1 Prologue

"Ellion! Hurry! The eggs are hatching!" A delicate voice loudly exclaimed as footsteps echoed through the house and soon the child of question rocketed down the stairs and into the waiting arms of their mother. She smiled as she twirled her daughter around and smiled, her laughter delighting the child as they spun until the woman put her daughter down and remarked "Did you dress yourself? You look stunning my dear but we must work on your timing"

Ellion blushed as she twirled showing off her black dress with a pink jacket and replied "I did! Izzy got this for me! Now hurry I don't wanna miss the hatchings!" the young girl bounced on her toes as she pulled her mother into the den where a large nest was set up.

She jumped onto one of the couches that were set up as a sort of barrier for the back of the nest and watched in anticipation as the large eggs started to crack. The mother, a dragapult named Taka hummed as she slowly lifted herself up from where she was buried underneath blankets surrounding the eggs and gently cooned to the eggs. It didn't take long before the three eggs cracked enough for the baby pokemon to crawl their way out with shrill cries that were answered by their mother who gathered them all up then glanced up at her trainer.

The mother smiled as she motioned to her daughter "Elli what do you see hmm?" the girl gazed at them all with excitement as she climbed off the couch and crouched down to their level then replied "They all look healthy, their spikes are all sharp indicating healthiness, they don't have any dull colors meaning they're also energized. And that one is a little bit bigger than the other." the mother smiled and nodded then glanced at the last egg finally cracked but nothing came out, she watched as her daughter gently tipped the egg over, coming face to face with an exquisitely sheeny pokemon.

Her mother grinned "And what of that one hm?"

The little girl looked in awe as the small pokemon stared back at her "This one...is a different color than the others, it's shiny!"

They both stared at each other until Taka called her baby over and nuzzled the small baby. The two humans watched as Taka gently greeted each of her three children with coos and nuzzling. Ellion beamed as the three newly-born Dreepy started to play, floating around their mother chasing one another until one got tired and gently landed on her lap. Her mother shared a knowing glance with her pokemon and gently tapped her daughter's shoulder. "Ellion" the girl looked up from petting the pokemon to see her mother with a gentle smile "Happy birthday" and in her hand a red and white Pokeball.

*9 years later*

I looked over the field and smiled as I placed my fingers to my lips and whistled hard, a loud shrill note echoing through the field, calling to the pokemon that dwelled there. I lifted a bucket full of pokemon food and dumped it into a trough as pokemon started to appear, coming to my call and the smell of food. I set the bucket down and picked up another continuing my afternoon chores when I heard the sound of my mother's jeep. I smiled as I picked up a metapod who just shivered in my arms as I looked at the other pokemon; a treecko, panpour,sunflora, and munna then said "All right everyone, Mom's home let's go say hi!"

I laughed gently as the metapod in my arms vibrated with a hum as I went towards the house followed by the pokemon. I set the metapod down on one of the pokebeds and hurry inside holding my hand out for Spyra to climb on as I passed her bed, I heard a squeak then the familiar weight of my partner on my shoulders and made my way to the front of our house to find my mother come in and quickly shut the door behind her. I smile "Hey mom, how was the shopping?"

She smiled as she set her purse down and gave me a kiss on her cheek then disappeared into the kitchen replying "Oh well it was wonderful, I saw Mrs.Olds from the city and we caught up. She said hi by the way. Oh! She gave me a gift for you, It's in the car, can you go get it for me?" I nodded as I exited the house and walked to her Jeep.

I quickly found the box on the passenger seat and shooed the Rookidee off the porch with a smile when I noticed the extra car that was parked beside my mother's. I furrowed my eyebrows as I walked in and asked "Hey mom, why's there another car here? Is someone here for their pokemon?"

I walked into the kitchen and the parcel in my hands slammed into the floor as I stared in shock at the extra person standing in the kitchen, who took that chance to turn around with a small smile, "Hello lovely, ready to show the world what we can do?"

I gasped as I walked over to them and gently placed a hand on their cheek and stared into their eyes as I murmured "Wholeheartedly, my love."
