4 First W

"So how many badges ya got son?" I hear my dad question the challenger. Liam taking another Pokeball from his bag answers.

"I've got two official badges and five partnered badges." He announces.

"That's not too bad, you're one badge off entering the league this season. That's pretty quick, but let's see if you're skills are up to par." Flint says with a wide smirk.

Flint tapping the floor makes the stand from before appear as he takes a Pokeball from the given six.

"An official gym battle between Flint the gym leader and Liam Edgewurst the challenger will begin. Each person is allowed two Pokemon and the other wins if their opponents have their Pokemon fainted. Only the challenger can switch out his Pokemon." The referee says a little differently than when I was battling, but it's basically the same just the added rules.

"Begin!"

Both battlers hearing this, sent out their Pokemon right after.

*Phszzszt*

"Kabutops!"

"Poliwhirl!"

"Kabutops end this with [Liquidation]." Flint calmly commands as Liam's Charmeleon was exhausted and couldn't move a muscle.

"Charmeleon dodge it!" Liam shouts seeing his situation.

With Charmeleon not being able to dodge, Kabutops speeds next to it and smacks it with its scythe which knocks it out.

*Crash*

The referee walking up to Charmeleon, confirms that it has fainted.

"Charmeleon is unable to battle, which makes Kabutops the winner. With both challenger Liam's Pokemon fainted, the victor is Flint the gym leader!"

Liam seeing the sorry state his Chameleon was at, returned it to its Pokeball as he exited the gym in low spirits.

Watching the challenger leave and how badly he got overpowered. I start to feel a little bad for the guy as Dad's Kabutops literally OHKO his two Pokemon.

"Let's go kids!" Lola cheerfully said after the fight was over. "You can stay here though Forrest, you still have a few more battles today."

My ears perking up at her words, a smile could be seen on my face as I nodded at her words.

"Bai bai bwada!"

"See you soon!"

"Gu?"

Waving back at my family, I make my way towards Flint who was instructing some worker. It seemed like he was starting to clean up and modernise the gym more.

"Hey dad great battle!" I shout, making my way towards him. Flint hearing my voice gets a wide smirk and looks over at me.

"Did you see that Forrest, your old man might of not been a gym leader for a while. But I'm still extremely strong!" Flint says flexing his biceps.

"Kabutops was so strong!" I say with stars in my eyes. Flint hesring this comically falls over at not being praised but just laughs it off.

Right after this Flint got a serious look and held my shoulders.

"You know why you lost your battle don't you?"

Hearing this I look down at the floor in contemplation. In truth there are three reason I could of though of but one was more prevalent of the three.

First was that I kept on going by my plan and ended up getting countered. Second I didn't try to make space between the two as Charmeleon got to close space for free.

And lastly I got greedy to set up instead of using the long distance to my advantage as Charmeleon could only critically attack from medium to close range.

"I sticked to my plan even though it would put me into a disadvantage." I said a little disappointed. Flint nodding at my words added a few more words.

"On top of this you got too tunnel visioned after your first few moves and didn't think about what move to use. Remember, you did use cover in the start but who said you couldn't do it again." Flint explained seriously.

"But what about me freezing up?" I questioned dad as I gripped Geodude's Pokeball a little.

"You don't need to worry about that, it happens to most trainers like your mother and Brock. This didn't happen to me but when I was helping Brock out this was a prevalent thing that will fix itself overtime."

Hearing this I nod at his words and start to get a glint in my eyes.

I was excited.

Extremely excited to have another Pokemon battle again.

"The next challenger should be here in a few hours so get ready." He announces which I just nod before heading to the back rooms to heal up Geodude.

"This battle will be an official match between Gym Trainer Forrest and ______ from _____. The battle will be a one on one and the winner is if their opponents Pokemon faint."

Hearing the familiar words of the referee, we both sent out our Pokemon.

*Phssszszst*

"Nido!"

"Geodude!"

With both Pokemon now locked into a stare, the referee starts the match.

"BEGIN!"

"Behind cover and use Rock Polish."

"Take Down!"

Geodude getting behind cover, uses {Rock Polish} to set itself up which was almost the exact same play as before.

Nidoran male engulfs itself in a white hue as it rushes at the rock.

'I should keep a distance.' I think to myself seeing that Geodude has finished his move.

"Geodude use {Rollout} to escape and use {Rock Throw}!"

*Crack* *Crash*

Nidoran rammed into the boulder which made the whole thing collapse. With Geodude now out of the way due to {Rollout}.

Geodude slams the floor and grabs a chunk of rock.

"Now!" I shout seeing that Nidoran was still recovering from its move.

"Dodge the attack Nidoran!" The opponent shouts but to his dismay his Pokemon couldn't dodge.

*Boom*

The impact between the rock and Nidoran soemhow made an explosion which sent the little guy back a couple of huge steps.

"Get up and use {Double Kick} Nidoran!"

"Don't give up your advantage, {Rock Throw}!" I shout. With Nidoran at a distance, Geodude didn't let up as he kept of chucking pieces of boulders towards the poor Nidoran.

Fortunately for me Nidoran didn't train much as it mostly ran in a straight line to Geodude.

*Crash!*

"Nidoo!" The Pokemon cries out as it gets hit with another hurling rock. Seeing that my win condition is to stay at a distance due to the revealed {Double Kick}.

I don't give up the advantage and get Geodude to make more space between the two.

"Keep it up Geodude!"

With the victory now in my sights, I just had to wait a little more till I won. And to my expectations, after a few more {Rock Throw} a decisive hit impacted Nidoran sending it flying.

*Boom*

Hitting the gym wall, Nidoran falls down with swirls in its eye's signalling my win. The referee seeing the downed Pokemon quickly announces the match.

"With Nidoran fainted, the winner is Geodude. Making Forrest the victor!" The referee announces which I pump my fist up in celebration.

Geodude floating up to me, starts to celebrate as well with the challenger soon after leaving the gym.

"Well done Forrest, that battle was played better than your last one." Flint comments ruffling my hair. Accepting dads form of affection, I return Geodude back to his Pokeball.

"I'll get ready for the last battle today." I tell dad as he smiles at my words.

"Winning feels great right? If you want to keep it up then you'll have to train up Geodude and you're future Aron."

Hearing this I nod at his words before heading to the training ground that was in another section of the gym.

The gym was a huge place and it has two extra training grounds with things like weights, obstacle courses and an extra battlefield.

Dad made this place to train his own Pokemon and help out me and my siblings when they got older. Brocks already told me about this place and said that I should take advantage of the equipment.

"I should check what other things my Pokedex can do." I murmur seeing that it could connect to the wifi. Opening it up I realise that the thing was touch screen.

Going through a few apps I released that the thing functioned like a normal phone.

"The Pokemon world is already quite advanced." I say to myself seeing that soemthing called Foogle exists which is a clear rip off of my worlds Google.

There was an app called Pokebook which stands for PocketBook which is similar to Facebook.

'I should search up some well known names.'

As a curious guy I wanted to search up Giovanni but realised that he has a porygon and could potentially get me in trouble.

So I opted to search up Lance Wataru.

Dragon Master, Champion of Johto, Elite four of Kanto, Caped menace.

Pokemon: Dragonite, Dragonair, Aerodactyl, Gyarados ✨, Zweilous, Gabite, Charizard, Kingdra, Salamance, Swablue, Axew, Trapinch.

(~~~~)

Seeing Lance's profile and a few pictures of him and his Pokemon, I realised that the population probably regard the guy as a hero.

He's a champion and an elite four for two regions which is the pinnacle someone could reach as a trainer.

Also the population of this planet isn't as large as on Earth so 350k is equivalent to around several million followers from what I think.

"Let me search up a few more." I murmur seeing that this could work out.

[Cynthia Shirona]

Champion of Sinnoh, Icecream Scientist, Archeology nerd, #Macadamia Icecream for the win, #Garchomp.

Pokemon: Garchomp, Gastrodon, Milotic, Roserade, Lucario, Togekiss, Rufflet, Elektrik.

Cynthia seemed to be praised as the hero of her region as well being the champion. Surprisingly enough I didn't see her Pokemon Spiritomb in her bio. That means she either hasn't found it and I don't remember when she got it.

Or she's hiding the Pokemon away from the public. Nothing too much to worry about though. It's good to know that my knowledge isn't too skewed as I can't remember everything.

There's one more person I want to check though.

[Leon Dande]

Youngest Champion, Monarch, Worlds best, Undefeated, #Charizard.

Pokemon: Charizard, Seismitoad, Haxorus, Dragapult, Aegislash, Mr, Rime, Rhyperior, Scorbunny, Sobble, Grookey.

"I guess Leon is the current Monarch of the Pokemon world." I murmur seeing his profile. Hopping off Pokebook, I search on foogle for some information on the guy.

There were a lot of articles about him that dated back all the way till he was ten.

[Galar's Bright Star]

[Trainer being sponsored by our beloved Chairman?]

[Youngest Champion alive!]

[First Monarch of Galar!]

Seeing all these titles I started to read some out of curiosity before I heard a voice.

"Forrest! The challenger is here get ready." Flint shouts from across the training hall. Realising that two hours have passed by without much though.

I hurriedly picked up Geodude's Pokeball and head off to the stage.

"This battle will be an official match between Gym Trainer Forrest and ______ from _____. The battle will be a one on one and the winner is if their opponents Pokemon faint."

Hearing this for the third time today I smirk. Battling will be a daily occurrence in my life and I may as well make the most of it.

'I can't wait for my starter.' I though just before the battle begun.

Gripping my Pokeball, I hear the referee speak.

"BEGIN!"
