116 Chapter 116:

As Kevin watched his trump card fall in battle, his confidence shattered like glass. The Golbat, with its impeccable aptitude, had always served as his trusty ally in the ranks of the Team Rocket grunts. People often vied for his attention, hoping to curry favor with him.

On every mission, the Golbat's wings had carried him high above the fray, granting him a strategic advantage that left his foes in disarray. But today, just as the battle began, Gastly's Confuse Ray had struck it down with a swift and vicious blow. Suddenly, Kevin found himself stripped of his greatest weapon.

"Damn it!" he snarled, his rage rising to a fever pitch. "Why can't you take out that Slowpoke with your Arbok? If that psychic monster is free to unleash its power, we'll all be screwed!"

"Shut your trap, trash! Can't you see that my Arbok is being held back?" The other young man, once submissive, had undergone a drastic change and responded rudely.

It became apparent that after losing his most feared Golbat, Kevin was no longer considered a threat. The young man had already decided that once he disposed of the Association trainer, he would send Kevin away with him and claim all the benefits for himself.

With these thoughts in mind, his face twisted into a more ferocious expression, and he commanded, "Arbok! Ice Fang!"

Kevin watched as his usually obedient subordinate screamed at him. He felt a range of emotions wash over him, from embarrassment to anger, but he didn't dare speak up. He knew that to win this battle, he would have to rely on the same subordinate who had just insulted him. Nevertheless, Kevin was determined to teach him a lesson once everything was settled.

Cain watched their faces and sneered. He had overestimated these two. How could they ever hope to cooperate seamlessly when they were so distrustful of one another?

"Miltank, keep using Defense Curl! Slowpoke, hit Arbok with Psyshock! Murkrow, Feint Attack! Take down that Koffing!" Cain's gaze lingered on Kevin's Koffing as he spoke.

In truth, this battle should have been more evenly matched. It was four Pokemon against four, and although Cain's Pokemon had the advantage in aptitude, the other side's Pokemon had the advantage in level. If the two of them had trusted each other a bit more, they could have left one Koffing to fend off Gastly and used the other to hold back Miltank. Then the battle wouldn't have been so easy for Cain. With a little cooperation, the Golbat could have even weathered the duration of its confusion status and had a chance to retaliate.

But it was too late for that now. Cain knew victory was inevitable.

After Miltank used Defense Curl twice, her defense stat was through the roof. And combined with her Thick Fat ability, Arobok's Ice Fang was barely able to leave a scratch on her hide.

Slowpoke was the main damage dealer in this battle. So as Cain ordered a change in attack targets, powerful Psyshocks started to batter Arbok, leaving him dazed and confused.

Meanwhile, Murkrow was locked in a fierce battle with Kevin's Koffing. Neither could finish off the other, leaving them both stuck in a stalemate.

Kevin gritted his teeth as he surveyed the chaotic scene before him. Things had gone completely haywire. He had to worry about Gastly attacking him and keep an eye on his "subordinate" at the same time.

Retreating was starting to look like the only option. The situation was just too dangerous. Even if they managed to defeat the Association trainer, he knew he would fall at the hands of his "subordinate" afterwards.

He slowly reached for the Pokeball at his waist, ready to recall his Golbat at a moment's notice. As for the Koffing, it had become a sacrifice he had to make.

But the other young man was watching him like a hawk. He wouldn't let Kevin off the hook that easily. If he did, he might not make it out alive when they returned. The Association trainer's Pokemon were strong, but he believed he could still retreat whenever he wanted to. At worst, he would have to sacrifice his Koffing.

Those two poor little Koffings had become nothing more than sacrificial pawns in the game.

Suddenly, the situation on the battlefield shifted once again!

Miltank had had enough. Veins popped out on her forehead, displaying a side of her that nobody knew existed. The usually shy and quiet Miltank was finally showing her angry side.

Cain was taken aback by her behavior. He watched as she forced open Arbok's mouth, choked him by the neck, and pulled him off her body.

Arbok was all muscles, so it was almost impossible to break free from his grip. But not only did Miltank pull him off, she didn't stop there.

She planted one foot on Arbok's head and used her free hand to grab his tail. Then, she began to dance, using Arbok as a whip.

[♫♪Que the music - I whip my hair back and forth♫♪]

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

With each snap of the whip, Arbok was slammed into the ground. He was already injured from Slowpoke's attacks, so Miltank's onslaught pushed him into unconsciousness.

If Miltank hadn't stopped when she did, Cain believed she might have killed him.

The battlefield fell silent. Slowpoke and Murkrow, used to Miltank's shyness, were so surprised that they forgot to attack. They felt like they were seeing her in a whole new light.

As the dust settled, Miltank realized she may have gone a little too far. She looked around and saw others staring at her. Shyly, she lowered her head, and a faint red blush appeared on her face.

Suddenly, a loud "gulp" broke the silence.

The young man, who was Arbok's trainer, never imagined that the seemingly weak and chubby-looking Miltank could be so terrifying.

Both Golbat and Arbok, their ace Pokemon, were out of commission.

Kevin was the first to react. His face red with anger, he quickly recalled his Golbat into its Pokeball and bolted without looking back.

"Damn it!" The other young man gritted his teeth as he watched Kevin run away. The Golbat was close enough to be recalled, but his Arbok was too far away. If he wanted to escape, he'd have to give up on Arbok. But even if he did make it back to Team Rocket's base, he wouldn't survive for long.

Nevertheless, in this life-and-death moment, he couldn't hesitate. He gave Arbok one last glance before turning around and running for his life.
