Chapter 24

Quite simply put, I forgot how fucking exhausting going out on dates is. I honestly hate when people get to have opinions on what I do. I always have. I got suspended for fighting with my music teacher in high school just because he refused to let me go into the separate music rooms to practice with the guitar like others because he didn't like me. I got suspended for walking out of school when the same guy tried to make me stand at the front of the class and wear a fucking dunce cap, though not before I punched him.

I got suspended for punching another teacher, a math teacher for trying to order me around. Honestly, I got suspended a lot for stuff like that. I've never been good at taking orders, and I like to do my own thing. Which is why none of my relationships never worked out and I preferred casual stuff.

Still, at the very least, Misty wasn't a pain in the ass and just let me lead for the most part. The only time she really tried to take the lead at all was when we chose what movie we went to see, and even then that was fine with me since I knew jack shit about any of them.

It wasn't a bad date really, probably one of the better ones I'd been on despite how..kid friendly it was. Misty nudged me here and there, and even held my hand once, but that was it. It wasn't like I was bouncing her up and down in my lap sitting at the back. Lamentable, but mostly for the best I bet.

No bitches are tying this man down. Viva la freedom mother cucker!

In the end, we parted ways after eating at the same cafe she went to with Ash. She gave me another peck on the cheek and promised we should do it again next time we met up and then she went to find Ash. I took the chance to check out her ass as she went, and it was niiiice. I gotta admit. I'm pretty sure she even put a little extra sway to her hips as she went.

So, all in all, not a bad date at all.

What came after it though. Very bad. Very, very bad. Fearow flying through the air at breakneck speeds and making me nearly piss myself very bad.

For the first few minutes, it was alright. He kept pretty low and at a steady speed as we both got used to me riding on him. But then when I got a bit used to it, Fearow decided to be a little prick and play a prank. And by that I meant shoot into the air and fly as fast as he could.

I locked up like a little bitch and promised vengeance quite loudly and repeatedly. The big ass newly evolved bird just snickered at me through his long ass beak.

I decided then and there that I was going to have Pidgeotto kick his ass for me the next time we trained.

Mount Moon was a lot different than I assumed it would be. I'd completely forgotten what it was like in the anime and was expecting a large, rocky mountain area. Instead, it was more like a gargantuan hill covered in a vast expanse of greenery and trees.

The closer I got atop Fearow, the flying pokemon we passed by. A flock of Pidgey and Pidgeotto flew around us for a bit in curiosity, but were shooed off by a an aggressive bark by Fearow. A few Murkrow saw us and about turned, diving down into the tree line to get away from us before I could decide if I wanted one or not. And I'm sure I even saw one Swablu that I lost in the clouds.

The closer we got to the tree covered the mountain, the more I had Fearow dip down lower. Low enough that as we passed by we flew over quite a few pokemon. A small herd of Nidoran, both male and female together, an Arbok that dug right underground the second we got anywhere close, and even a small group of Metapod hanging on the side of one tree.

I was tempted to go for a pair of Nidoran, one male and one female, but I had enough poison types for now and I have a different ground type in mind.

"What's that?" I wondered, looking up near the top of the hill leading into up to the green mountain itself. A rumble shook the ground and the herd of Nidoran let out yelps of fear and scattered.

I could see a cloud of dust rising and sweeping down between the trees.

"Row." Fearow shrugged his wings, jostling me a bit, uncaring of whatever it was and continued on. He flew us up closer and I saw moments later that it looked like a large rugged boulder.

A boulder with four sets of arms tucked into its body. Good fortune for me it looks like. Though they aren't exactly rare. But this is just what I was hoping for.

"Hey, follow it down!" I tapped Fearow on the head and ordered.

Fearow huffed, but swerved and turned around. I felt butterflies flitting in my stomach at the speed he went and tightened my grip around the saddle.

The boulder, or rather the Graveler rolled down the hill at a rapid pace. Outpacing the average car easily. And mere moments later, it reached the bottom of the hill and bounced, body unfurling and landed, rocky feet skidding across the grass and digging small trenches in it.

I directed Fearow to land in front of the evolved form of Geodude and it turned towards us, a big wide grin on its face, "Grav!" it greeted, waving one of its big arms happily.

"Hey Graveler," I greeted it back, waving one of my own hands. "That was some Rollout you were using there." like seriously, that would run right over a human and turn them into a pancake, what a beast.

"Ler!" It gave me a thumbs up and nodded, grin widening.

I reached into my pocket under the saddle straps and pulled out a pokeball and enlarged it, holding it up. Graveler's eyes widened when it saw it, "I'm looking for a ground type and you seem great," I spun the pokeball atop my finger, "Want to join up with me?"

I had looked up the Geodude line in the pokdex during the time I spent in the forest when I was trying to decide what kind of ground type I wanted. And they fit pretty well, while a Nidoking would have been awesome, they were known for their aggressive tendencies. Where as the Golem line was more of a chill species that coexisted with humans happily, and if approached genuinely and amicably were known to react that way in kind. They only really got aggressive when someone threatened their freedom maliciously.

Three extra arms shot up and the thumbs joined the first one. The boulder pokemon eagerly shaking his thumbs up and down. "Grava!" it nodded.

Looks like the pokedex hasn't led me wrong at all. "Alright then." I smirked and caught the pokeball in my palm and gave it a small toss. It bounced off of Graveler's head and the rock type winked at me just before the ball clicked open and sooked it up like a soggy noodle of red energy.

Once, twice and three times the pokeball shook before letting out a click and stopping. Moments later, it glowed white and disappeared, heading off to Viridian City with the rest of my other pokemon.

"Capture 13," I laughed to myself and patted Fearow on the back of the head eagerly. The giant ass bird huffed in annoyance but I ignored him in favour of pulling my phone out and pulling up the pokedex app, "Now let's see what I'm working with here."

I scrolled down to Graveler's profile icon, right beside Smeargle's - and wasn't that little delinquents move pool insane? - and I couldn't help but grin, "Male with Sturdy huh? And not a bad fucking set of attacks. Tackle, Rollout, Sand Attack, Defense Curl, Mud Sport, Steath Rock and Explosion." I can definitely fucking work with this.

And he'll be good to teach Rock Throw to with the TM I got from Brock.
