51 Chapter 51: The Lore of Hammerton

Mike went closer to the writing, but did not understand it, but he was able to decipher some letters. Jessica said that she understood the writing and read it. Once she was done reading, she said that this writing was about the how Hammerton formed to how it became right now. She said that Hammerton started as a snowy area 10,000 years ago, with a giant mountain, known as Mt. Aloran currently. She said Hammerton was created by 4 pokemon, who reside inside Mt. Aloran. She said researchers are currently studying the subject and have linked Hammerton's creation to 4 Pokemon. These pokemon were Articuno, Regice, Kyurem and Glastrier. She said that they turned Hammerton into a snowy civilization where there were no humans. Then, many ice type Pokemon started to inhabit Hammerton and formed many landforms. Then, around 2000 years ago, a group of explorers, nicknamed the founding five, landed their boat on an snowy island.

They then started to explore this island and they thought this was the perfect area to start a new civilization. The founding five collaborated with the legendary Pokemon, and the ice pokemon living on the island to start a brand new civilization. Then, a sudden burst of sunlight over a period of 2 years suddenly started to melt most of the ice and snow, and started to reveal the natural part of Hammerton. The only snowy part of Hammerton that still lasts today is the area surrounding Mt. Aloran, which was barely hit by the intense sunlight. Then, the founding five adapted to life in Hammerton and eventually more people started to move to Hammerton, and alas, it became a big civilization today and is home to a high population.

Georgia asked Jessica about the stone Team Boom was trying to get in the cave back there, Jessica said she had no idea about it, but she said it was important because Articuno came to defend. Jessica then recommended them to go to the Hewdemo City Library, which was the city they were going to next. Hewdemo was the capital of Hammerton and is where the founding five, started their civilization. She said the library was the biggest in Hammerton and was sure to have information about the start of Hammerton. Mike suggested they go inside the cave, Jessica then healed his Pokemon before heading in.

Inside was dark, but there was a light at the end of the tunnel coming from above. They entered slowly, and approached them was a Jangmo-o. Mike then said he wanted to catch it because it would evolve it into a strong Kommo-o. Right when Mike was going to throw the Pokeball at it, they heard a loud roar, then a giant Kommo-o came right at them, it turned out to be the mother of the Jangmo-o Mike tried to capture. Mike then proceeded to back off and Kommo-o took her son with her back to the back of the cave. Mike thought this cave was dangerous, but they had no way of exiting the island. Suddenly, when they thought Team Boom was gone, they came back.

They've learned that a powerful Kommo-o had lived in the cave and wanted to capture it for their use. Team Boom came with a helicopter with Levi back with another admin. They lowered a net from their helicopter into Kommo-o, and Kommo-o was trapped in the net. The Jangmo-o was crying for help, that is when Team Boom tried to lift it up with it was quite heavy so it would take some time. Mike then sent out his Decidueye, and Carson sent out his new Crabominable. Jessica also sent out her Salazzle. Decidueye flew and tried to hit their helicopter, but had no use. Crabominable used an Ice Shard, but the shards did not go high enough that it would hit the helicopter. That is when Mike had an idea, since Decidueye was good at shooting arrows, it would have good aim. So Mike told Decidueye to use Spirit Shackle, but to hit the small hook holding the net, Decidueye made a perfect bullseye and Team Boom's net broke and Kommo-o fell back down.

They then gave up for good and flew off in their helicopter and the four of them decided to walk back in the cave and see what happened. It turned out that Kommo-o was fine, and Jangmo-o was thanking Mike for saving its mother. Kommo-o then gave approval saying that he could catch the Jangmo-o knowing that he was a strong and determined trainer. Kommo-o also handed Mike the Kommonium Z, which allowed Jangmo-o, when it evolves into a Kommo-o to use it's exclusive Z-Move Clangorous Soulblaze. Mike then left the cave after looking at the Kommo-o and giving it a nod. The four of them went back to the boardwalk, but they were still stuck until a Lapras came back to shore. This was the Lapras that was particularly fond of the Carson when they first met.

Lapras then realized they had no way of getting back to the mainland, and offered to have them sit on its back. Lapras' back was pretty big, so there was tons of room and it did not go back for another round. There was something about this Lapras, it looked stronger than the other Lapras Mike had seen. Once they landed back on the mainland, Carson had decided that he wanted Lapras to join his adventure. Carson threw his Pokeball at Lapras, and caught it. He had finally got his next member of the team.

They went to the hotel, for some rest and in the morning they said their farewells to Jessica, and left Renimba City on their way to Hewdemo City on the journey for Mike's sixth gym badge.
