5 Selling Pokemon and Shopping!

After Eevee fell asleep, Alan kept her in his arms to be more comfortable with him and went downstairs where his parents were waiting for him.

As they saw Alan walking downstairs with Eevee in his hands, Alex spoke in a soft voice, "I can tell you like her."

"Her? How did you know the gender?" he asked, puzzled.

"I am a pokemon researcher, and I can tell these things by a simple look. Make sure you take good care of her," he answered before he said something else, "I have already opened a bank account under your name; you can go to the pokemon centre and sell the other pokemons and receive the money for it."

Alan nodded his head, but then he made a worried expression, 'Wouldn't it raise suspicion?' he thought.

"It would not be suspicious; the number of pokemon sold in the market every day is more than you can ever imagine; these transactions are also kept anonymous. Unless you abuse your pokemon, League would never interfere in anything. It is better than pokemons being sold in the black market where they get mistreated and abused," as Alex explained, Alan came to a new understanding.

But the main thing he picked up from this short conversation was 'Black market.'

He had heard about it on the internet, but he had never been to that place. Whatever you want, you can get it there for the right price, whatever.

"Then I will go to the pokemon centre today and list these pokemons for sale so I can buy something useful for Eve," he said while nodding his head.

"Is that the name you have given her?" asked Ellie from the side, "it is an adorable name."

"What did you guys want to talk about anyway?" he asked, as he could tell his parents wanted to tell him something but were holding back.

Ellie immediately tensed up while Alex gave a long sigh before breaking out the news.

"My research has born some fruit, and I am about to get to work with some top pokemon professors in the world. However, that would mean I would have to leave very soon," explained Alex.

He worked on unique research, and it had finally gotten recognition. The league called him to work with other top professors to bring his research to fruition.

"And what is there to be sad about? Is that not happy news?" said Alan with an exciting look.

"It is, but I would have to leave very soon, and your mother would be coming with me since I need her help," as Alex explained the last part, he finally understood why his parents were having a hard time telling him about it, "that means you would have to live by yourself for some time."

"The best part about it is that you will be attending Pokemon school and would be staying in the dorms, so we are not that worried," added Ellie from the side.

They both thought Alan might not like the news, but to their shock, Alan gave them a significant nod, "did you think I would be sad? I am a bit, but I cannot always live with you guys. Eventually, I have to get used to it, sooner the better. Dad also got such a great opportunity; it would be very selfish of me if I asked you two to stay with me even after that."

"*SIGH*, Since when did you become so mature?" asked Ellie as she looked at her son.

"He always was; it's you who is childish," replied Alex from the side, but he immediately regretted it as he felt a dark aura looming over him.

"Guess who is sleeping on the couch again?" she said with a dark smile that sent chills down the spine of both Alex and Alan.

"Alan, have you decided on what kind of weapon you would choose?" without waiting for even a second, Alex hurriedly changed the subject.

Understanding his father's plight, Alan hurriedly answered, "you should not call mom immature. That is not a good thing," he turned towards his mom with a serious face, "right, mom?"

He then gave Alex an evil grin before he walked towards the main door to sell off the other pokemons and not get caught up in the crossfire.

"You brat!!" called Alex when he saw Alan running away, but before he could say anything else, Ellie had walked up to him with a sweet smile on her face.

"It's a Katana if you still wondering," he shouted while he went out of the house.

"I will pay you back for this!!"

He heard a loud yell from his house, but he ignored it and walked towards the stairs that led you down from the treetops.

The pokemon centre was in the centre of the town, and it took him about fifteen minutes of walk before he reached there.

Without waiting further, he entered the Pokemon Centre and headed towards the first floor. The difference between Arcelia city and Woodcastle town's Pokemon Centre was apparent. While the former was packed with people and pokemon, the number of trainers and their pokemons was significantly less.

As he entered the first floor, a different view came into his eyes. This floor had a lot more people than he could have imagined, and from what he could imagine, there was an auction going on.

"Look, it's a deep yellow potential, Seel."

"I bet its price would go way higher than the original price."

"If only we could get a potential green pokemon, my team would get a great boost in strength."

"Green potential? You should know how rare they are. Even if one did come, we would never be able to buy them since all the rich trainers would make sure to get them for themselves."

As he walked through a sea of people, he heard a different conversation going on and ignored everything; he made his way to a machine with slots for pokeballs. He placed his Pokedex upon the scanner, and it lit up with a lot of information.

This was a Pokemon Selling Machine or PSM. You could use this in any Pokemon Centre to sell or buy your pokemons. It will show you results for the items placed for sale throughout the region you were in.

Without waiting any further, Alan placed four pokeballs in the slots and the very next moment, they disappeared.

The machine automatically registered four pokeballs, and now Alan could use his Pokedex to either sell or trade them. He did not show any hesitation and put a light green potential pokemon up for sale.

He made his way towards the second floor as he did not want to be part of the commotion that was about to take place.

"Is that a light green potential pokemon?" someone shouted as he looked at his Pokedex, and sure enough, as soon as he said it, the crowd went wild, and everyone started bidding for the pokemon.

All the pokemon below deep yellow had fixed prices, but anything deep yellow or above was auctioned off.

Besides selling off his pokemon, Alan had another reason he needed to visit the Pokemon Centre. That was to buy a suitable bed for Eevee and buy a weapon for himself with a set of basic skills to learn it. The pokestore within the Pokemon Centre had everything one might need for a pokemon, as well as yourself.

As he reached the second floor, the crowd here was no less than the first, maybe more since people would often buy resources than a pokemon itself. There were pokeballs, berries, pokeblocks, travelling bags, camps, weapons or, in general, everything that a trainer needs.

As Alan walks through the second-floor market, he receives a notification from his Pokedex.

[The pokemon (Pidove) placed for auction has been sold}

[Starting price: 5.5 million Pokedollars]

[Selling price: 11.5 million Pokedollars]

His steps halted that very moment as he saw the number for which the pokemon was sold.

11.5 million Pokedollars, and that is just from 1 pokemon. He still had three more, while one of the three was a grade higher than the current.

He took in a deep breath and opened his bank account on his Pokedex.

[Pokegram Notification (Mom): Aww!! Such a cute Eevee, just like my son.]

'So embarrassing.'

Ignoring the notification, he opened the bank account, and there were currently 11.5 million pokedollars in it.

He gave a wide grin when he saw that number, 'The number of resources that could be bought with it is insane but not enough. It's good that I have three more pokemon left.'

The very next moment, he put another pokemon for sale and closed the Pokedex.

'Now that I think about it, I have not identified Eevee with my Pokedex,' he thought and then raised his Pokedex towards Eevee so that it could scan it.

[Eevee.

Type: Normal.

Level: 1

Stage: Baby Stage.

Blood Bond: None.

Ability: *Unidentified*

Innate Skill: ???

Possible Moves: Tackle, Tail Whip, Quick Attack. (There could be more or less than what has been shown)

IM (Improvised Moves): None

TM: None]

'So it does not show the ability? As for the moves, it says 'possible moves.' Does that mean it cannot accurately identify them?'

Confused by the information gathered by the Pokedex, Alan went to the internet to understand what this meant. He read through a few articles before he finally concluded.

'Ability of a pokemon is only known once used, whereas some moves could be improvised. For example, Flamethrower is just breathing out the fire. Who is stopping a trainer and pokemon from using the fire in different ways? Hence, it is not easy to correctly identify a pokemon's moves other than the standard ones, while accurate information could only be found once you have caught a pokemon or made a blood bond.'

He finally understood why the Pokedex had not given him much information, 'to understand everything about a pokemon just by a simple scan? It is the same as understanding human nature with a scan. However, humans could be different on the outside but something else inside. Pokemons are just as intelligent as humans, so how could it be possible to understand them so easily?'

'As for the 'possible moves,' there is also the fact that Eve is still in baby stage and there might be more moves that she would learn; hence it is hard to know all her moves currently.'

While he was in the middle of his thoughts, he felt a small nuzzle in his chest, and a smile appeared on his face.

"So you are finally awake?" Alan spoke to Eve, who was rubbing her eyes with his paws. He immediately took another picture of her.

"Eve eveee," she cried out when she heard Alan's voice, but then it was stunned when it saw its surroundings. Unlike the peaceful atmosphere at home, the second floor of Pokemon Centre was filled with people. Alan thought Eevee would not be used to it but to his surprise, the little pokemon tried to jump out of his hands to run around.

"So you like the crowd?" he asked not expecting it to understand his words yet, "lets go do some shopping, we need to buy a comfortable bed for you."

Alan, with Eve in his arms walked across the market and stopped whenever he would see something interesting. He was also on a lookout for any good TMs for Eve along with some elixirs which could increase her potential.

She was really close to being a Dark Blue, the difference would be huge if he could get her there as soon as possible. As he explored the market he finally came across a shop that had his attention, a store with pokemon furniture.

He immediately went inside and bought the best bed there was for Eve. Once agin it was time to roam around the market but just in few steps he stopped. There in front of him was a TM shop and he could see some of the TMs he would definitely need for Eve.

He walked into the store and was greeted by a young girl in her early twenties.

"How can I help you?" she asked politely.

"I will buy those two TMs," he came straight to the point. The girl was shocked when she saw what he was pointing at but then happily went ahead and brought the two out fo him.

"TM: Protect and TM: Shadow Ball, the total for them would be 350,000 pokedollars," she said and without even baiting an eye, Alan paid for both of them.

'I am going to get good profit from this,' thought the girl as the employees would get a cut if they made a big sale, 'he looks like a rich young master, maybe I should sell him few more things?'

Eevee who was in Alan's hands looked up before tilting her head and looking at the girl.

"What is it Eve?" asked Alan when he saw her behaviour but soon she went back to nuzzling in his arms.

Not minding Eve's actions, the girl spoke in a soft voice, "sir, would you like to buy anymore TMs or anything else?"

"If you have any rare TMs, sure or is there anything you would suggest."

"Please come this way, I will show you our best products."

Suddenly his Pokedex gave him a notification and when he saw what it was, a wide smile appeared on his face.

Another pokemon was sold and next moment he put another one for sale.
