24 CH1 (24), First Time Outside Alone (1)

The next morning after waking up Mikail felt a weight on his midsection.

When he checked out why he found a Natu sitting on his belly.

He was quite surprised by that and also felt relieved that his parents had stopped setting up the baby phone after his birthday.

Otherwise, they would have already noticed the Natu and stormed into his room.

"Are you the Natu that sat on my head yesterday?"

Mikail asked.

"Natu."

The Natu said and sent a wave of acknowledgment towards him.

"Were you the green blur I kept seeing at the other areas?

Why did you follow me then and why did you follow us home? "

"Na, Nat, Tu, Na, Natu."

Natu sent another admission and expressed his ongoing curiosity.

Natu conveyed that it was intrigued by him and decide to follow and observe him.

"I understand, but we are not allowed to take Pokemon from the petting zoo to our home.

While you technically came to us instead of us taking you along, my parents will most likely still return you to the zoo.

While I don't know if the personnel would allow you to stay with us if you insist, I doubt it.

I have a way to hide you from others and to let you stay with me if you want, but you will have to stay there while I am not alone."

Mikail who understood Natu's explanation tried to lure it with candy, sorry, tried to convince it to voluntarily enter his space.

Otherwise, he would be unable to let it out without knowing if it would try to escape.

He already knew that while his space turned them friendly, this did not equal obedience or guarantee that they would like to stay there.

Pokemon that he beat would most likely accept his space as much as they would a Poke Ball, if not more because of the friendly function.

They would most likely see it as another capture method.

Voluntary entrees were still preferred if possible.

Magikarp were no problem because the new environment was much better for them and they did capture them beforehand.

The Natu seemed to ponder on what he said and came to a decision.

It nodded its head and sent feelings of acceptance towards Mikail.

"Awesome.

You are not going to regret it.

I am going to transfer you to another place because my parents could enter any time, so don't resist ok."

After receiving a nod from Natu, Mikail put Natu inside his space while thinking.

'It's been so long since I was able to speak without having to limit my sentence, I honestly missed it.

You never know what you had until you lose it.

Even the smallest thing becomes precious.

Unfortunately, I can't do it with other people around yet.'

Mikail looked into his space to see the situation inside.

'Analyzing...., Natu analyzed.

Start improving potential...., potential successfully improved.

Start optimizing genes..., genetic optimization failed.

Unlocking extra abilities...., unlocking extra ability succeeded.

Unlocking talents...., unlocking talents failed.

Detected existing talent, attempting to improve talent...., talent successfully improved.

Checking energy storage....., energy storage can support activity.

Generating tailored habitat...., absorbing additional psionic energy from owner..., habitat successfully generated.

Add habitat to main space....., main space successfully expanded.

Relocate Natu to habitat..., relocation successful.

Energy storage at 5%.

Process finished.

It used my psionic energy in the process because Natu is a psychic type.

This should increase the probability of forming a bond because it will live in a habitat permeated by my psionic energy on top of living inside my space.

Nicely done.

The area itself is 900 square meters, smaller than the one produced for Magikarp.

The reason for that is most likely that Natu can leave his habitat to enter my garden area if it wants to and that Magikarp can't leave the water.

Hence the bigger movement/living area.

The size increase to the rest followed like always.

Natu's area is a clearing with some trees, that has a higher concentration of psychic and air energy.

I can see Natu looking around in wonder at its new location.

I decide to use the ability to send my voice anywhere inside my space to talk to Natu.'

"How do you like my place?

If it's alright with you, you will have to spend some time there until I can find some alone time to let you out.

The place you are currently in is your area."

"Tu. Natu."

Natu transmits something along the line of it's fine, no hurry, and makes himself comfortable.

"That's great.

If you want something to eat just convey it to me and I will give you berries or some Magikarp stripes.

Please leave the Magikarp inside the pond alone, they are mine and not to be used as food."

Mikail gave Natu some instructions while thinking.

'Should I plant some berry trees in the main space for Natu or should I just, daily, throw in some of the berries from the sub-space flora as I do for the Magikarp.

Let's wait until the reserves are full again before deciding.

It takes some energy to grow berries and I don't want to waste energy until I have some surplus.

Let's check Natu's new status before I forget to do it.

Species: Natu

Gender: Male

Type: Psychic, Flying/Air

Potential: Light Green

Stage: (low) Iron stage

Genetic variation: None

Abilities: Keen Eye, Synchronize, Early Bird

Talents: Moderately increased energy sensitivity

Affinities: Psionic, Air

Wow, it has 3 abilities now.

That's a first for me.

Its potential increased by 2 grades, so that is like usual.

Light green is good, that his talent increased is better.

While Natu and Xatu are not something that I would add to my team, this one is worth training, at least for now.

Natu will be helpful to my psychic training and until I get some much better Pokemon I can use Natu in the wild as well.

After that, he can just chill out inside my space or enter the reserve team.'

After Mikail received Natu's acceptance, he was done with his surprise guest.

He got down from his bed and changed out of his pajamas.

Mikail went down to the living room and saw his mother busy with her household chores.

Arya stopped what she was doing as soon as she heard her son entering the living room and turned to him.

"Good morning, honey.

Just play in your area for 10 minutes and mommy will prepare our breakfast."

"Okey."

Mikail agreed to her request and started doing his stretching exercises while he waited.

After breakfast, Mikail addressed his mother.

"Mommy, I am going out.

I want to explore."

His mother agreed but not before advising him.

"That's alright, honey.

If you go outside our garden one of our Pokemon will follow you to make sure nothing dangerous approaches you.

They will also try to help or alert us in case an accident happens.

Don't worry, they will keep their distance and try to not get in the way of your exploration.

You should still not go too far out for now.

I recommend learning about our immediate surroundings first."

"Thank you, mommy.

I will do what you said."

Mikail assured her while leaving the house towards their garden.

'I haven't checked out our garden before this.

Maybe I will find something that I can add to my list of materials/supplements.

Even if I don't find anything, I can still check out the Nido pair and the Gloom I couldn't before this.

No need to wait until the weekend if I can check them out on by myself right now, at least those available.'

He first went to Growlithes area but found nothing.

Growlithe itself was not there but he already knew that.

Next, he went to the Butterfree pairs area, greeted them, and started looking around.

To his surprise, he did find something there.

He found silver powder and there was quite a bit of it.

'It was probably produced because two relatively strong bug types live here.

Because of their long stay at this place, their bug-type energy somehow produced silver powder.

At least that's the only logical explanation I could think of.

Name: Silver Powder

Type: Bug

Quality: Low

Faults: None

Uses: It's a pile of silvery powder that has fallen from bug-type, that contains bug-type energy.

Can be used as a supplement to help bug-type Pokemon.'

He put enough of it for an analysis process into his space and after making sure he hadn't overlooked anything he went to the flower field next.

There he greeted his mother's Gloom and checked it before looking around for anything useful.

'Species: Gloom

Gender: Male

Type: Grass/Flora, Poison

Potential: Light Yellow

Stage: ?

Genetic variation: ?

Abilities: ?

Talents: ?

Affinities: ?'

As he had expected he could see nothing except for its potential, which while not bad was not good either.

He felt a bit bad because he was relieved that it did not have too great of a potential.

It was not that he did not want his parents to have Pokemon with awesome potential, because he did.

But the more awesome their Pokemon were, the more their early retirement would seem suspicious to him, besides even luck has to have its limitations.

Orphans having a lineup of light green and better potential Pokemon screams protagonist or at least side character bullshit.

Anyway, he did find something in the flower field, 2 things to be precise.

He found some flowers that counted as useful materials, a lily species, and a petunia species.

'Name: Purple Lily

Type: Poison

Quality: Low

Faults: None

Uses: It's a lily that has absorbed the poison-type energy and/or poison from its surroundings.

Contains concentrated poison-type energy.

Can be used as a supplement to help poison-type Pokemon.

And

Name: Vibrant Petunia

Type: Grass/Flora

Quality: Low

Faults: None

Uses: It's a petunia that has absorbed ample grass-type energy from its surroundings.

Contains concentrated grass-type energy.

Can be used as a supplement to help grass-type Pokemon.

This together with the previous case indicates to me that Pokemon if strong enough, can influence an area they stay at for longer periods, like their living space.

At least, I come to this conclusion, and like always until proven otherwise I will assume that I am correct.

The reason Growlithe's area had nothing is probably that he does not stay at one place long enough for fire energy to concentrate or it could be possible that fire energy needs more time in an environment like this to show an effect and it hasn't been enough time yet .'

He plucked a petunia and lily using his telekinesis and took them into his space while distracting Gloom with his farewell.

'Now I am anticipating what I will find in the living areas of the others.'

Mikail walked towards the pond where his mothers Poliwhirl and Staryu lived and gave them a greeting.

Poliwhirl came out to greet him back but Staryu ignored him.

Seeing that he would not get a chance to touch Staryu this time as well, because it kept evading him for some reason, Mikail decided to walk closer hoping to get Staryu into his psychic range.

Once he managed that he used his telekinesis to light slap it in the back, to check its status.

'Species: Staryu

Gender: Neutral

Type: Water

Potential: Deep Yellow

Stage: ?

Genetic variation: ?

Abilities: ?

Talents: ?

Affinities: ?

Tch, deep yellow, not bad at all.

The behavior of this thing irked me, with its constant dodging.

I tried checking it 4 times before this but it always evaded me.

I had hoped it wouldn't have good potential but reality did not answer my hope.

Petty, maybe but I can be petty sometimes as well.'

The startled Staryu turned around wondering what the hell just happened.

Seeing nothing there, it acted confused before simply deciding to change its locations.

Mikail decided to check the pond for materials at another time since he did not want to get wet right now.

He went to the Nido pairs den next.

His father's Nidorino and his mother's Nidorina were both there.

It seemed like his father had left behind his Nidorino to look after the safety of their home because he knew that his father took Growlithe with him.

He made sure the pair was okay with him being there and touching them.

Their species being territorial and poisonous and all that.

While they were herd Pokemon and he was part of that herd, he did not want to risk anything.

Once he checked their status was unable to hold back and exclaimed.

"Woah."

'Species: Nidorino

Gender: Male

Type: Poison

Potential: Light Blue

Stage: ?

Genetic variation: ?

Abilities: ?

Talents: ?

Affinities: ?

And

Species: Nidorina

Gender: Female

Type: Poison

Potential: Deep Green

Stage: ?

Genetic variation: ?

Abilities: ?

Talents: ?

Affinities: ?

What the hell?

This is absurd.

How does this keep happening?

Just how?

Light blue potential and deep green potential.

I could have somehow accepted it if they had both deep green potential seeing how lucky my parents seem to be but light blue, c'mon.'

The Nido pair looked at him in confusion after his exclamation and Mikail just fibbed.

"You two are so cool I couldn't control myself."

They just nodded deciding to simply ignore his strange behavior, attributing it to his age.

Mikail decided to just accept that his parents seemed to be liked by Mew, Jirachi, and everyone else responsible for luck and started looking around to search for something he could take from here as well.

He was not disappointed and did find something.

It was a thorn that seemed to have fallen of Nidorino.

'Name: Nidorino's Poisonous Thorn

Type: Poison

Quality: Mid

Faults: None

Uses: It's a thorn that fell from a Nidorino's spine.

Contains concentrated poison-type energy.

Can be used as a supplement to help poison-type Pokemon.

Jackpot.

I hit the f'cking jackpot.

This is the first time I see material of mid-quality.

My parents are my lucky stars.

Not only are they obscenely lucky themselves, but they also bring luck to me.

Let's hope my space can replicate it, even if I doubt it.

It currently can't upgrade stuff to mid-quality but maybe replicating it is easier.

Please, let me be lucky once more.'

Mikail took the poisonous thorn into his space and beat a hasty retreat after saying goodbye to the Nido pair.

Now that he had gone over his family's property once, he decided to check up on the materials he had put into his space.

He saw the same standard report for all low-quality materials.

'Analyzing...., silver powder analyzed.

Start improving...., currently cannot be improved.

Storing silver powder in the sub-space material.

Silver powder can be replicated in the sub-space.

Process finished.'

Like he had expected the Nidorino's thorn was the exception.

'Analyzing...., Nidorino's poisonous thorn analyzed.

Start improving...., currently cannot be improved.

Storing Nidorino's poisonous thorn in the sub-space material.

Nidorino's poisonous thorn can not be replicated in the sub-space.

Process finished.'

He had predicted that it would be unable to increase its quality but had hoped it could be replicated.

Well, it couldn't.

For now, at least.

Hopefully, that would change soon.

Having done his check-up and estimating that he had spent about 1-hour combing over their property, Mikail decided to check out the surroundings of their home for a bit and left their property.

He noticed how the Butterfree both started to tail him but kept a distance of roughly 50 meters.

Accepting that he kept walking ahead.
