13 CH13, Aura Training And Second Trip
Mikail woke up still feeling giddy from his success yesterday.
He immediately started meditating, attempting to sense his aura once again.
To his great satisfaction, he managed to sense his aura within the first 10 minutes of meditation and even succeeded in perceiving it for around a minute before losing it once more.
He kept trying to sense his aura and even accomplished it a few times but the duration he could keep feeling his aura never exceeded a minute.
Nearly 2 hours passed like this and it was time to finish this rather successful session.
Mikail acted as if he was waking up and called out to his parents to start the day.
While being fed his breakfast he thought about his training plan.
Now that he could somewhat feel his aura during meditation, the next step was to increase the success rate to 100% and to sense his aura outside of meditation.
The first part had to be done during the morning and evening meditation sessions but he could do the second part nearly whenever he wanted.
There was no need to achieve immediate success and he did not expect to succeed instantly anyway.
He was in no hurry but still expected to finish in 2-3 days.
Supreme affinity and all that.
After that, would be sensing the aura outside his body.
First during and then outside of meditation.
Anyway, he did not think that he would be able to train today outside of his evening session.
Today was Grouday which meant that his father was home because it was still part of the weekend.
That meant no alone time for little old him.
After breakfast was over his father kept him company as predicted, while his mother did her household chores.
They played a little in his area before his father turned the TV on to watch the news.
He heard from the news that a tide had attacked Pewter City and that it was repelled.
They were giving out warnings that remnants of the tide could be in the area around Pewter City.
As soon as his father heard this, he took out something that looked like a smartphone and checked it.
Afterward, he called his mother over.
"Honey could you please come here."
Once his mother came over he continued.
"Arya, there has been a tide at Pewter City and a warning has been issued for the areas around Pewter, on the news as well as the PokeCom.
I will gather all our Pokemon in our garden to increase our safety just to be sure.
Keep an eye on Mikail while I'm gone, please."
Arya nodded showing her understanding.
"Of course.
A few stragglers should be no problem for you but make sure to stay safe either way."
Edward left and Mikail was left alone in his play area.
His mother kept an eye on him while she did her work but there was no one to distract him from trying to sense aura, so he did exactly that.
Until the return of his father, Mikail kept trying to sense aura outside of meditation, but he did not succeed.
He seemingly caught a glimpse multiple times but ultimately failed.
Once Edward came back he instructed the Pokemon to be alert and to not leave the perimeter of the house.
The rest of the day they spent playing together with his father occasionally checking his PokeCom.
He spent his evening session focusing on reaching a 100% success rate and came close before he decided to sleep.
The next day his father went to work like normal because it was Arcday, the first day of the new week.
He spent the day as he did before and managed to reach a 100% success rate during his evening session.
For the next two days, he fully focused on sensing his aura outside of meditation.
He even substituted his morning and evening sessions with the new exercise.
His perseverance allowed him to succeed a few times but he still had to get a lot better.
On Giratiday, the third day of the week, his father gave them the news that the warning was withdrawn and that he had asked about the situation of the berry farm.
He was told that there were no problems on their side and that the open day would happen as previously scheduled.
This meant that they were going to the berry farm on Kyoday morning.
This news excited Mikail who had thought their trip would have to be postponed until the next open day at the end of next month because of the whole remnant warning.
He planned to grab as many types of berries as he could without anyone else noticing something.
Hopefully, he would have a good harvest.
He spent the rest of the days before Kyoday increasing his success rate sensing his aura outside of meditation.
He nearly succeeded as well.
By the evening of Dialday, he managed to feel his aura nearly every time and he was sure that by the end of his morning exercise tomorrow he would achieve a 100% success rate.
He went to sleep feeling giddy about their outing to the berry farm and his impending success.
He was proven right, the next morning, when he managed to sense his aura every time by the end of his exercise despite being excited about their trip.
After breakfast they all changed to appropriate clothes and his mother packed sandwiches, his porridge, and their drinks for them.
According to his father, tools to gather and store the berries would be provided by the farm.
An area with tables and benches was available as well.
After making sure that they had everything, Pokemon included, and that nothing that should be off was left on, they left for the farm.
The ride took about 30 minutes and Mikail was shocked by the sheer size of the plantation.
They had to pay a deposit for the tools that were provided at the entrance.
The tools included a berry bag to store the berries, two berry scissors to separate the berry from the tree, and an armband that signaled their security units that they were allowed entry.
Here, Bird Pokemon we're mainly used for security.
They kept an eye on people and stopped wild Pokemon, mainly Caterpie and Rattata, from overeating the berries.
Yes, they stopped them from overeating and not eating.
The farm had a daily quota of berries that could be consumed by wild Pokemon, and only after that quota is filled did they stop the wild Pokemon from eating more.
The wild Pokemon seem to have gotten used to it and they were generally docile unless provoked.
Mikail's parents released their Butterfrees and Growlithe after getting permission to bring them along.
Then began their walk through the plantation.
Mikail was mentally drooling from all the berries he saw and secretly checked if he had drool coming out for real as well.
He might have thought that he was being sneaky but his parents saw him and merely chuckled.
They decided to gather oran berries first.
The plantation was gigantic and only a part was opened to the public.
The visitors had access to 10 kinds of berries.
They decided to go to the lum, leppa, and sitrus berry area at the end because visitors could only gather a limited amount of them.
Once they reached the oran berry area Mikail started searching for a berry he could take into his space without anyone noticing.
His parents started plucking oran berries from the tree while Mikail kept looking at the berries on the ground.
During his search, he saw a few caterpie that were eating the berries that fell.
He went toward one of the Caterpie while his parents were busy.
He planned to scan a few of them while he tried to get berries without being discovered.
The Caterpie was docile and did not react aggressively towards his touch.
That was normal because Cyan had followed him, he just didn't notice, and was now flying behind him staring at the poor Caterpie that was simply trying to eat.

Mikail withdrew his hand after stroking the Caterpie a few times.
It felt like touching a rubber ball and not disgusting at all.
He kept walking around trying to find a berry in a position where he could take it undetected by anyone, his tail that he finally noticed included.
Mikail found one a few minutes later.
The berry was lying beside the trunk of the tree, it fell from, partially covered by the vegetation on the ground.
He adjusted his walking path to the berries place and kept checking on the Caterpies on the way.
Sadly nearly all of them except for one had red potential, that one had light orange potential.
He wondered if he was going to find one that had good potential.
When he finally arrived, it felt longer than it took, at the trunk he aimed for, he leaned down near it positioning the oran berry between them.
Once he was sure the view was obstructed he touched it and took it into his space.
He grabbed a pebble on the ground before he straightened and acted as if he was checking it out.
He pretended to lose interest, threw the stone he still had observed anyway away, and returned to his parent's side.
His parents had just finished gathering oran berries and were waiting for him.
They had kept an eye on him during their plucking and made sure one of their Butterfrees followed him.
He looked into his space once he was by his parent's side and saw that the analysis process was already over.
'Analyzing...., oran berry analyzed.
Start improving...., oran berry improved.
Storing samples in the sub-space flora.
Process finished.'
He directly checked the status of the improved berry.

Satisfied with the result he focused back outside.
They continued going from berry area to area for the next 3 hours.
His parents would start plucking berries and he would try to find one he could take unnoticed while observing as many as he could.
They met nothing other than Caterpies but he assumed that was because other species did not want to come near his parents' butterfrees.
He had to have scanned a few hundred of them by the end but the best potential he found was a young Caterpie with light yellow potential.
Certainly not bad but not good enough to take any risks.

During this time he also found out that he was weaker than a stageless Caterpie because he couldn't see the last 4 portions of even one of them.
By the end of the 3 hours, they went to the sitting area to eat before leaving.
They had visited all areas and gathered quite some berries.
Mikail now also had improved cheri, chesto, pecha, rawst, aspear, persim, lum, leppa, and sitrus berries.
They mostly had the same effects from the games, just reduced.
So a single cheri berry did not instantly cure paralysis but it helped alleviate it.
The leppa and sitrus berries were adjusted to a real-life setting.

His parents talked while they ate and decided to lounge around for a bit to rest.
Once they had rested for about half an hour, they went to the exit of the farm.
There they paid for the berries, returned the tools, took back the deposit, and made their way back home.
At home, Mikail was cleaned and took his nap.
After the nap, he played with his parents until dinner.
Once they had eaten, his parents decided to watch a movie together after which he went to bed.
His toddler body was spent, so he decided to sleep without doing his evening meditation session.
