136 Chapter 136

A champion was no normal trainer. To assume so, was the height of folly. The difference between a champion and an average trainer, was as vast as the distance between Heaven and Earth.

In the first place, a single low ranking Gym Leader could handle dozens of average trainers at once, a top tier gym leader could defeat scores of them without breaking a sweat. And even the weakest of Elite Four could decimate a top tier Gym Leader.

It was in the name, they were the elites. But even the most elite of elites, fell short in comparison to a champion.

Champions could crush armies of hundreds of pokemon with a single one of their own. They were the ones that faced off against the incarnations of nature itself when legends ran amok, they were the ones who faced off against conceptual gods of space and time, they were the ones who carried the lives of entire regions on their shoulders.

To put it simply.

Champions were a big deal. And even a single one on one exhibition match against a trainer showing some potential in the gym circuit, could draw crowds upwards of fifty thousand and more with ease.

So when one of the most famous champions of all, one who was a champion of not one, but two regions accepted a battle from a young hot prodigy who blazed onto the scene with rare and powerful pokemon, it wasn't just Kanto or Johto who tuned in.

It was broadcasted across the entire world.

And people were glued to their seats with baited breath, eyes wide with shock as they watched the pokemon of a Champion, fall.

"Yes!" Gary cheered, bouncing up atop the hood of his convertible where he'd been casually reclining with a laptop.

Fist pumped high in the air, his voice echoed through the wilderness around him, startling some pidgey above out of a tree. He was on his way to Porta Vista to meet up with his gramps when one of his girls casually playing with his laptop saw a trending live stream on Poketube.

Imagine his shock when it turned out to be the freaking champion of his region battling against Mr. Clap Their Cheeks himself.

He had no idea why the fuck Jord was battling the champion, it wasn't actually that long ago since he was talking to the brat over texts where he was bullshitting about wanting to meet his sister.

Well at least Gary hoped the kid was bullshitting, he didn't want a fuck boy like that anywhere near his older sister.

It was bad enough when Ashy-boy had a massive crush on her, he didn't need his new rival trying to bed her!

Besides, he had that hot booty shorts girl why did he need any more than that? He should be happy with just the one like any normal guy.

Gary conveniently ignored the squad of girls he toted around. Because much like his rival, the only hypocrite he liked was himself.

Either way, he was psyched and could contain his excitement at all. Jord had did it.

He'd brought down a champions pokemon. Albeit, his weakest pokemon by far, and Lance wasn't taking the kid seriously at all the kid wouldn't have landed a single one of his attacks that actually mattered if Lance had.

But, he'd still managed it.

His greatest rival, had defeated one of Lance's pokemon, was actually capable of hurting it. Which meant, since Jord was around Gary's level, he could do it to.

And it confirmed for him, he was on the right path!

"I should send that asshole something as thanks." Gary smirked to himself, fist still raised in the air.

Definitely not his sisters number though.

Fuck no.

Ear ringing shouts of jubilation and whooping cheers thundered in Misty's ears and she winced in annoyance.

Jord was battling Lance.

Somehow, Misty couldn't find it in herself to be surprised. From the very moment she met him, he seemed to have a plan in mind for rising through the ranks at a rapid speed.

Even if his common sense was lacking, but then he was still younger than most trainers starting out by a couple years so fair enough.

Then again, this was the guy that caught just the other day wrestled a Gyarados and Dragonite into submission and whom when she last talked to, was lounging across a throne of evolutionary stones worth millions like a throne.

Jord and common sense didn't seem to get along well.

And this battle just showed that even more.

Jord had beat one of Lance's pokemon. That was the crazy thing. Misty wished she could actually pay more attention to the battle going on or put her thoughts into order.

But she wasn't given the chance. Because Ash and Brock were crowded around the screen in their room at the Pokemon Centre, alongside Pikachu, Scizor and Riolu.

Not to mention that annoying prankster of a Gengar that she knew was hiding in Ash's shadow right now.

She could only catch glimpses of the battle going on because of them crowding around it.

But it wasn't just that.

Her phone was constantly buzzing with messages or ringing with calls. From her sisters. Especially Violet.

The damn bimbo's had been bothering her off and on for a while about Jord, it only got worse when he started trending with his Dragonite and Gyarados, not to mention his Blastoise.

And they hadn't stopped messaging her ever since this battle with Lance went live and took the region by storm.

'Maybe if you didn't snub him for using a damn Raticate you'd be able to call him yourself.' Misty snorted. Stupid Violet, always the most superficial of her three older sisters and that was saying a lot.

Or not.

Misty smirked as she remembered that Jord had intentionally snubbed her sister right back when she came on to him after he beat Lily in his Gym Battle, because he didn't want to ruin his chances with her.

Either way, it was annoying though. Jord had gotten pretty good 'stock' with her sisters ever since his gym battle at Cerulean City. It had risen sharply when he trended on Poketube. And now it had risen massively again, probably even more so after he beat Lance's Dragonite.

Especially the way he casually bragged about giving a girl a Dragonite Lance claimed was easily worth twenty five million.

Gold diggers across the region probably had their eyes turn into pokedollars signs.

An uncomfortable sensation lingered in her stomach at the thought. But it wasn't because of them. At least not entirely.

The movie girl was definitely ahead of her right now with Jord. She sighed in annoyance.

She wasn't sure how to do about that-

So she put it out of mind for the moment to focus on what was going on right now, and on that point.

"Will you idiots move out of the way and let me see as well!" Misty growled in annoyance from behind the group of idiots blocking her view.

She got why Pikachu and Scizor were out, they both lost to Jord's Fearow, which just brought down Lance's Dragonite as well. But why was Riolu out? Why…just why?

It was so annoying!

The student council room of Naranja Academy was alit with the noise of a cheering girl.

She was the only one there, but her cheering more than made up for it. Atop her desk, sat a laptop.

And the feed of a live stream directly from Kanto played out on the screen.

And!

Nemona!

Was!

So!

Excited!

"Ooooh, I wish he was from here!" the girl bit into her fist, vibrating with anticipation at the thought. Things worked a bit differently in Paldea than most regions.

If he was a trainer over here, he'd have had to start out from Naranja just like every other trainer. Which meant she could have met him.

And battled him!

That confidence! That boldness! The endurance! The sly strategizing! The way he knew his pokemon and trusted them to give it their all even in the face of someone like Lance!

"Gah, he's so cool!" she squealed, reaching up to cup her cheeks and vigorously shake her head, her green bang and ponytail bouncing jubilantly with the motion.

From her estimates, she was sure she was stronger right now than the boy and could defeat him in a battle. But, from everything she heard so far he'd only been a trainer for two months.

This kind of growth in only two months and the way he and his pokemon rose to the occasion to fight Lance? Even if she beat him, he'd just rise up to challenge her again after improving rapidly and maybe beat her!

And then she could use that as a chance to grow and re-challenge him and beat him.

And then he'd do the same and beat her, and then she'd to the same and then he'd to the same and then she'd do the same!

He would be the perfect rival!

Nemona wanted him, she wanted him so bad! How could she get him though? 'Maybe I could invite him here?' she wondered, head tilting to the side in thought.

Not to brag, but she had pretty big pull in Paldea. She'd already gotten all eight gym badges, her family was high up in authority, and she was the student council president of Naranja Academy!

Maybe she could do something with that?

"Now that's what I'm talking about!" Rosa whooped, pumping a fist into the air as she jumped up and down, her voluptuous curves bouncing and jiggling along with her, almost coming straight out of the scanty lade underwear that she was wearing…and nothing else, "This is what I expect from my future shota boytoy husband!"

It said a lot about her state of mind, that Hilda's shock was too great to even tell off her cousin.

Such was the craziness of the situation. Jord…had beaten Lance's Dragonite. Sure, he'd used four pokemon to do it and it didn't seem like Lance was taking him all that seriously still going by how lax his commands had been.

But he'd still brought down Lance's Dragonite.

Again, his weakest one, but that didn't make it weak.

It was a champions pokemon after all.

She should be excited, and glad and proud. And Hilda was, but overshadowing them, a sense of worry formed in the pit of her stomach.

Jord was strong, there was no doubt. And he could definitely take care of himself. But…he was still so early into his journey. Still so young.

All this limelight so quickly…it drew so much attention. Would he really be alright? If this was just tow months into his journey, and at how young he was now…

Hilda shuddered to imagine what kind of crazy escapades he'd get into going forward from here.

And that wasn't even into taking into account the normal things that came with the infamy he'd gained now. People all over would have designs for him to play into, or make them soon. And what about reporters and such? With his bold confidence bordering on absolute arrogance, and the way he just did and said whatever he wanted, they could easily twist things he said or situations he was in around to paint him in a bad light.

Everyone loved a hero.

Everyone loved a rising star.

And everyone loved a rebel.

She knew that as an ironclad fact from all her experience growing up in the show bizz.

But more than all three of them combined, she also knew that the people loved to see such a person be dragged down as well. Because people were not perfect, they were prone to envy, they were prone to anger at those that made them look bad.

And Jord made a lot of people look bad with his knowledge and skill. He wasn't even the normal age for a starting trainer, yet he made some trainers decades his senior look pitiful.

And all those who would envy him and smother their feelings of inferiority with anger, would love to see him dragged down into the mud with them. Because it would make them feel better about themselves.

Damn Team Plasma, if only they didn't steal Rosa's pokemon, she'd still be back in Kanto with Jord right now and she'd be able to shield him from some of that, and coach him on how to deal with the ones who'd try to consistently twist his narrative.

"Hey cuz!" Rosa's shout broke Hilda from her thoughts and she looked to see her cousin cupping her large breasts, bouncing them up and down…weighing them? "What kinda underwear does he like, do you know? Like does he have a colour preference or style? Like thongs, g-strings, maybe crotchless?"

And of course the gold diggers.

Not that she'd ever call her cousin a gold digger. Because she wasn't really interested in money, and was more pokemon mad. It just so happened that rare and powerful pokemon were either very hard to find, or very expensive.

"He prefers girls called Hilda, so shut the hell up and put some clothes on you damn exhibitionist." Hilda retorted with a roll of her eyes.

"Alright, guess I'm changing my name then, you can be Rosa now," Rosa shrugged without missing a beat, "Also, no. Just cuz you're jelly I'm hotter than you isn't any reason for me to cover this sexy body of mine, especially since I know you're totally calling Jord in a little while for sure. I'll let my shota husband see the goods in advance, get him all riled up and ready for me!"

"Will you stop calling him that, you're from Unova, not Kanto you twit," Hilda huffed, "And you are in no way, shape or form, hotter than me." she added, with a pointed glare.

"Your mother." Rosa replied maturely, sticking her tongue out.

"That doesn't even make sense!" Hilda's eyebrow literally twitched.

"Your face doesn't make sense." Rosa shot back, pulling her tongue back into her mouth and giving her a shit eating grin.

"That's rich coming from some chick who hit every branch on the way down the ugly tree after you were born!" Hilda narrowed her eyes, "You're so ugly we thought auntie had an affair with a Garbodor!"

"Yeah, well your ass is so fat when you walk down the street people think you're a wild Snorlax!"

"Your chest is so saggy people think you're a guy carrying around a Stunfisk!"
