449 CH82 (446), Towards The Second Phase (1)

Honestly, being the last one to work on something in a project that was officially considered complete was not that great a feeling. Even though both James and Professor Oak had told us that it was fine and that we just had to focus on finishing our Arctic Heart project without any worry, there was still this invisible feeling of pressure to hurry up and finish as well to join the rest on the Leafeon side.

While the ice zone had long melted, we still had to work on the true output of our Arctic Hearts, meaning the number of viable Arctic Hearts per batch. Currently, we had managed to raise it to 5.5 out of 10 from the previous 3, which was not bad for 3 weeks of work. We were really working as hard as we could because we wanted to move to the other side.

At the end of the following week, the increase in personnel over at the Leafeon project showed its effect since two project groups finished their product due to the additional input and work. Unfortunately, for both groups, their attempts failed, but that was something everyone was used to, so the two groups went back to work.

On Kyoday of the month's third week, something that I had been hoping would happen for some time now happened. Actually, I noticed it on Kyoday since that was the day I did one of my routine status checks, but Mienfoo might have finished the first round of her limit breaking before that.

Nonetheless, Kyoday/today was when I noticed it, which was why I was currently making sure that all the supplements I had prepared for this moment were problem free. Mienfoo had been waiting/wanting to reach this point for quite some time and I wanted to make sure everything was ready to give her the best possible evolution.

Thankfully there was no human error involved and everything was ready, so I walked to Mienfoo's habitat with her and her friends, who had been present when I checked her status screen, before announcing her upcoming evolution over Utopia FM to everyone. They all began trickling in, and the first one that appeared was naturally Mothra/Butterfree, who had directly teleported over as soon as I had announced the news.

The Spinda Squad came over as well, and I was starting to believe they really liked watching evolutions since they never missed one. They did not care that much about breakthroughs unless it was by someone they were close with. Either they liked the light show, or they were doing it to witness something they would never have, which was kinda sad.

Anyway, I stopped paying attention to the arrivals and began applying the pastes on Mienfoo's body. Once she was fully covered in 4 different kinds of salves and pastes, I asked her to open wide and have her drink the two tonics I had prepared.

Only, after she had gulped both down did I give a satisfied nod and began looking around to see if everyone was there, or if anyone was still coming over. Well, apparently everyone that wanted to come was here, since no one else was coming over, so I turned to Mienfoo, gave her a few encouraging words before I stepped back and joined the other in the circle.

I then gave her the signal and watched as she began to light up. The evolution went smoothly and as soon as the light show died down, we got to see a Mienshao standing at the place a Mienfoo had previously been at. I saw her curiously observing herself and giving the fur that went past her hands a shake.

I chuckled a bit at that while I made my way over to her. I stopped in front of her and saw that she now nearly reached up to my shoulders. By my estimation she had grown to, or rather her new form was about 150 to 155 cm tall, which compared to her previous one meter was a decent improvement.

Anyway, I hugged her and congratulated her before asking her how she felt. She barely managed to tell me that she felt great before the others arrived at our side and began congratulating her. I simply went with the flow and checked her new status screen.

Well, aside from the lack of an official name for her, which kinda caught my eye each time, the obvious change was the change in species. It had been close to a year since she had joined me and she was now a Mienshao instead of a Mienfoo. Ah, how quickly they were growing.

Nonetheless, moving on to her potential, I could proudly say that the stuff I prepared definitely proved useful since it gave her a potential boost of nearly 24%. It pushed her potential to deep purple and added another 16+% on top.

I shared the good news with Mienshao, who looked really happy with the news before I resumed looking through the status screen. I saw that nothing else had changed due to her evolution, so I closed the screen and focused back on everyone.

I then declared the start of the party, which was everyone's favorite part. They began cheering and cheerily watched as I began to set up everything for the party. Since we started the celebration rather early, it only went on until around 8 p.m, at least that was when I officially declared it over and left Utopia.

The moment I returned to my room, a few messages arrived on my smartphone that could not do so while I was in Utopia because I had not bothered leaving a connection open. Anyway, I checked the message and saw that it was the foreman from the construction company calling. I naturally called back and learned that they were finally done with the job.

Initially, the 3 buildings and 2 battlefields should have taken about 6 months, but there had been a nearly 3 months delay because I requested that they made doubly sure that the battlefields would have no negative effect whatsoever on the shelter/bunker below. For that, they had to reinforce the whole area below and around the battlegrounds which took time.

Anyway, I told him that I would go over tomorrow since I was free due to tomorrow being Grouday before I hung up. Then I decided to do some personal training to better my psychic and aura abilities in hopes of sometime in the future reaching Tier 3.

Just like Yoruichi had recommended, I did not force the issue of breaking through and instead focused on simply refining my mastery over the things I had already unlocked. My teleportation had never before been so smooth and the pause I had to take between teleportation had never been so short. In fact, my teleportation was slowly but surely moving from what we would consider short-range to mid-range.

Then there were my aura constructs, which had become more elaborate and I could now switch between models in but a moment. I also managed to reduce the size of the aura platforms I made whenever I wanted to run across the sky instead of flying/levitating around. Moreover, I managed to get so good at it that they only existed for the brief moment I stepped on them before they vanished, and I was saving serious amounts of aura that way.

Anyway, I kept alternatively manipulating either my aura or my psionic energy, while doing a body workout under the effects of a gravity stone that I put on my own body to increase the difficulty/strain. I naturally only could do those things simultaneously because I was making use of my second thought stream.

That went on until I was completely out of energy which took nearly three hours. Once I was truly spent, I put the gravity stone away and pulled out the tonics I prepared for myself. It was only after drinking those that I managed to muster the energy to push myself off the ground and head to my bed.

Still, I did not immediately go to sleep but first checked up on the Rattata project. Only after making sure everything was in order there, did I allow myself to fall into slumber. Though, I had to say that my second consciousness was only semi-sleeping since I kept an ear out inside Utopia in case something happened and one of my Pokemon needed something.

The next morning I woke up at 8 a.m. and freshened up before doing some light reading for an hour. After that, I began handing out breakfast and ate my own, before I left for Hope Town, but not to see my parents. No, I directly went to property no.2 and met up with the foreman as well as his boss.

They showed me everything and once I was satisfied, I paid them the rest of the money for the project. After that was settled, I brought the two to property no.3 and showed them the plan/map I made that detailed what I wanted to do with this plot.

I already had permission for the stream part of my plans, so they did not have to worry about it. Since I was not in much of a hurry I gave them 1 month with a 2 weeks safety net to give me a full cost estimate, and project plan according to the map I gave them.

After they agreed, I made my way home since there was no way I could come to Hope Town without paying my parents a visit. I stayed until after dinner and went back to Pallet City at around 8 p.m.

I ended up receiving a surprise about an hour later when Mars/Ursasol declared that he had reached the (high) gold stage. It took him about 9 months to raise his Agility to D, and his Endurance to C, which was what helped push him to (high) gold.

On Arcday, my group at the lab resumed its efforts on the Arctic Heart production, and on Palkiday we managed to raise the output to 7.5 out of 10. Naturally, we did not want to leave for the weekend without trying our hardest to turn that into an 8, so we stayed overtime on Dialday despite James' urging. Thankfully, the last two batches did achieve our desired ratio, so we were able to leave a few minutes after 8 p.m.

Another piece of good news decided not to make me wait too long for it. Yep, the next morning Gwen/Gardevoir showed that she had reached the (high) gold stage. This was a bit faster than I had expected.

It had been more than half a year since she had reached the (mid) gold stage, and I thought it would take her about three-fourths instead. However, it seemed that the action Gwen had seen during this time had been enough stimulation to speed up the progress a bit.
