644 CH25 (639), Grass Hall Services

I ended up staying a lot longer at the Pokemon Fan Club than I initially intended to, leaving me no time for a visit to the Grass Hall, so I had to postpone that visit to the next day. The next morning began as usual. We ate our breakfast, and since we had Grouday, I began our regular check-up session. Everyone did their morning training while it was not their turn, though the check-up routine went on for longer than the 2 hours we had set for morning training, so the ones still waiting for their turn simply relaxed/did whatever they wanted until it was their turn.

The routine showed that everyone was doing good, but after checking everyone, I decided that it was time for another body care/massage session, so I shared that starting next week/tomorrow I would be carrying out spa sessions for 5 hours a day until everyone got a turn. If everything went well, I should have wrapped up the whole thing at the start of the next week either on Arcday or Mewday.

Obviously, everyone not being cared for by me would stick to our usual daily schedule, so I would be the only one whose schedule/plans would be truly affected. Still, I was fine with having less time to check out Lilycove City if it was to spend time with my Pokemon and take care of them.

Anyway, everyone was quite happy to hear that and I felt the anticipation roll off of them. Since there was less than an hour left until our usual lunchtime, I did not directly leave for the Grass Hall after finishing the check-up session. Instead, I asked Luna/Clefable if she was okay with helping me with some good old gravity training until lunch to train my body, and she happily agreed.

I put on my weight suit which put an additional 800 kg on my body, and once I was done, Luna used Gravity. She started easy with 5 times gravity and slowly increased the gravity until I reached my current carry limit at 8 times gravity. I stayed under 8 times gravity for around half an hour, forcing my body to persist until I truly felt that I had pushed it to its limit. Once I had reached that point, I asked Luna to slowly reduce the gravity, and only after she stopped using Gravity did I take off the body suit/weight.

While Utopia's passive healing would restore my body to full health, I had stuff to do before that happened. I directly took out the paste and drink I had prepared to maximize my gains. I first gulped down the drink before taking off my clothes and spreading the paste on my aching/twitching body. This was also why I did not ask any of my Pokemon to perform a healing move on me since healing my body before my supplements could work would go against my plans. I even had to slow down Utopia's healing to give my supplements some time to do their job.

20 minutes later, I cleaned up my body and put on a new set of clothes before calling everyone over for lunch. While we were eating I shared that I would be heading to the Grass Hall. That had Mothra/Butterfree, Jade/Gyarados, and Hashirama, along with the grass-type reserve members perk up for obvious reasons. The others told me to have fun but made sure to remind me to share anything interesting with them. I assured them that I would be keeping a live stream open the entire time, so they could watch the whole thing if they wanted.

Once everyone was full and we had cleaned up, I left Utopia and headed to the Grass Hall. While I had looked up the offered services online I made sure to check them again at the reception after entering the establishment. One of the reasons I had been looking forward to this visit was that the Lilycove Grass Hall was one of the few Grass Halls that taught Frenzy Plant. Unlike the games, apparently, each grass-type line had the potential to learn Frenzy Plant. However, the requirements to learn the ultimate grass-type move were different for each species, even the royal ones, though it still required the Pokemon to be in its final traditional evolution stage.

Still, it was a fact that the royal grass species had the "easiest" conditions, which was why they were the first Pokemon that came to mind when Frenzy Plant came up. The same was true for the other royals and their ultimate moves as well. Interestingly, enough Tangrowth was right behind the royal species as far as the ease of learning Frenzy Plant was concerned, which all things considered was not that surprising.

The hall had published the requirements so one could easily look those up. Not that knowing the conditions would be enough to learn the move, which was why the halls did not mind publicizing them in the first place. I personally had the know-how of how to teach the move to most grass types/lines since I had managed to unlock the knowledge due to my efforts in teaching/training Hashirama, Jade, and Mothra.

Venusaur, and hence Hashirama, had to not only reach the dark gold stage but also master Vine Whip, Power Whip, Leech Seed, and Growth before they could start working on Frenzy Plant. Well, actually unlike the other three listed moves, Power Whip did not have to be mastered, but it seemed to ease the difficulty quite a bit if the Venusaur had mastered it, which was not surprising considering that Power Whip was essentially an upgraded version of Vine Whip. In fact, Power Whip was not even listed among the conditions online, but I had no idea if that was done on purpose to ensure that people/Venusaur had to book more lessons to learn the move.

Sadly, I did not know the conditions for Mothra and Jade, but that was not surprising since no one documented the process for obvious reasons. To be honest, that would likely only make things harder for Jade since I could already see Mothra learning the move while watching Hashirama work on it. Her talent was just too abnormal as far as learning moves was concerned, so this kind of development was a real possibility.

Anyway, the reason I was going to apply for lessons even though I had the know-how was that having a Pokemon that already knew the move demonstrate it and then guide Hashirama would be much better than me trying to explain it to him using words. We could still work on it together afterward, but letting them help Hashirama take the first steps toward learning the move would ease my/our job greatly.

"I'd like to apply for a Frenzy Plant course for a Venusaur," I announced once I made it to the receptionist. " Do you, or rather your Venusaur, fulfill the stipulated conditions to learn the move," the lady inquired. "You have to pay upfront and the payment will not be refunded if the mentor refuses to teach your Pokemon because it did not fulfill the set conditions," she followed up with a warning.

While Hashiraman had not broken through to the dark gold stage yet, he was on the cusp of completing his limit-breaking phase, and could already throw down against Pokemon that were already at the dark gold stage, so I was confident that he fulfilled the strength requirement. "That's not a problem since my Venusaur is ready," I said and she seemed to simply accept my word.

She briefly focused on her computer display before turning back to me. "Master Hamir is available right now. Would that be okay with you or do you want to schedule a lesson at a later date?" she inquired and I naturally declined with, "Now, would be perfect."

"Do you want to pay cash or by card?" she asked next and I pulled out 20k Poke from my bag. "Cash, please," I answered while handing her the money. "Alright," she accepted the money and put it away before typing away on her keyboard. "Master Hamir will be waiting in Hall No.12 for you. The session will start as soon as you enter the Hall. If you want to continue the lesson after your 2 hours are up, you'll have to come back here and apply for another session," she explained and I nodded to show my understanding.

"Follow the signs and you should easily find your way to Hall 12," she finished while pointing towards the signs on the walls before handing me my receipt. I thanked her and began following the sign to Hall 12. It took me two or three minutes to arrive at my destination, and after making sure that I was in front of the correct entrance, I made my way inside the hall.

The hall was pretty expansive and had an indoor grass field with flowers and other greeneries. I saw a balding man waiting in the middle of the field, and he waved me over as soon as I stepped inside. "Can I see the receipt, please?" He asked politely and I showed him what he wanted. "Alright, before we can start teaching your Venusaur, we have to confirm that it fulfills the conditions to learn Frenzy Plant, so please call it out and have it demonstrate its mastery over Vine Whip, Leech Seed, and Growth," he requested and I did as he asked.

"Hashi, Vine Whip," I ordered after calling out Hashirama. Hashirama naturally followed my order, but Master Hamir's expression changed while Hashirama executed his attack. He watched the execution until the end before giving me a look. "Did you not say that your Venusaur fulfilled the conditions to learn Frenzy Plant?" He questioned but gave me no time to say anything before he continued.

"While that was indeed a mastered Vine Whip, the undulations your Venusaur released while performing its move are undoubtedly of the (high) gold stage. You should have read that the minimum strength condition for Frenzy Plant is set to the dark gold stage. You'll only be wasting everyone's time if you have your Venusaur try to learn the move before then," Master Hamir finished and he definitely sounded reproving during the last bit.

"I can assure you that my Venusaur is strong enough to fulfill the strength condition. If you want to you can test him," I returned but Master Hamir had a face that said, "They always say the same". "Sure, let's test that," he said in a dull tone that matched his expression. "Have your Venusaur match mine using Vine Whip until I call for a stop," he commanded while calling out a Venusaur that was a bit smaller than Hashirama but was releasing (high) dark gold stage undulations.

"Full Power Vine Whip," I ordered and Hamir called for Vine Whip as well. I kept an eye on Hamir while Hashirama's and the Venusaur's Vine Whips continued to clash. At first, he seemed bored, but after the first 10 clashes, he lost his bored look and appeared interested instead. After the 30th clash, he seemed satisfied and gave me a nod but did not call for a stop.

Only after he saw that Hashirama could keep going after the 80th or so clash did he call for a stop, and he seemed suitably impressed by what he had seen. "I had not expected that, but your Venusaur put on an admirable performance. This is the first time someone's gold-stage Venusaur was able to back its trainer's confident attitude. From that display I can tell you that your Venusaur should have no problems learning Frenzy Plant as long as it has mastered Growth and Leech Seed," he freely admitted and I did the mature thing and just nodded instead of saying something like "I told you so".

Anyway, following Master Hamir's admission, I had Hashirama demonstrate his mastery over Leech Seed and Growth. "Great, with this out of the way, there's no problem with teaching your Venusaur Frenzy Plant," he declared after Hashirama finished using Growth.
