Chamber Of Emptiness

A week has gone by since I started the training regime here in Santalune City. There has been much progress.

All my Pokemon have been getting physically stronger, especially Pinsir. He had the most improvement. All of my Pokemon have gained some levels from this. I could say with my chest, today was a success.

Also, since Zinnia's Pokemon were there, it was way easier for them to learn moves. I was thinking about buying them Tms but decided after I get my first gym badge, I'll reward them with such items.

Also, with Zinnia, I could do daily Pokemon battles to help my Pokemon gain more organized battle experience. It was not like the wild when I could sic all 4 of my Pokemon to only one Pokemon.

I scanned all my Pokemon with my PokeDex. I smiled once I saw the result of the scan. It read:

They were strong Pokemon, alright. With Pokemon like this, I'll soon be strong enough for the first gym.

Pinsir was reaching the level of 20, and that was good and bad. What I mean by bad, is that his growth will be exponentially slower than the current.

The concept is called the " Plateau Of Evolution", and it was first coined by the biggest professor in the whole world, Samuel Oak.

This will also happen with Levels 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100. The road to becoming strong will be slow and that's alright. This also happened in the game, but it happened every level so I rather take this one.

My Pokemon weren't the only ones training today though. I was training this week with Zinnia to learn the power of "Aura".

During the first half of the week, my training was kind of slow. Zinnia already told me it would be hard so I kept on training. After the second half of the week, A lot of things had changed.

On Friday, I finally had my first connection to Aura. It was while I was meditating and I could faintly feel the blue energy in my body. I rejoiced in joy, while Zinnia only smiled.

By the last 2 days of the week, I made some progress. Zinnia decided to hold her end of the deal and helped me train my Aura with her. She would also join in, as after all, she was just a beginner.

I could turn on my Aura powers, only to faintly feel the Aura around me. The radius for my aura was also small, as it was only 5 inches.

Soon, I'll be able to use Aura to a better capacity, and finally gain the ability to locate Mega Stones. That was the ultimate cheat for me, especially for my Research Task.

Speaking about my Research Task, I had to do something I had been putting off for a week. Professor Sycamore gave me a lead on a Mega Stone, and the location he gave me was the Chamber Of Emptiness.

The Chamber Of Emptiness was a small cave located on Route 22. As the name suggested, back then when people found it for the first time, they thought there would be something cool in there.

There was absolutely nothing, it was just a normal cave. The only weird thing that stuck with People was the oddly perfect circle the cave had. It soon faded into obscurity.

I don't know why they thought something crazy would be there, but I guess it was the era of the treasure hunters on the internet.

It was noon, and I was eating lunch in the Pokemon Center's cafeteria. Zinnia was also with me, eating my food. We grew pretty close over the past week.

While we were eating our lunch, we were watching Astrid's Gym Battle here at Santalune City.

All gym battles were recorded by the league and put on their official website, under the Kalos domain. It was a way for hardcore Pokemon Battle fans to get hyped for certain tournaments like the Rookie Cup.

She led off with her Noibat, who was promptly defeated by Viola's, the Santalune City Gym, Butterfree.

Then she brang in her Darumaka, who after a long battle, defeated the Butterfree. Then the Gym Leader brought out her Beedril. The Beedrill swiftly defeated the Darumaka.

Than Astrid brang out her final Pokemon, Absol. Despite the type of weakness, Absol clutched against both Beedrill and the ace, Vivillion.

"That Absol pretty strong, you know. I wonder why she didn't use it in her battle with you", Zinnia said to me.

" It's not like I brought the strongest Pokemon in my team", I said to Astrid. My strongest Pokemon would be Pinsir, even though I had the most synergy with Charmander. Charmander was my starter after all.

Once I finished my lunch, I decided now was the time for me to begin my journey to the Chamber Of Emptiness.

I got up from my seat at the cafeteria before leaving. Zinnia saw me leaving and decided to say something.

" Alain, where are you going", She said to me.

I looked her in the eyes. A lot of thoughts were going through my brain about whether or not I should let Zinnia come with me on the quest. After a moment, I decided I will tell Zinnia about the expedition.

We were both now at the east exit of Santalune City, which will lead me to Route 22, also known as "Détourner Way".

Zinnia was way too excited." A lead to a Mega Stone! That's amazing. Wonder which one it is, maybe a Salamancnite!". I knew the reason she was so excited about a Mega Stone. It was to collect them to summon Rayquaza to stop a meteorite.

She didn't tell me this information yet, but I play Oras, and the Delta Episode was one of my favorite parts.

I remember in the games, that it was said this meteor had enough power to break the world. I didn't want my new life, in my new world, to be cut short.

We walked through Route 22, with our Pokemons around us. That included Charmander, Gible, Pinsir, Bagon, and Aron. We would only call our fishes out in battle.

No Pokemon wanted to mess with us, and we safely made it to the cave without a problem.

Zinnia and I both looked at each other, before walking inside the Chamber Of Emptiness.

It was the first narrow pathway I and Zinna had to squeeze through.

We squeezed through the narrow pathway for another 10 minutes, before finally making it to the main part. Once we made it, our eyes widened.

The Chamber Of Emptiness was certainly not empty, or at least anymore. It looked like a hoarder's paradise. There were tons of items, ranging from Poke Balls, Potions, Repels, and many more items. All of those were piled onto each other.

"What is this place", Zinnia said in horror. After she said that, we both heard something too scary.

It was a laugh, a laugh that sounded like it had a microphone on. The voice echoed too as we were in a cave. All of our Pokemon got on guard after hearing this sound.

I decided to turn on my Poke Scanner, trying to see what Pokemon this was, or at least the primary typing.

I started to scan the surrounding area. After scanning at the ground on accident, a notification went off. It read:

[ Energy Signature detected! Type: Ghost

Star Level: ⭐⭐]

A Ghost-type? That explained the way the Pokemon could be on the ground. It was just phasing in the ground.

Out of nowhere, the ghost-type Pokemon came out of the ground in a hurry. We all saw the Ghost-type Pokemon now.

It was a large, purple, spherical Pokemon that was surrounded by a purple haze. It had a wicked smile, that infuriated all of my Pokemon. It was a Gastly.

I looked at Gastly, trying to see if it would attack. I and Gastly had a staring contest, both of us not wanting to fold.

Zinnia's Pov:

I was looking around the cave, trying to locate the Mega Stone. That's when I saw it. On top of one of the piles of probably stolen contents, I saw what I was looking for.

It was a primarily grey marble, with the colors, purple and red, cutting through the middle of it. I made my way toward the heap of treasures and picked the stone right off it.

Alain's Pov:

I didn't keep my eyes off the ghost. My Pokemon didn't too. All of us were trying to see whether or not one of us will make a move.

That's when Gastly suddenly got angry and shot a Shadow Ball. Not at me, but at Zinnia. Fortunately, Zinnia's Feebas intercepted the Shadow Ball with her own Water Pulse.

I looked at Zinnia and saw the Mega Stone in her hand. That must have been Gastly's favorite treasure. I didn't know if Gastly was ticked off but it sure was now.

Zinnia's Pokemon were now trying to fight Gastly or attempting to hurt their trainer.

I had to stop all this. I brought out one of my empty Luxury Balls and held it out to Gastly.

It didn't attack me the moment I stepped in, and that meant something. Maybe Gastly wanted something more.

At the same time, I yelled out to Zinnia." Zinnia, hand me the Mega Stone, now". Zinnia was hesitant at first, but after more persuasion, she handed me the stone.

I tossed the Mega Stone back to Gastly, much to everyone's surprise Gastly caught the Mega Stone by the tongue before floating over to me with a smile.

It tapped my Luxury Ball, getting sucked in. This time, it didn't even shake and a "Ding" could be heard from the Poke Ball. I guess my theory was right.

Gastly wanted to be with someone. We were probably the first people to visit this cave for a long time. Maybe that's why there was treasure here now so that people wouldn't call it the Chamber Of Emptiness anymore and visit.

I would soon ask Gastly to give me the Mega Stone, so I could send it over to Professor Sycamore. It was not like I could use it right now, so might as well.

We made it out of the cave and back to Route 22. Zinnia was kind of mad that I gave the Mega Stone back to Gastly.

" Alain, I needed that Mega Stone and now, Gastly won't ever give it", Zinnia said to me. I looked at her after she said that.

"You know, you still haven't told me why you need the Mega Stones. From Santalune Forest to now, you always had these Mega Stones on your mind, but why?", I asked Zinnia.

I knew, but I wanted transparency with Zinnia. After all, I let Zinnia come with me in the first place.

Zinnia's Pov:

After Alain said that, I stayed quiet for a long time. In my mind though, a million thoughts were racing in my head.

Should I tell Alain? I mean, Alain has these leads on where these Mega Stones are, and I don't have it. If I told him the truth, maybe he'll help me.

After another minute of contemplating, I talked.

" Fine, I'll tell you when we get back".
