6 Ash Ketchum

Alex only worked the waiter shift in the morning, for three hours- which meant 90 Pokedollars and before he left, he cleaned up the entire restaurant and Delia paid him 20 Pokedollars.

He had earned a total of 110 Pokedollars just from those two jobs and in his morning shift only.

Now Alex was in Pallet forest with Caterpie feasting upon leaves once again, Caterpie was able to devour a lot more leaves in a short amount of time which showed Alex that Caterpie was slowly growing stronger.

'At least in the eating leaves aspect,' Alex thought as Caterpie slowly munched on leaves.

There was nothing more they could do, Caterpie had to develop a proper foundation for evolution and Alex couldn't wait to have a Butterfree, although Butterfree didn't have too much Combat power- it had some debuff moves like Stun Spore, Sleep powder and Poison Powder which could be used to turn a battle into his favor.

After devouring some more leaves, Caterpie looked at Alex and expressed that he was contented, Alex raised up the Pokeball and returned Caterpie to his Pokeball.

"I think I'm done here," Alex said remembering his tight schedule, "I still have to pick 50 Oran berries from Professor Oak,"

He slowly started walking toward Pallet town, Sam wasn't still around and Alex desired the Geodude but he would have to wait. As Alex continued traversing through Pallet forest, he met a raven haired boy with spiky hair and brown eyes coming close to a Pidgey.

'You've got to be kidding me,' Alex thought.

It was Ash Ketchum, Alex would never forget or mistake that signature goofy smile or marks right below his cheeks but what he was doing seemed really dangerous.

'As if Ash knows the meaning of safety,' Alex remembered.

He was the Main character of the series and a magnet for trouble, but Alex knew things were going along to plan- If he wanted to befriend his boss, he had to become friends with Ash first and what better way to kindle friendship than a polite rescue?

The Pidgey noticed Ash and started flapping it's wings menacingly, Ash started running away but Pidgey chased after him.

"Oh No!" Ash exclaimed as he pushed more energy into his legs and continued running, so he couldn't notice white tentacles wrapping around PIdgey and dragging into a portal below, Alex gave a small smile as Pidgey was completely pulled into his Sub-space.

"Hey, It's really dangerous walking around Pallet forest without a Pokemon," I said and Ash turned to me.

"Who are you?!"

"I'm Alex," Alex said while folding his hand.

Ash turned and looked behind Alex but he didn't see any Pidgey.

"What happened to the Pidgey?" Ash asked, he was curious.

Alex chuckled and raised a Pokeball.

"I beat it," Alex said, "Next time you shouldn't try to anger a wild Pokemon like that, you could be seriously hurt,"

'Haah, At least I tried to sound mature,' Alex thought.

"I understand… But are you a Pokemon trainer?" Ash asked, his eyes glistening with curiosity.

Alex smiled.

"Yes, I am a Pokemon trainer," Alex said, "But the Pokemon I have is a secret,"

He couldn't go flaunting a Caterpie, that didn't make him cool. In fact, it made him look like a Bug catcher.

"Oh Come on," Ash muttered and then smiled, "Alright, I'll see them later, You see I want to be a Pokemon master so I have to get acquainted with Pokemon. I wish I was already 16 years old so I could go on my journey,"

Alex understood something- Ash seemed mature here, just a little but it was something he could work on.

"That's a nice goal… becoming Pokemon master," Alex said, "But to achieve your goals, You don't go around and start shouting you're going to be a Pokemon master, no you focus your attention and resolve into your goal, A Pokemon master must not only be a powerful trainer but he must also know a lot about Pokemon,"

Ash nodded as Alex imparted wisdom.

"Anyway," Alex said, "I'm feeling tired so I'm going back to Pallet, you still want to hang around in the forest?"

"No," Ash said, "Can we go together?"

"Sure," Alex said and patted Ash's back, "Don't worry, you'll make a splendid trainer,"

#####

"Hoho, You must be Alex right?" Professor Oak asked.

"Yes sir," Alex replied as he brought down the bag, "There are 50 oran berries in this bag,"

Daisy blushed, Alex was wearing a black singlet and blue trousers and she had to admit that the black singlet didn't do anything to hide those abs although there was something strange, instead of a Caterpie- A Pidgey was perched on Alex's shoulder.

'So he got a new Pokemon?' Daisy wondered.

Two aides took the bag from Alex and left.

"But Professor Oak, what do you plan on using 50 oran berries for?" Alex asked.

"Ah, we're going to cook some nutritious Pokefood," Daisy spoke up quickly, "for the Pokemon in the ranch,"

Professor Oak gave a slight nod and Alex eased back a bit.

"So how much are you selling a berry?" Professor Oak asked.

"A single berry is 2 Pokedollars," Alex replied with a shrug.

Daisy's eyes widened.

"Why?" Professor Oak asked.

"They are much more different from any other berry you've ever seen, despite being Oran berries, they're of the highest quality- Try one," Alex replied, he was proud of boasting the berries grown in the sub-space.

"I'll trust you on this one," Professor Oak said and then brought out a Pokephone, "Call your Bank Number for the transaction,"

The United Pokemon Bank [UPB] was an international bank where residents of every region could open bank accounts nevertheless of their age or size. When Alex had bought a Pokephone, he had opened a UPB bank account by inputting his information and a limit was set on his bank account, it couldn't hold more than 50, 000 Pokedollars but Alex knew it would change by the time he became a registered trainer.

Alex brought out his Pokephone and Professor Oak did the transaction immediately, Alex was credited 100 Pokedollars into his account and a small smile spread across his face.

"Thank you, See you later Daisy," Alex said and turned around to leave.

"Yeah see you," Daisy muttered.

#####

Alex entered his living room and lay on the couch, it had been an eventful day but he had more things to do.

"I think it's time to enter Route 1," Alex said.

He had already wasted a month doing nothing but it was time to start training, the world didn't wait for anyone and he definitely wouldn't wait for Sam to return with the Geodude before entering Route 1.
