10 Chapter Ten

"You think this will be better? Or this?"

I ask Shinx on my head as he looks at the Lace-up combat boots I chose. One was black, while the other was brown.

"Shinx!"

He chose the black one, a good choice.

Placing the brown ones back I sat down and tried on my size. Moving my leg around and feeling mighty comfortable I nodded and took it off, putting on the ones I owned and Grabbing the other pair of combat boots.

I was too used to them, the Waterproof shoes felt... Too uncomfortable, too light, sometimes I forgot I had shoes on. It was a lapse in judgment, but I wouldn't just throw away the waterproof shoes, I would donate them to a homeless shelter.

Paying for the Combat boots, I put them on and store my previous shoes in my bag.

As I walked out of the store, feeling much more comfortable, I started walking back to the hotel I was staying at.

I hummed for a moment, my eyes narrowing in thought. Water, grass, fighting, steel... I could teach Shinx Double Kick to get a super effective move for the gym, quick attack too maybe.

I sighed as I tilted my head forward, Shinx sliding off my head and falling into my arms.

He looked up at me curiously.

"Shinx?"

I chuckle as I continue to walk, my gaze flowing up into the dark sky. The night had fallen already, long ago, and yet, I was still out...

I dig into my pocket, take out my phone, and go into my contacts, I have the numbers of my men, only a few retired... the rest of them dead. I scroll a little, reading the C section and looking at the first name.

"You think I should call her?"

I ask nobody in particular.

Shinx gave out a curious sound and I shrugged. If I did call her, what was the guarantee that she still had the same number? What would I tell her?

I thought about it..."Hello, Cynthia, I know I have been away for a few years, but hey! I'm back now, wanna meet up and talk about that relationship I passed up on before I went to another region and disappeared?"... Yeah, no.

I sighed again, running a hand through my hair. I never realized what I lost until it was already too late...

"I'm such a fuck up..."

I mutter. But hey, I was a strong Fuck up... The strongest the Black ops had to offer... The best Black ops had to offer...

I narrow my eyes and I look back at my phone for a moment and cancel the Gym battle I would have in six days.

Fuck that...

I would not be able to use Shinx anyway in the battle, once the gym leader looked at my badges, he would use his main team.

Without a word, I headed toward the Pokemon center, I had preparations to make...

___

I watch, my face blank as my team battles it out under increased gravity, Given, it seemed like they had no trouble with it doing it.

Zoroark landed on the side of the giant vine, made with Wild Vine as two smaller Vines pierced his chest, Only for him to flicker out and My Sceptile to be blasted back as Zoroark came out of his illusion he put up some time along the battle.

A steam of Hydropump passed in the air behind the twos battlers, a roar of a dragon following a second later, along with an explosion.

Fire roared a small distance away, a few trees falling, cut close at their roots, revealing Iron Valiant and Ceruledge clashing, their blades struggling for a split second before they broke apart.

Ground breaks apart in front of me, due to avoided air cutters, as I don't even blink or look up at Alakazam and Corviknight duking it out in the air, my psychic type keeping himself afloat with the use of Psychic.

I looked to the side, the area where my entire team was avoiding sending any attacks that way.

Shinx was Training, visibly struggling and Chansey used Heal pulse to heal his muscles periodically, speeding up his training considerably. The people in this world lack this thing called "IQ" They have a Pokemon that is basically a cheat to strength.

I look back at the team. Chansey would get stronger, her Gravity would get stronger and Finally, in a bit, my team would no longer need to hold back when training to actually get better...

Right now, they were just training to keep their power under better control.

I take a deep breath.

The sight of Chansey still brings some pain, but now is not the time to think about the past. I would deal with it, like I always did.
