Once everyone had arrived, I told them to make some room for Parvati/Beedrill's breakthrough. While they began circling her, Fortuna/Togekiss, Prime/Beedrill, and I went up to Parvati to hug her. We obviously also wished her good luck, before retreating. Once we had joined the others, I gave Parvati the signal and she initiated her breakthrough.

When Parvati began to shine a little bit a few seconds into her breakthrough I was not all that surprised since she had already attained light aurora potential during her last breakthrough, so I was expecting her to unlock something. Looking at the current situation, it appeared as if she was going to unlock a talent of some kind.

However, I was forced to reconsider that opinion when more energy started to be drawn to Parvati and the light she was exuding began to grow increasingly brighter. Obviously, I along with everyone else got really excited when that happened since this was an indicator that something big was happening.

Whether this was an indication of her royal gene upgrading, or of her gaining a second modifier, I/we did not know, but the commotion it was causing guaranteed that it was definitely something significant, at least that was what my/our experience so far had taught us.

It took a bit longer than usual, but eventually, the breakthrough ended, and Parvati's dark gold stage undulations spread. Everyone could not help but exclaim in wonder as well as shock when they saw Parvati in all her glory, and the Beedrill had an even more exaggerated reaction. They were straight up kneeling on the ground and buzzing in happiness as well as veneration.

The reason for everyone's reaction was obvious at first glance. What had not changed, was that Parvati was still sporting her white fluffy-looking mane around her neck along with the marks/lines on her head that somewhat resembled a crown, as well as the lines on her wings. Height-wise she appeared to be the same as well, so still about 220 to 230 cm in height. Not truly sure about that one since she might have grown a few centimeters, which honestly was not enough to stand out.

While those were impressive enough and made her certainly stand out among Beedrill, two "big" changes were responsible for our amazement. First of all, Parvati had actually gained another pair of arms, and unlike her original set, these arms had 3 clawed hands attached to them. One might think that the sudden addition of another pair of arms might look a bit out of place, but surprisingly that was not the case. The new pair of arms was located right between the pair of lances as well as her legs, and it was about as long as her first pair.

It was just that instead of "stingers", this pair had fingers/hands, so it appeared quite a bit shorter than the first set of arms, which was why it somehow did not look out of place. Honestly, it actually looked pretty good, especially with the fluff rings/brackets she had around her wrists, which made her look a bit classy. More importantly, I was sure that Parvati would enjoy being able to properly hold stuff since that used to be a problem with her stinger arms.

Anyway, aside from this rather big addition/change, the second one was quite obvious as well and immediately stood out. Parvati had gained some kind of honeycomb-like dress, which kind of reminded me a bit of the one Vespiquen had, but compared to that one, Parvati's "dress" was slimmer, and she still had her stinger peeking out of her dress, though from the way she was behaving right now, it appeared that she could retract as well as extend that stinger at will.

She honestly looked incredible and from the regal aura/atmosphere she was exuding, I was pretty sure that it was her royal gone that underwent an upgrade, though I could not be absolutely sure since the change could have also been triggered by her unlocking another gene, such as the ancient one, and their subsequent fusion/melding.

Heck, it was even possible that the change in her looks and the pressure were due to separate reasons, such as one being caused by a modifier change and the other being due to a talent she ended up unlocking. Regardless, of which one it was, I could not know for sure until I took a look at her new/updated status sheet. Hence, I made my way over to Parvati's side and congratulated her on her successful breakthrough as well as the apparent changes she had undergone.

My actions "roused" the others out of their "reverie", and they, with Prime in the lead, rushed over as well to congratulate Parvati as well. The Beedrill Corps moved closer as well since they wanted to be closer to their queen, but still maintained a certain distance to give us some room to do our thing. I naturally did not wait for long before I started to check out Parvati's new status sheet to satisfy my own as well as everyone else's curiosity.

'Name: Parvati

Species: Beedrill

Gender: Female

Age: 10+ years

-

Type: Bug, Poison

Potential: Light Aurora (26.87%)*

{Light Aurora (3.58%) -> (3.74%) -> Deep Purple (73.74) -> Light Aurora (26.87%)}'

The increase in potential was a bit lower than I had initially expected, but that was no surprise since she had unlocked a modifier of some kind. Looking at the numbers, I knew that she had suffered a loss of 30% in exchange for her modifier, but that did not tell me if her royal gene underwent an upgrade or if she unlocked a second Level 1 modifier since both the upgrade from a Level 1 to a Level 2 modifier as well as the unlocking of a Level 1 modifier cost 30% of the Pokemon's potential inside Utopia.

I decided to stop speculating what could be, and instead quickly looked at the next section to see what exactly had changed. What I saw confirmed that my initial guess had been right after all. Parvati had become a full-fledged Queen Bee after all, becoming exactly what the nickname I gave her long before she chose her current name implied.

'(Genetic) Modifier: Queen (King)*'

With this Parvati had "caught up" to Mothra/Butterfree, at least modifier-wise. Well, actually, her new gene also raised her BS/RV from the ~493 she had as a royal to ~592 she now had as a queen, which was nearly 200 points higher than the 395 RV a regular Beedrill had, and it also happened to be exactly how much RV Mothra currently had.

Moreover, Parvati was now, just like Mothra, a spitting distance away from the apex species barrier of 600 BS/RV. Everyone began to cheer when I shared the great news with them. Surprisingly, it was Mothra who rushed up to Parvati first to hug and congratulate her, not Prime. She happily chittered away saying how happy she was that Parvati had become a queen as well, and I had to smile when I saw Parvati go along with Motrha's animated flow.

She would have usually acted a bit more stoically due to her feelings of rivalry, but she was obviously too happy to bother acting like that. Seeing them act like this, even Prime took a step back. He did not try to disrupt them, and simply watched/waited for them to calm down a bit, not to mention the others.

Only once that happened did they go up to Parvati to congratulate her as well. I, who had been watching all this and found it quite entertaining, did naturally not stop looking through the rest of Parvati's status sheet. The next few sections remained unchanged and only when I made it to the ones that were guaranteed to be affected did I see some changes.

'Bond: Mikail (deep)*

Quirks: Hardworking

----

Parameters:

Stage: Dark Gold Stage (mid)*

Vitality: D

Strength: B

Endurance: E

Agility: C

Energy Capacity: E

Energy Density: C'

I had naturally felt the deepening of our bond, just like all of us had felt the (mid) dark gold undulations she had been releasing. Looking at her parameter section was much more interesting, and painted quite a nice picture. Seeing her starting parameters, I was confident in her reaching the (high) dark gold stage just a few months into my journey, at least as long as she did not slack off, which I doubted she would do.

On the contrary, I was sure I would have to make sure to slow her down a bit once she learned how close she was to advancing to the next substage. Current enthusiastic response aside, her feelings of rivalry would want her to catch up to Mothra as soon as feasible, and since she "only" had to raise her Endurance and Energy Capacity to D for that to happen, she would try to achieve that as quickly as possible.

Regardless, I kept that to myself for now and continued to look through the rest of her status sheet.

'Resistance:

Grass (Major), Fighting (Major), Poison (Minor), Bug (Minor), Fairy (Minor)

-

Weaknesses:

Fire (Minor), Flying (Minor), Rock (Minor)

-

Standardized:

Psychic, Fire (in progress)'

I could freely admit that I had hoped that her break though would have helped her complete this one since her being roasted to train her resistance toward fire was not pleasant for either Parvati or me, and that was putting it mildly. The fact that Endure rose to advanced mastery purely as a result of her resistance training was enough to showcase the hardships she suffered.

Well, I was pretty sure that Parvati would choose to stop both her resistance training as well as move training until she advanced to the (high) dark gold stage, so the roasting would be delayed for some time, though she might just train a move or two for a simple change of pace.

Even if she chose to not do that, she could easily afford the break since her repertoire was more than respectable enough, and would suffice to carry her through nearly any battle she could/should face during this period.

Anyway, once I was done, I shared the new info with Parvati, and I could feel her excitement flare when she learned how close she was to advancing, though thankfully she did not try to start training right away. Instead, she went with the flow and enjoyed the celebration that followed, though she did throw herself into training right after breakfast the next morning.

I still had five days of my week off, and aside from two occasions, where I left Utopia for some fast food, I stayed inside Utopia. We spent around the first three-fifths of the day after waking up on everyone's training, including my own, before we spent the rest of the day/evening relaxing. The highlight during these five days was probably the party we held on Kyoday evening to celebrate Gaara/Gabite advancing to the (high) silver stage during one of the training sessions earlier that day.

Unfortunately, his advancement did not mean that he got to evolve into Garchomp due to his belonging to an apex species. We would still have to wait until he completed the first round of his limit-breaking phase for that, and that was if he did not insist on waiting until the completion of his limit-breaking phase, as some had done before him. I was fine with that as long as he did not insist on breaking into the gold stage first since that would give him a worse starting parameter set than he would have gotten as a Garchomp.

Anyway, Elisabeth and I returned to our patrol zone on Arcday, and on Dialday the 13th month began, which also happened to be our third month of patrol. That also meant that this was our last month at this stretch of the wild, so it was time for me to consider starting operation "Old Folk".
