Apparently, the world been through cataclysm because the legendary pokemon have enough of the behavior of humans toward pokemon.

The legendary pokemons decided to make all of the pokemons in the world to have a hostile behavior toward humans and even kill them if they want too.

This results in pokemon trainer becoming the most important person in every region on pokemon world because they are the person that be able protect the region against wild pokemons.
