It had been more than a year, around 59 months, since his Butterfree had reached the (low) bronze stage.
There was exactly 1 month left until his fourth birthday, and he felt it was time to go over everything that he had achieved since then, which was quite a bit, so he had to organize everything a bit.
Let's start with his Pokemon.
Mikail currently had 12 Pokemon that he had bonded with.
6 of those 12 Pokemon he owned openly, which meant they were known by his parents.
Those 6 are, Xatu, Mothra, Butterfree, Nidoran (male), Nidoran (female), and Eevee.
Yes, Natu had evolved and he was not the only one but more about that later.
Ahh, the wonders of monologuing.
Nothing proves your sanity as much as talking to/addressing yourself mentally or orally.
Anyways, the other 6 Pokemon that he had bonded with were 6 Magikarp that he had chosen to train for the future.
Now let's see the progress all his Pokemon had made during this time.
First of all, was his Xatu.

Natu had evolved around one year ago, shortly after he broke through to the bronze stage and settled in the (mid) bronze grade.
Thanks to Natu's training until all his parameters had a 'SS' value, he started 1.5 values higher than before, so he managed to skip the (low) bronze stage and started directly at the (mid) bronze stage.
Once Mikail had seen that Natu had settled into his new strength, he had felt that Natu was ready for his evolution, so he had given his go-ahead.
After his breakthrough to the bronze stage with an average of 'SS', Natu had received an 80% potential bonus, which boosted his potential to light blue.
The resources he had provided during Natu's evolution and the supplements he kept generally providing allowed, now, Xatu to reach the cusp of blue potential.
Now, Mikail had to confess that Xatu could have been stronger parameter-wise, if they had only concentrated on that, maybe even at the silver stage, but that would have been only brute strength.
Exactly because of that, he had made Xatu focus more on his moves, bringing all of them to proficient mastery, while the ones he deemed important were raised to advanced mastery.
He had helped Xatu learn quite a few new moves to complement/complete Xatu's move pool and he was sure that it would be comprehensive enough for now.
Maybe he would add one or two moves like Steel Wing to the move pool but for now, he had focused on Xatu's strengths.
Anyway, Xatu could obviously advance to Silver state right now if he wanted to, but he wanted Xatu to achieve another 'SS' average at least before that happened.
Next up was Mothra.

Mothra's progress during this time was impressive, she evolved to Metapod after breaking through to the bronze stage and getting used to it as well.
Just like Xatu her limit breaking had allowed her to skip the (low) bronze stage and start at the (mid) bronze stage.
He had made Mothra train until she had reached a 'SSS' value for all her parameters and that 2 value boost had allowed her to skip the (low) grade, despite the Caterpie species having worse starting parameters.
Her 'SSS' breakthrough gave her a 160% potential boost, which upgraded her potential to the upper range of deep blue.
Her subsequent evolution to Metapod and the resources he had provided while it happened as well as the supplements he kept generally providing allowed Mothra's potential to reach light purple.
Since Mothra had a lower number of moves, and her talent helped her with learning new ones, she had more time to train her parameters.
There was also the fact that her higher potential increased her training speed, which led to her having higher parameters than Xatu despite her breaking through later than him.
This did not mean that her moves were bad, not at all.
She had completely made Thunder Fang her own, she also used the same method to learn Psychic Fangs, this time using Confusion as the second component.
After his little genius evolved and learned Iron Defense, she used it and Tackle as the basis to learn Iron Head.
Besides learning these moves she brought all her moves except for Tackle and Bug Bite to advanced mastery, as well as String Shot and Confusion to mastered mastery.
Her mastery of String Shot brought her Bug E. Manipulation to proficient mastery and her mastery of Confusion allowed her to gain Psionic Manipulation as well as increase it to beginner mastery, without having the psychic typing, which was really impressive.
To be honest, Mothra could have long evolved to Butterfree, but he was waiting for her to break through to the silver stage first.
He was hoping that her breakthrough and all her training will allow her to unearth her genetic potential, to hopefully gain a modifier or the psychic type.
The limit breaking was after all optimizing/tempering of her genes, which increased her potential and strengthened her.
After Mothra came his Butterfree.

Now Butterfree was undoubtedly strong compared to the general Butterfree of the same stage, but one could still see the difference in talent compared to Mothra or even Xatu.
Mikail decided to train all of Butterfree's parameters up to 'A' this time before he broke through so that he did not suffer any reduction in the parameter value upon advancement.
He had seen how long it took to compensate for the reduction he received for prematurely advancing to the bronze stage, so he did not plan to repeat that for the silver stage.
On the other hand, he saw no need to make Butterfree break his limits before he broke through, as he was more like a trailblazer that guaranteed that he had someone stronger until the others caught up because them breaking their limits was going to take longer and longer, so having someone to protect everyone in the meanwhile was important.
Anyway, Butterfree was nearly ready for his advancement, once he raised his strength to 'A' as well, he would give the okay.
He was also hoping to promote Butterfree's potential to light blue as soon as possible since he is only missing 13.28%.
On a side note, the way he had introduced Butterfree to his parents was quite clever if he was allowed to humble brag a bit.
He had used the occasion of Mothra evolving to say that Butterfree had been attracted towards them by said evolution, from there they hit it off and Butterfree decided to join him.
At least that's what he told his parents when they saw him bringing Butterfree home.
They had been surprised at first but quickly gained the "again, really?" look on their face, which had been amusing to see.
The reason for their surprise was that about a year in his parents had stopped sending one of their Pokemon after him, at least while he was in the area near their home.
As for why they had stopped sending their Pokemon after him, he will address that later.
After they agreed to let Butterfree stay, they allowed him to live beside Emerald and Cyan, after getting their approval.
Now, it was the turn of the, unfortunately, no longer chibi Nidoran pair.

The ex-chibis had made good progress as well.
While they were only at the (mid) bronze stage right now, that was because they had been really young when he got them, so it took a bit before he could start their official training, and even then he had to take it slow until they were a bit older.
On top of that, he had trained them until all their parameters had reached 'SSS' before he allowed them to breakthrough, but the result spoke for itself.
Their potential had reached blue and they were both about halfway through to deep blue potential.
Besides this, he had made them focus on increasing their move pool.
He made them teach each other some of their moves and made them learn Poison Fangs from Mothra.
While most of their moves were only of the beginner or proficient mastery, with 1 or 2 advanced masteries, their wide pool made up for it.
They could increase their masteries from now on.
As for their evolution, he planned to let them evolve after they reached the (high) bronze stage.
The two were anticipating their evolution quite a bit after they saw how their parents looked after evolving into Nidorino and Nidorina.
They had done that after reaching the (high) iron stage and he had not interfered.
Right now, the senior Nidos were at the (low) bronze stage and overall weaker than their children, thanks to him training the ex-chibis, which Mikail found a bit funny.
He would never forget the gobsmacked face of his parents when he returned from his trip outside their property with 4 Nidoran following him.
He even used the real reason why they decided to join him during his explanation.
Mikail told his parents how he saved the family from a group of Ekans and how the chibi Nidoran had taken a liking to him as a result.
He said that after he asked the chibis to join him, their parents decided to follow their children and agreed to join him as well.
His parents rubbed their heads and scolded him a bit for recklessly endangering himself that way, but also praised him a bit for his accomplishment.
Anyway, long story short, they were allowed to stay as well and after getting Titan's and Titania's consent, the Nidoran family was allowed to settle near their place, after accepting his parents Nido pair as their superiors.
The evolution of the parent pair changed nothing in the pecking order, as they knew that they were inferior.
Anyway, in the eyes of his parents, the children pair were his Pokemon, while the parent pair was more like allies/supporters.
He was actually considering whether he should give his Nidoran names or not, but that could wait for now.
Now, the last of his open/official Pokemon was his Eevee, that hatched from the Egg they had bought in Orchid City.

His Eevee egg had hatched about 12 months after they had bought it, and after the upgrade by his space, Eevee had deep green potential.
As a side note, Rose's Eevee hatched 2 months after his.
After she hatched, he allowed her to enjoy the time until she finished her Stageless phase.
He bonded with her relatively fast, within a few weeks of her hatching.
Anyway, the only thing he did during that time was training her Quick Attack after she neared the end of her Stageless phase, besides that she somehow learned Baby-Doll Eyes on her own and kept using it against him to make him do things for her.
After she reached the iron stage he started training her for real.
He made her increase her parameters to the absolute limit as well.
The 'SSS' breakthrough increased her potential to borderline blue and the supplements he provided for her in general allowed her potential to reach its current state.
Eevee had to learn moves to increase her move pool as well since he wanted her to be relatively versatile.
Mothra helped Eevee with Iron Tail, his Nidoran helped her with Dig, Focus Energy, and Endure, while Xatu recently started to help her with Shadow Ball.
He made Eevee focus the most on Quick Attack, Iron Tail, and Swift.
Quick Attack was used for mobility, Iron Tail for close-range, and Swift for long-range combat.
He planned to make Shadow Ball another long-range mainstay, as well as Dig for maneuverability.
She also possessed quite a few moves to lower the stats of her opponent if necessary and even had Copycat in case her opponent had a useful move, so she covered most of her bases.
As far as her evolution was concerned, he planned to wait until she reached the silver stage, besides he was going to let her choose which Eeveelution she wanted to evolve into since it was going to be her that had to live in her new body, so choosing one that she liked was mandatory in his opinion.
However, that was still quite a bit away with her only being at the (mid) bronze stage right now.
Okay, that had been all his open/official Pokemon, so only the 6 Magikarp he chose for his team were left.
