24 A Pikachu! (24)

"I still don't understand why you want to separate after my third contest." I hear Dawn mumble as we were resting both of our heads on a boulder. We were now a good distance away from Sandgem Town and have decided to take a little rest.

"You should catch a Pokemon." I suggest seeing her negative mood. I didn't want her to get too fixated on this as I wanted to have a journey at my own pace.

Having company is fine and all and I want to experience it for a bit, but going at my own pace would be better. I wouldn't need to deal with other people but also can do what ever I want.

Going from gym to gym without pause and then taking a break at anytime is the way to go, and with my knowledge know what will happen most of the time and take advantage of it.

I'm not stupid enough to think that the Butterfree effect didn't happen.

For now though I got a plan. I wanted to travel with Ash and part ways after the tag team battles at Hearthome City. This was so I could gain some benefits with knowing certain stuff and is how I will get my next team member.

"Sure, I was wondering what a new trainer should do. Probably catch a Pokemon right?" She says pumping her fist into the air.

"Piplup!" Her Pokemon chimes in, copying her movements.

"Come on let's go Chimchar." I call out to the Chimchar who was climbing trees right now. Chimchar hearing me makes his way back and gets on my shoulders.

He already knows about my psychic abilities but I mostly use them for battles. There isn't a reason for me to train them anymore as I can practically do as I want now.

But occasionally if I'm bored I will train it. It's like having assignment that isn't going to the part of your grade, you just can't be bothered.

"Char!" Chimchar shouts delighted at the prospect of battle. I was "training" him by letting him constantly jump between tree tops at his fastest speeds. Not only does this improve his speed but also his agility and balance.

I want him to be very agile as I'm currently used to a Slowpoke who blinks everywhere. A Pokemon who moves with high speeds would be a nice change of pace.

'Maybe I should give him some weights when he evolves.' I think to myself as Dawn and I get on our bikes.

Chimchar getting into a comfortable position in the basket on my bike, starts to make a relaxed face and slumps down.

"This way leads to Jubilife City." I tell Dawn as she nods back.

"I place dibs on the first Pokemon." She shouts playfully as she heads off first. Sighing, I start to follow her as she peddles down the road. I'm naturally a lazy person, at this rate I might make Aegislash carry me around.

We went on like this for a few minutes until we spotted our first Pokemon.

"Hey it's a Pokemon." Dawn points out seeing it hanging upside down above the road.

"Good job genius." I retort with a smirk. Dawn ignoring me pulls out her Pokedex and scans the Pokemon. I'm guessing she wants to capture this Pokemon.

"Burmy, the bag worm Pokemon. To protect itself from the cold wind, Burmy uses leaves and branches to make a cloak around itself." Piplup not exactly waiting for Dawn's instructions immediately attacks with a [Bubble Beam]

"Piplup!" It shouts as he one shots the Burmy, sending it falling to the floor.

"That was amazing Piplup!" Dawn praised her Pokemon seeing it win. Chimchar getting a little jealous, looks at me but I quickly give him a cold look.

He needs to be able to control himself, I will let him have his fun and enjoy himself but he can't go loose all the time.

-You will get your time, just wait- I tell him softly in our telepathic link. Chimchar hearing me starts to cheer up a little.

While this was happening though, Burmy was cloaking itself at record breaking speeds and shortly after escaping.

"Piplup!" The penguin Pokemon panicked seeing Burmy escape. Dawn not realising before it was too late, just stood there and watched it leave.

"There's always a next time." I tell Dawn.

"Yeah I wont make the same mistake next time." She says while returning back to her bike with a down trodden look. Before she could get on her bike though, we hear a suddenly hear a noise.

*Rustle*

Looking towards the bushes, a Pikachu suddenly comes out with injuries.

"He's all yours." I tell Dawn. Dawn pulling out her Pokedex again, scans Pikachu.

'So this is Ash's Pikachu huh.' I thought to myself a little interested.

"Pikachu, the mouse Pokemon. It can generate electric attacks from the electric pouches from both of its cheeks." Dawn knowing the type weakness still doesn't falter and after seeing Piplup's confident look she decided to catch it.

"Piplup use [Bubble Beam]!" She shouts as Piplup sends a beam of bubbles towards Pikachu.

*Pop**Pop*

Pikachu having non of that immediately uses a [Thunder Bolt] piercing through the [Bubble Beam]

"So that's a [Thunder Bolt], use [Peck] this time." Dawn commands Piplup as he channels flying type energy into its beak.

Piplup graining speed makes its way towards Pikachu just to get hit by a [Thunder Bolt].

"Piplup!" The Pokemon shouts in pain as he gets sent flying at Dawn's bike making impact.

"My bike!" Dawn shouts seeing her bike now made of up ashes. "Oh I'll catch you alright." She says a bit irritated. Throwing the Pokeball against Pikachu, it makes contact but doesn't capture Pikachu telling us that it already has a trainer.

'So they're here.' I thought to myself sensing some oddly weird people.
