56 CH33 (56), The Trip To Rose’s Home

On Dialday at 6:30 a.m the whole household woke up.

Okay, more like his parents woke up and "helped" him out of his bed.

Even if he normally woke up early for his morning training, that "early" was in young child standards like 7:30 or 8:00 a.m.

Mikail had a difficult time leaving his bed when his mother came to wake him up, but he would have never expected his mother to resort to soft torture to get him out of the bed.

She tickled him until he was wide awake.

Everyone changed, they had breakfast, then his father put the suitcase his mother had packed yesterday into the trunk while she cleaned the table and at around 7 a.m they drove off towards Hope Town Bus Station.

Apparently, his father had reserved a parking space near the bus station for 3 days, so it was no problem to leave the car there until they returned.

Their bus to Honey City, a Tier 5 City, would leave at 7:45 and was supposed to reach Honey City at 9:45, so they still had 20 minutes until departure.

The bus was already there, it was one of those long-distance buses.

They checked in with the driver and entered the bus after his father stored their suitcase.

Inside the bus, on one side was a row of two seats, and on the other was a row of single seats with walking space between the rows.

They went to their reserved seats and Mikail sat with his mother, while his father sat alone.

He did not know if it was because it was early, Dialday was a workday, or if it was always like this but the bus was nearly empty, so it was relatively quiet.

His mother made his seat lean back a bit and gave him a pillow.

Since he was still a bit sleepy, he fell asleep even before the bus drove off.

Mikail was roused from his sleep by his mother shortly before they arrived at Honey City Bus Station.

His mother said the bus was 5 minutes late, but that their teleportation appointment was at 10:05 a.m, so they could afford a 5-minute delay.

At 9:50 a.m the bus arrived at the bus station, and they left the bus.

After his father took their suitcase, the family walked towards the teleportation hub, and less than 5 minutes later they reached their destination.

They had to wait for 10 minutes until their teleportation appointment, so Mikail decided to grill his parents with a few questions while they waited.

He first asked them about the teleportation service and learned quite a bit about it.

Apparently, there were different teleportation options one could choose from, and, obviously, all options cost varying amounts of money.

There was long-distance, and medium-distance teleportation, private and public teleportation, as well as single and group teleportation.

When I asked why there was no short-distance teleportation they said that the teleportation hub only provided their service between Tier 5 to Tier 7 major cities and that the shortest distance between such cities was considered medium.

Those that wanted to teleport to other places had to privately book the service of psychic trainers.

He learned that trainers with psychic types could earn good money thanks to the teleportation business, depending on their strength.

Mikail naturally mentally filed that away in case he needed to earn some safe and easy money.

Our teleportation chain was the cheapest option, public medium-distance group teleportation.

They would have to teleport 7 times to arrive at Orchid City.

After that, he asked about Honey City, specifically why it was named like that.

He got a more extensive answer than he had expected.

His father told him that in Kanto all Tier 6 as well as Tier 7 Major Cities were named after colors, except for Pallet City and that one was still related to colors.

The other settlements did not have such a requirement, so most Cities/Towns/Villages we're named after something they specialized in or an event that happened to the place.

Honey City was named as such because it was the biggest honey producer in Kanto.

The City used its proximity to Viridian Forest to specialize in honey production.

Not only did they have their own honey farm, but they also had special trainer teams that entered the Viridian Forest for really high-quality honey that was quite expensive.

His father also told him that their next stop was Honeydew City, a Tier 6 Major City.

Amidst their conversation, the time for their reservation came and they walked towards a certain man, where 3 other people were already waiting.

Mikail's father went up to the man and they exchanged a few words before his father showed the man something, most likely their reservation.

The man nodded before he said that everyone was there.

The guy released a Slowbro and told everyone to gather around him.

Mikail was curious about the status of Slowbro, but he was not stupid and wouldn't touch the Pokemon of others without permission.

Not to mention using his telekinesis on a psychic Pokemon, that would be quite stupid.

After he became a First-Class, he had focused a bit on keeping the amount of psionic energy he released the same as that of non-psychics, so as long as one was not a considerably stronger psychic than him, or actively checked him out, his psychic prowess should stay hidden.

The teleportation itself was really great in Mikail's mind, he had felt nothing besides a slight tug, after which they were at their destination.

One moment they were in Honey City and in a matter of seconds they were at Honeydew City.

Hundreds of kilometers in a matter of seconds, teleportation was awesome and there was no disorientation or anything like that afterward.

Most likely because Slowbro had done that so often, that it refined the move quite a bit.

The trainer directly left with his Slowbro after making sure no problems happened.

Since they had to wait for 10 minutes for their next teleportation Mikail decided to ask a few questions and to do the same at their other stops as well.

It wasn't like they had anything better to do while they waited, so he might as well learn more about the places they stopped at.

It might be useful for the future after all.

He asked if there was anything special about Honeydew City and his parents said that they have a Gym and 3 Halls that were of interest for trainers.

The current Gym specialized in bug-types and the 3 Halls specialized in grass-, flying-, and normal-types respectively.

The term for Gyms was 30 years and after that duration was up the position of the gym could be challenged or the gym leader could decide to not continue.

Everyone qualified could try to gain the position but in most cases, if the challenge was successful, it was one of the Halls that gained the position.

This was the current Gym's 2nd consecutive term and they still had 12 years until the new term was up.

The Gym Leader's ace was a Pinsir.

Mikail made sure to remember that, because it would give him places to challenge relatively strong trainers after he started his journey and also info on the Gym because a new term would have started before he started his journey, so any of the Halls could have taken over by then.

Besides that Honeydew City was known for its strong bug-type trainers, and training as well as care courses.

He only thought as expected of a City with a bug-type Gym on its second term when he heard that.

When it was time for their teleportation they walked towards a woman who released a Hypno that teleported them to their next stop, Lime City.

During their 10 minutes wait, Mikail learned that Lime City, another Tier 6 City, had a poison-type Gym, and an electric-type as well as a fighting-type Hall.

Apparently, the fighting-type Hall had been the Gym during the last term but lost the challenge 2 years ago, to the poison-type Hall making it the new Gym.

The city had no particular specialties if one did not count the many dojos that called the city their home, with the one of the previous Gym Leader being the most famous.

The ace Pokemon of the current Gym Leader was a Muk and the ace of the previous one was a Primeape.

At 10:20 a.m they were teleported to Rapid City, a Tier 5 City, by an Alolan Raichu.

When he noticed the Raichu he briefly couldn't control himself and hugged it, because it looked so cute, *ahem*, it looked so cool with its levitating tail surfboard.

The Raichu got surprised by his sudden hug, and nearly fried him, but it managed to rein in its electricity before he was harmed.

He still felt a tingling but that was harmless, even if his hair stood up for a bit as a result.

Mikail got scolded by his parents because of his recklessness, but he thought it was worth it, even if he had to promise to not repeat something like that.

He had not forgotten to check the Raichu's status during his hug and saw that Alolan Raichu was shown as a psychic-variant Raichu.

Its potential turned out ok, it was deep yellow.

The trainer gave him a warning not to do something like that again, as he could have gotten hurt before they started the teleportation.

During their wait in Rapid City Mikail decided to act as if his reckless maneuver never happened and asked things about Rapid City, like why it was called that.

Well, it turned out the city was famous for its Ponyta and Rapidash ranches.

Now he knew where he would have a wide range of Ponyta to choose from if he decided that he wanted one.

He would be able to choose the one with the best potential and as long as the price was okay he wouldn't have to hunt for one in the wild.

They teleported to Jade City, a Tier 6 city, with the help of a Mr. Mime.

They only had to wait for 5 minutes for the next teleportation so he only asked questions about the Gym and the Halls.

The Gym here turned out to be a dragon-type Gym and it was currently on its 5th term.

There were currently no Halls because they all left after they kept losing the challenge.

The ace Pokemon of the Gym Leader was a Dragonite.

His father also added that the city was famous for its dragon theme and that there were courses on care and training of dragons as well as move tutors for dragon-type moves, like Dragon Breath.

Their next stop was Flower City, a Tier 5 city.

They had 10 minutes to their next teleportation, so Mikail did his thing.

You would have never guessed it, but the city specialized in flowers.

They had all kinds of medical and other useful flowers.

Flower City also had a Minor Gym, that specialized in grass-type Pokemon, as well as a poison-type Hall.

The Gym Leader had a Bellossom as her ace Pokemon.

After Flower City, they were teleported to Citron City, a Tier 6 City, by a Xatu.

Natu greeted the Xatu when he saw it and they exchanged a few words before they teleported.

Citron City had a dark-type Major Gym and 4 Halls.

The Halls specialized in ghost-, fire-, ground-, and normal-type respectively.

The ace of the Gym Leader was an Umbreon.

The city had no specialty besides its diverse training and care courses.

They were teleported to their final destination Orchid City, a Tier 6 city, by a Kadabra.

At 10:50 they had finally arrived at their destination.

Teleporting from Honey City to Orchid City took them 1 hour, and if one included the 125 minutes bus drive from Hope Town to Honey City, then the whole trip took 3 hours 5 minutes.

This was not bad for a nearly 4000-km distance but could have been even shorter if they had substituted the bus drive with something faster.

Mikail and his parents left the teleportation hub after they arrived in Orchid City and they saw Rose and her parents waiting for them.

They exchanged greetings and hugs before they started to discuss if they should go to the Field's home first or if they should roam around the city first.

In the end, they decided to leave their suitcase in the trunk of the Field's car and walk around the city until lunch, after that they would decide if they would continue to walk around or go home.
