Pokemon: Battle Spirits

*Warning* This will not be your common Pokemon fanfic, but instead, would be designed by my original ideas. Do not expect everything you see in the original Pokemon series/games to be seen here. This fanfic will contain an overpowered mc. If you are not a fan of this, feel free to leave as I do not welcome any ranting about it. Synopsis: Lucian, a human from Earth who only retained memories related to pokemon has been reincarnated as the eldest son of the royal family of a powerful empire. He thought that it would be a relatively peaceful world until he discovered their existence... the pokemon. However, unlike his own knowledge of them, the abilities of people in this world seemed a bit strange... With all these changes however, it seemed god had not truly abandoned him, giving him a mysterious and incredibly powerful ability to boot. How will Lucian serve his purpose in this new world? *Disclaimer* I do not hold any ownership of the pokemon besides my OCs.

The World Of Pokemon... Battle Spirits!

Demiurge Realm.

Demiurge Empire Capital City.

In the wide streets of the Empire's Capital City, countless people gathered around a giant theater, floating above the ground. The eyes of people focused on the people in the theater, teenagers who were currently undergoing their Pokemon Awakening.

What is Pokemon Awakening, some may ask?

Pokemon Awakening, also known as Battle Spirit Awakening, is a special method of awakening one's inner Pokemon Battle Spirit, something that only some people are able to awaken. One must reach the age of 18 in order to awaken their Pokemon, the age where the maturity of their soul reaches a new stage.

Those who are able to wield the power of their Pokemon Battle Spirit are called Pokemon Trainers, referring to the journey that is yet to come... to train their Pokemon to strive to become stronger.

Amongst all the youth on the stage, only a certain group were the most eye-catching. And amongst the group, the young man in the lead, was the person that caught the most stares.

This person was Lucian. Lucian von Demiurge. Crown Prince of the Demiurge Empire, the next ruler of the Demiurge Realm and its subordinate realms.

If it was not obvious enough from the name, the Demiurge Empire was the ruler of the colossal Demiurge Realm. Amongst all the realms in the galaxy, which were called the Hundred Realm Cluster, nine of those realms were under and worked for the Demiurge Empire.

The Demiurge Empire is one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful force in the Hundred Realm Cluster. Naturally, with that kind of status, Lucian had gained most of the attention on the stage.

The next Emperor of this powerful force... who wouldn't be interested in him?

However, despite all the stares, Lucian kept his calm look, already used to the attention.

Under that calm look, however, was his excited raging spirit.

He kept a secret that he only knew, deep within his mind. He was someone who had reincarnated from Earth, albeit the only things he remembered were the things related to Pokemon, mystical beings of strange but strong power. With his luck, he had become the Crown Prince of a powerful Empire.

However, this was not the kind of world he thought it would be, and immediately discovered the existence of the Pokemon Battle Spirits, unlike the ones in his memory where they were stored in items called Pokeballs, they were instead stored within one's soul, where only those who were born with the ability to properly wield them could utilize their power.

Although a person could build a bond with a pokemon from the outside world and eventually become partners with them, there was still a significant difference to the one you were born with.

Therefore, although some of his previous life's knowledge was down the drain, there was still at least some information that would be useful to him.

With just this, he was already thankful enough for what he had. However, it seemed that God truly loved him, and even gained two special abilities.

The Roulette and Scan.

Scan helped him see a Pokemon's level and moves, which is a very useful ability to plan out his moves in a battle.

The Roulette is a magical ability that gives him the ability to awaken a random legendary pokemon as his battle spirit.

That's right.

A legendary pokemon.

What kind of concept was this in this new world?

Well, over the past few years, he had been searching for information about legendary pokemon.

However, even with the huge variety of information that he could get from the Empire, the only information about them he could find was almost little to none, history books mentioning some appearances during the ancient times.

Despite their rare appearances, however, a very small amount of people in the past had awakened a legendary pokemon as their battle spirits. With one of them being the First Emperor of the Demiurge Empire, Lucian's ancestor, Red Demiurge.

Judging from the historical texts, Red had awoken the legendary pokemon Mewtwo, with a 2-star legendary grade to boot.

Pokemon were split into different potential grades.

Common.

Uncommon.

Rare.

Ultra Rare.

Epic.

Pseudo-Legendary.

Legendary.

Each grade had a sub-class of 1-3 stars, the more stars, the better.

And while potential grades did not represent a pokemon's strength, it was different for legendary pokemon who were the cream of the crop, born with powerful strength and an immense arsenal of skills. Unfortunately, with no one being able to awaken a legendary as their battle spirit since the ancient times, there was no more important information about them.

Today was the day he was finally able to use his Roulette ability, the day he will be able to awaken his Pokemon Battle Spirit.

If it wasn't for his etiquette training as a prince, then perhaps he wouldn't be able to contain his excitement.

Becoming the first Legendary Pokemon Trainer since ancient times, what kind of concept was that?

With this kind of ability, he would be able to build his ideal world.

...

While Lucian was imagining what his future held, a couple of people suddenly appeared in front of them.

As soon as the teens on the stage laid eyes on them, they instantly knew who they were, the Pokemon Trainers that were going to help them awaken their Pokemon Battle Spirit!

In order to help awaken, the assistance of other Pokemon Trainers was needed in giving pressure to one's soul, pushing them to awaken their Pokemon and counter this pressure. If one is unable to awaken a Pokemon after being pressurized for a while, then it meant that that person did not have the inborn talent of a Pokemon Trainer and could only rely on external means to bond with a Pokemon.

Awakening a Pokemon Battle Spirit was only seen in 1 in every 100,000 people.

This meant that in 1 billion people, there were only 10 thousand awakened Pokemon Trainers.

And with the population of the Demiurge Realm reaching over a trillion, then there were at least 10 million awakened Pokemon Trainers.

Being an awakened Pokemon Trainer meant that you would have a closer bond and an easier time utilizing your Pokemon's abilities to their full potential. Not only that, you would grow much faster than bonded ones.

...

One by one, each youth on the stage had a Pokemon Trainer facing them, each one releasing their Pokemons.

WHOOSH!

Roars of different types of pokemon immediately sounded as they were released, gaining the awe of the audience and most of the youths who were looking forward to awakening their own.

Lucian looked at the pokemon in front of him.

[Graveler]

Level: 27

Grade: 2-star Rare

Moves:

Defense Curl - The user curls up to conceal weak spots and raise Defense.

Rock Throw - The foe is attacked with a shower of medium-sized, easily thrown rocks.

Descriptions: Graveler is a bipedal, boulder Pokémon. Its round body is covered with small bumps and it has a rocky crest above its small eyes and mouth. It has four arms, each with a three-fingered hand. Its second pair of arms is typically kept tucked against its chest.

Oh?

Lucian looked at the Pokemon Trainer who sent out Graveler. A well-built middle-aged man with chocolate-colored skin, seemingly shining from the sun's rays reflecting on him.

A Pokemon's level always corresponds with its trainer. A lever 27 trainer was already a powerful person, every 10 levels, a Pokemon is able to unlock a move. A Graveler is a pokemon with powerful defense, able to defend itself from the attacks of multiple pokemon. Not to mention a move like Defense Curl that completely supported it. It was the perfect tank on a battlefield.

Undoubtedly, his identity as the Crown Prince had a lot of perks. Having a more powerful trainer to help him would speed up the process of awakening. However, with his overpowered ability, there was no more need for that.

"Are you ready, your highness?"

The Graveler's trainer flashed a smile at him, seemingly able to understand his first thoughts.

"Go ahead." Lucian showed a rare confident smile and closed his eyes.

With this indication, the Graveler's trainer, along with other Pokemon Trainers on the stage, started to release an invisible pressure to weigh upon the youths.

Most of them immediately fell down on the ground, unable to cope with the powerful force. This indicated that they don't have a strong will or a slumbering pokemon inside of them to at least help a little even while in slumber.

While all of this was happening, Lucian was already looking at the giant roulette in his head, with the names of many legendary pokemon on it.

With a hand gesture, the wheel started to spin, the giant silhouettes of legendary pokemon appearing one by one.

The wheel slowly started to stop, as it rested upon a specific name, putting a grin on Lucian's face.

Not sure how good update stability will be, I'll post chapters when I can.

Give me power stones, review the novel, and add it to your library. Thanks.

Will probably give a bonus chapter if the novel reaches 50 power stones at an early stage. Who knows.

If you noticed the hint I gave out and who this Legendary Pokemon would be, then good job.
