123 The Beach Chapter

"It's the beach!"

Feeling relieved that there wasn't going to be a giant wall of water crashing down on us today, we all decided to get our beach party started!

Soon the majority of the kids in this area began to convene around us as they tried seeing my pokemon up close, all of which were more than happy to comply. Even my Gyarados, who were known for their extreme temperment.

I watched with a warm smile as Blastoise danced while lightly spraying water into the air so that it rained down on the kids like a sprinkler, and Buizel darted around the kids too and fro to also play in the water. Meanwhile, my Gyarados and Miltoic were in the water while several children used them as jungle gyms and slides to jump into the ocean with. At the same time Miltank and Tauros were lounging in the sun, and Charizard had shocked everyone else at the beach by plunging into the water to train some more.

Misty was down by the water, as always, with her own pokemon as they all splashed around happily in the surf. Dawn on the other hand was busy making a sand castle with her own pokemon, which looked as if it was going to be amazing. May was playing with hers as they batted a large beach ball around, which Combusken was more than happy kick around while jumping through the air. Joy however was just sitting in the shade of the umbrellas with her Chansey and Ditto, reading a medical textbook. To each their own I guess...

While each of the girls were doing their own thing, I put my fingers in my mouth and gave a shrill whistle.

I played with my pokemon in this way for a while, launching myself out of the water repeatedly and diving from frighteningly high drops. When I started getting thirsty, I went in to the beach to get a drink.

"Here you go Ace." Joy said, giving me an iced drink that she probably got from one of the vendors wandering the beach.

"Thank you Joy." I answered before taking a long sip of the Rawst berry drink. Delicious.

"Hey Ace!"

I looked up to see Misty hurrying towards us with a board under each arm.

"Up for catching some waves?" She asked while offering me one of them.

"I'll give it a try." I said while accepting one of the boards, and following her to surf. It was my first time surfing, but I was excited to try it.

Joining us out in the waves was Misty's Seaking and my Blastoise, who decided to go for a swim as well since most of the kids from earlier had dispersed.

The four of us swam out to where the waves were while Misty explained the basics of surfing to me, which mostly sounded like balance. Unfortuantely, it took quite a bit more than that.

The first time I tried taking a wave, I ended up flying face-first into the surf.

Thankfully Blastoise was beneath me, allowing me to hitch a ride by grabbing onto the edge of his shell while planting my feet in the middle of it.

"How's this?" I asked Misty when we resurfaced, stupifying her as we blasted right by.

None of us felt like putting out clothes on over our wet swimsuits, but we still wanted to cover our bodies when the night air began blowing onto our sun-kissed skin.
