124 A Great Improvements

"ROAR?" (Father?) The young Gyarados felt a creeping unease upon seeing his father gazing at him.

"ROAR" (Nothing) The father Gyarados then closed his eyes, seemingly ignoring his son.

"ROAR!" (Father, trust me, we should never trust that human)

"ROAR" (Don't bother me; go roam around and later bring the news to me.) His father then started to snore, signaling his descent into sleep.

"ROAR" (Understood!) The young Gyarados felt a surge of happiness, as he really relished roaming around. He then began to fly off, seeking out his sister.

The father, Gyarados, while sleeping, suddenly opened his eyes, watching his son happily roaming about. He snorted briefly and then closed his eyes once more.

Upon Floyd's return, he observed the young Gyarados roaming about. He pretended not to see him and swiftly flew away. Floyd did not engage with him and started to walk on.

A few moments later, he arrived at his training ground, where he saw the battle between four Goomys and an exhausted Horsea. He halted their activity, summoning them to start their meal.

Horsea, appearing lifeless and exhausted, suddenly opened her eyes widely and rushed towards him with evident joy.

Floyd commenced distributing their food. Meanwhile, the young Gyarados reappeared, roaming nearby. Floyd paid him no attention, not even a single glance.

The Gyarados, who was trying to seek attention, grew angry upon seeing Floyd's apparent indifference.

(Floyd: Who are you? My girlfriend?)

After finishing the preparations, he observed Dratini, who was struggling in his fight to break free from his old molted skin. It was fortunate that it was still early in the morning; otherwise, Swablu would have started teasing him again.

Floyd did not disturb him and turned his attention to his Pokémon:

All of Fraxure's Dragon moves have shown significant improvement, including the normal moves like Protect and Swords Dance, as well as the Poison move, Poison Jab. This enhancement is attributed to the poison sac that Fraxure acquired from a previously deceased Arbok, along with the assistance of the current Arbok, who provides poison to him daily.

Horsea has already been caught up to by Growlithe, and if she continues like this, Growlithe, Goomy, and Dratini will soon surpass her. However, it seems that this girl doesn't care about this; the only thing she cares about is food.

As for Growlithe, he has mastered the move Flame Wheel. This achievement is a direct result of Floyd's dedication to enhancing Growlithe's Fire Type attributes through specialized nutrition, focusing on laying a strong foundation and perfecting his Fire moves.

Regarding the five Goomys, Floyd has tailored their diet to be rich in steel-type nutrients. He is aware that such a diet might not be ideal for their current type, but he finds himself in a dilemma. His primary goal is to restore their steel type before they evolve into Sligoo, leaving him with limited options to achieve this transformation.

This is also one of the reasons why they were slow in leveling up, even though Growlithe had already surpassed the leader Goomy in level, that's because due to the steel-type food and training, the leader Goomy unexpectedly learned Iron Tail when he advanced to the Pro Level.

Learning Iron Tail was beneficial for Floyd because he preferred most of his Pokémon to learn this type of move.

Compared to Dragon Tail, Iron Tail was easier to control and being a Steel Type move, it could be advantageous for his dragon-type Pokémon to counter Fairy and Ice types in the long term. Therefore, all of his dragon-type Pokémon must learn it, with Fraxure's current task being to master this move.

Additionally, Floyd wanted all his Goomys to learn Acid Spray and Acid Armor, moves exclusive to the Hisuian Type of Goomy. Due to a lack of nutrition and foundational training, they hadn't learned it yet. But now, with their foundation being reestablished, Floyd needed to devise a plan for this.

As for Munchlax, Floyd couldn't precisely estimate his level, so he guessed it based on his strength. Munchlax also successfully learned Scratch, which, according to Floyd's training requirements, was the easiest among the three moves to learn, which were Scratch, Rollout, and Body Slam.

Munchlax recovered quickly as he ate, leading Floyd to surmise that his Swallow move might have improved significantly.

Floyd now had one Ace level Pokémon, three at the Pro level, and soon potentially a fourth as he looked expectantly at Dratini.

Moments later, Dratini began to extricate himself from his old skin, slowly crawling until, after some effort, he finally succeeded.

"Ehew!" Dratini exclaimed, venting his frustrations to the sky as he overcame his own physical challenge.

Floyd reviewed his stats:

Pokemon: Dratini

Level: 20 ♂

Type: Dragon

Ability: Shed Skin

Moves:

Beginner Level: Extreme Speed, Twister, Thunder Wave, Dragon Breath, Dragon Dance, Protect, Wrap, Dragon Tail, Agility

Genetic Skill: Extreme Speed, Dragon Breath

Well, what could Floyd say? This little guy had just learned Protect a few days ago, and now he had mastered Agility too.

Honestly, calling Dratini a little guy didn't seem quite right anymore. At almost similar height to Floyd, which made him smiled wistfully.

How old was Dratini? Only 20 days. Yet, at 20 days old, he had reached a Pro level comparable to Horsea, Growlithe, and Goomy.

Where else could one find such a genius? The answer lay in the little guy in front of Floyd.

There's a saying: don't fear those so-called geniuses, as that so-called genius is just a talent that needs honing, a title not yet deserved. But fear the hardworking geniuses, for no matter how hard you work, they are difficult to reach, let alone surpass. That's a true genius.

This saying applied perfectly to the little guy in front of him.

"Congratulations, Dratini. You've reached Pro level and managed to catch up to your brothers and sister," Floyd found no fault with Dratini; he was one of Floyd's pride, a hardworking Pokémon.

"Ehewwww," Dratini's eyes shone brightly as he excitedly rushed towards Floyd and began spinning around him.

"Hahahaha," Floyd caught and hugged him.
