43 Oreburgh City (43)

"Woah that's so cool!" Ash exclaims with stars in his eyes. "Brock and I have traveled with a Vulpix once but Brock gave it back to the Pokemon breeder girl." Ash adds right after while we kept on walking on the path towards our destination.

"Yeah you should visit Alola sometime Ash, but I'd suggest going to a few more regions beforehand as you would want to check out the Unova and Kalos league." I tell him with a grin. Ash hearing this nods as he still wants to adventure around, he's a natural danger attractor but who am I to judge. I'm just gonna snipe some Pokemon if I can.

"Look ahead." Brock calls out. All of us moving our heads, start to see buildings in a close distance which we recognise as Oreburgh city. "We are already here." He adds at the end with a sigh of relief.

We were all tired at this point in time and really needed sleep. I think at this point of the journey, the original gang just slept before going to the gym the on the same day as it's way too early in the morning right now.

The walk between Jubilife and Oreburgh wasn't too exciting with the only interesting interactions being the training between the Pokemon. This lasted for a week.

I gave my Chimchar the [Dig], [Sunny Day] and [Protect] TMs to widen his horizons when battling. I obviously haven't trained the moves much and just had him get familiar with dig as it's a good move for the gym.

Turtwig also got some TMs which were [Protect] and [Stealth Rock]. People are missing out on a lot when not using set up moves. I've watched heaps of battles and it usually includes fast paced combat with only damaging moves being used.

So I'm gonna spread out my battling style and maybe try some old game strategies like poison stall.

While training in the forest. Dawn, Ash and I would battle a lot which would help all three of us in the long run. For Ash it trained his Pokemon while for Dawn and I, it helped us get more battle experience and with our decision making.

Funny enough, Dawn decided to battle a few gyms but not actually compete in the league.

Ash was an aggressive battler so both Dawn and I had to make quick split second decisions against him. Sometimes we flopped and at other times we beat him.

No one's perfect.

"Speaking about past Pokemon Ash, you should bring some old teamates back from past journeys. Funny enough, I watched your indigo league battle against a kid called Ritchie way back." I recall with a smile. Obviously not because of how "good" the battle was, but more nostalgia than anything. Ash hearing this, gets a shocked look.

"You were really there?" He asks with his eyes widening. Brock getting a warm smile on his face, started to look up into the sky as if reminiscing about something.

"Well this was unexpected, but he did a bring up a good point though Ash. I know you want to catch new Pokemon but it wouldn't be so bad if you brough one or two Pokemon back that haven't evolved at all." Brock chimes in while rubbing his chin. Dawn who was currently combing my Vulpix's fur because of a previous problem, didn't join in the conversation and just hummed.

Ash still stoked about what I said before, started to think about which Pokemon would be a great Pokemon to bring while getting a small glimpse of the forgotten Ritchie kid in his head.

'Ash should bring in a starter he hasn't evolved into their full form yet.' I thought to myself. The stronger he gets the better for me, the more competition I have the more experience I get in the end anyways.

It ended up taking us a little over 13 minutes to get to the nearest Pokemon centre and settle down for the day.

"Ash give me your Pokedex, I'll register us at the gym so we don't have to wait tommorow." I tell him with an exhausted complexion. The toll of not getting sleep was killing me but I'll regret having to battle a recently evolved Rampardos if I let Paul and Ash do their thing.

"You sure Aichi, we can do this tommorow." Ash says a little concerned. While rubbing my eyes, I assure Ash as he ends up agreeing in the end. Before leaving though, I sent a message to Brock on my Poke phone.

"Make sure to check the message at your own time." I tell Brock as I start to make my way outside. Not before returning Vulpix to her Pokeball though.

"This City is quite large." I mumbled out. Walking through the dim outer streets of the City, I look at my gps to locate the gym.

There are signs and pathways leading to the gym, but at this point I just want to explore the city a bit. I may be tired but I'll be leaving the gang after the first gym.

I think I've befriended them already and would probably meet them again sooner or later.

*zzzt*

Ignoring the flickering lights, I make my way around the rocky but wide path near the gym. The place is quite unique looking compared to other gyms which gives me a weird feeling.

This is just a mine with a battle field and a front desk on the side.

Paul is probably already resting up right now and wanting to visit the gym later on. It's currently 6:00 in the morning and we all need to sleep for a little bit.

*Jingle* *Jingle*

A small bell could be heard as I opened the doors of the entrance. Heading inside, I spot a man who could be described as a hippie wearing sunglasses behind the desk.

The man hearing the bell, straightens himself up and gives that trademark cashier smile. Or any fake smile in general. Walking up to the guy, I pull out two Pokedex's.

"Hey, I'd like to book two battles at a later time today?" I asked the guy. The man nodding without a verbal response, just signals for the two Pokedex's in my hand with some tired movements.

After specifying which time we would be arriving later today, I quickly left the place and made my way back to the Pokemon centre.

-Master, someone very weak but with minimal presence was following us- I hear Aegislash say in our link. Hearing this my face adapts to a frown wondering who it could be.

'I will lose them when I finish the gym battle.' I think to myself. Just in case though, I'll release Slowbro to guard me with Aegislash in my room.

I'm leaving this city the next day anyways.
