145 Chapter 145

At my awkward greeting, Nurse Joy sighed and rolled her eyes at me, almost like an exasperated older sister that was just completely done with their idiot of a little brother.

Which was kind of kinky to think to be honest, because Joy was a total babe and I'd hit that with all the force of Charizard's blaze enhanced Blast Burn attack.

"I do believe the sky is," Professor Oak merely laughed and stepped forward, "Hello Jord, I am professor Samuel Oak, it's a pleasure to meet you." he introduced himself and held his hand out.

I took it and smiled back as I shook his hand, "I know, I listen to your poetry sometimes," I replied, and I wasn't just bullshitting, I usually had the radio on while training and he was on quite often, "And I'm friends with your grandson, we met a little while back."

"Oh, you're friends with Gary?" Oak's eyebrows rose up in surprise, before shaking his head, "That sounds like it would have been quite the explosive first meeting."

"It was, I stomped him in a battle and now we're friends, that's generally how this kind of thing goes right?" I grinned, "Though he has banned me from ever meeting your granddaughter."

Oak burst out laughing, "Very hypocritical of him, but also very smart." he noted.

Damn, was Oak calling me a womanizing horn dog? I mean, he wasn't wrong but still.

"Fair enough," I shrugged, "Either way it's nice to meet you."

"And you too, very nice actually," Oak beamed, "Your discovery has opened up all manners of new research routes, I've not been this excited in a while."

Yup, and it would also spread my name far and wide and deepen my pockets for sure. Just call me Scrooge McJord, cuz my pockets are gonna jingle baby!

When I walk down the street, people are gonna think it's Christmas time with all the jingles going down.

And that also means, you better be prepared to pay outta the nose as well old man Oak.

He stepped aside a moment later, letting go of my hand to allow Professor Cerise to step up, "Hello Jord," the glasses wearing man greeted me with a big warm smile, "Really incredible to meet you, you probably don't know me since I'm not all that well known yet, but I'm Professor Cerise from Vermillion City, and this is my daughter Chloe." he introduced himself, before gesturing to his daughter.

Chloe froze for a moment as the attention turned to her, before half heartedly raising her hand, "Ah, hey," she greeted me awkwardly, "Nice…battle I guess?"

I resisted the urge to laugh, she couldn't have looked less like she wanted to be here if she tried.

"Hey, it's real nice to meet ya' Chloe," I replied, giving her the old one two, half smile, half lidded eyes combo and looked directly into her eyes and held her gaze for just a moment, before turning my attention back to Professor Cerise, "It's great to meet you as well professor, I actually have heard of you, I was thinking of stopping in to meet you while I was in Vermillion but I ended up being a little rushed."

As I shook his hand I gave him a grin, "You're a lucky man I've gotta say though," I mused, "If your wife is even half as pretty as your daughter Chloe, she probably makes models cry in envy."

Chloe's eyes widened and her cheeks burned hot at my words, while her father just laughed, "Well, she's definitely the most beautiful woman in the world to me."

A titter drew my attention from Professor Cerise as Delia walked over, "My, you're quite the little flirt aren't you?" she pointed out, one hand cupping her cheek, "That was quite the impressive battle you had out there against Lance, you did really well. Oh, I'm Delia Ketchum by the way."

I made a show of blinking in 'surprise', "As in Ash Ketchum?" I asked, raising an eyebrow, "Are you his older sister?"

If I was ignorant of who she actually was, that would have been my first guess. Delia really is that young looking, she looks like she's barely into her twenties, and was definitely one of the most beautiful women I'd seen here to date.

Clad in a sundress and white hat, she almost looked like a model right off of the run way, with voluptuous curves that were apparent no matter how modest her dress was, long auburn brown hair tied in a neat ponytail and bright amber eyes.

"Oh my, you're really dangerous aren't you?" Delia giggled, before shaking her head, "But you know my Ashy? I'm actually his mother."

"Yeah, I actually met him my first day in Kanto, in fact it's thanks to him and Pikachu I managed to catch my Spearow, or well Fearow now," I shrugged, "Still, are you sure you're his mother? I mean, you look like you're barely into your twenties, hell you could pass for a college girl, you don't look like a woman with a kid a few years older than me at all."

Delia was all smiles, "I repeat, you're very dangerous aren't you?"

I smiled back widely, "Do you think Ash would be mad if I asked you out on a date?"

"You'd have to ask him," Delia shrugged easily, "Though, I'm sure he wouldn't be too fussed about it at all."

"I can always give him a call now and check," I winked, "Get his blessing and all that and-"

"Amusing as this trite flirting is," Giovanni's clipped voice cut me off, "And I don't mean to interrupt and be demanding, there's more important things to discuss right now rather than inane chatter like this."

…Hey yo, bro.

Fuck you.

"Always such a stick in the mud." Delia rolled her eyes
