1 CHAPTER 1 – THE BEGINNING OF A GREAT AND LONG ADVENTURE (Fixed)

Welcome to the world of Pokémon! A world full of infinite possibilities, there inhabit creatures called Pokémon, some people treat them as brothers, others as friends and others to fight, in short, a wonderful world.

At the age of 15, many teenagers would go on their journey to become trainers and with their Pokémon access the title of Champion, the dream of every trainer.

Today, specifically there was someone who began his journey, a teenager of about 16 years of age, inhabitant of a small town in Kanto called Palette Town, his name was Ash Ketchum, a boy with aspirations to become the number 1 Pokémon master in the world.

With that said, let's go to our protagonist's house.

It was early and Ash was asleep in his bed carelessly because his sheets were all pulled out and he on the edge of the bed about to fall, but just then, he opened his eyes and looked around in confusion.

"This is not my home, where am I?" – Ash looked around looking for something familiar to him.

By chance of life there was a mirror in his room that Ash noticed, so he got up and looked into it.

When he looked at himself, he opened his eyes wide and in surprise touched his face as if he couldn't believe his eyes.

I'm Ash, a little older, but there's no doubt, I'm him! – shouted Ash highly surprised.

But the scream seemed to be heard by someone because suddenly, someone entered his room, it was Delia, Ash's mother.

"I'm glad you're excited Ash, but it's early in the morning, next time avoid hitting that scream," Delia said while yawning.

Ash could not articulate a word when seeing Delia because until now he only saw her in the anime and seeing her in real life along with her sudden rebirth in Ash left him speechless.

"Is something wrong with you?" asked Delia, confused.

"This... no, nothing, by the way, where is pikachu?" – asked Ash.

Since Ash was older than he remembered, it was obvious that pikachu should be with him, in addition to being the world champion.

"How where is it? Oh, I know, I guess you decided that would be your first Pokémon, it's a good choice, yesterday I saw a program where pikachu came out and I liked it a lot" – smiled Delia.

Wait, what's going on here? Clearly this Ash is older than what I remember, but pikachu is not there and Delia does not seem to lie.

"What day is Mommy today?" asked Ash curiously.

"Aha, I already told you yesterday that you weren't going to catch me! Today is your sixteenth birthday, the day you'll get your first Pokémon, do you think I wouldn't remember?" – Delia said with a smile.

Ash was stunned and clearly understood what happened here, for some unknown reason in his previous world he may have died or not, but the fact is that he transmigrated to the Pokémon world as Ash, the strange thing is that, in this world, trainers went out in search of adventures at 16 and not at 10 as in the original anime, although he had to admit that he liked that idea.

He really liked the Pokémon anime and it is true that Ash made many mistakes, but the last season was 10 and left a bad taste in his mouth when Ash stopped being the protagonist to make way for Liko and the other boy whose name he did not remember, not that he did not like the new anime, but he was not used to Ash not being the protagonist.

"Is something wrong with you, Ash?" – Delia asked confused to see Ash standing so long.

"No, of course not," smiled Ash.

"Well come, get dressed and have breakfast, since you got up early, you can have your breakfast without haste" – said Delia leaving her room.

Upon seeing her leave, Ash went to what appeared to be a closet and opened it finding the clothes Ash first wore in the anime, everything but the cap was there.

"What memories..." – Ash said as he took out his clothes and put them on.

Then, he sat down on his bed for a moment and began to recapitulate the facts.

"Let's see, I don't remember if I died or not in the other world, but the fact is that now I'm Ash and also 16 years old" – Ash said to himself.

Then he looked around and saw the original Ash's room, it was a mess with clothes thrown all over the sides.

"Anyway lamenting now does not work, we will have to face it, well, now that I think about it, will I have a system like those that reincarnate in the novels?" – asked Ash.

But the answer came right away, no, he didn't have any system and he tried in every possible way, but there was no luck.

"Okay, then, I was reborn as a 16-year-old Ash with no system... better, I guess..." – sighed Ash.

But just then Delia's cry was heard.

"Breakfast is here, you can go down!" – shouted Delia.

Ash sighed, put on his shoes, and went downstairs.

There, in the kitchen Delia was waiting for him with an apron while serving the breakfast dishes, breakfast was simple, some toast with butter and a glass of chocolate milk.

"Sit down, ah and tell me how butter tastes, it's miltank's milk, in the supermarket they told me it was tasty" – smiled Delia.

Ash nodded and sat down on the chair, then buttered on the toast while Delia turned on the TV.

"Following the news of the morning, new sightings of a mysterious Pokémon have been observed in the Paldea region, currently no more details of said Pokémon are known, but experts are already looking for clues about the whereabouts of said Pokémon!" – said the presenter.

"Wow, every day you see something new, a new Pokémon not discovered, how interesting" – said Delia while eating some toast.

But seeing it, Ash could only think of one thing, that TV said Paldea, the new region, so, in this universe, there were all the regions available to date, including Paldea, which was perfect because he didn't want to have only Pokémon from Kanto.

"By the way, Ash, did you decide from which region to start?" – Delia asked suddenly.

"What do you mean?" asked Ash.

"Don't play dumb, obviously I mean the region where you will start, first-time coaches are always given the option to start in the region they like the most," Delia explained.

Great, another thing I didn't know, but I'm clear where to start.

"Right, I'll start here, in Kanto," Ash said without hesitation.

"Good choice, although to be honest I was already expecting it" – smiled Delia.

Of course he could have chosen any region but he preferred to start with Kanto for simple nostalgia, there was no deep reason, only that.

"But remember that once you sign up for the indigo league you won't be able to participate in gym battles from other regions, only Kanto," Delia reminded him.

"I already knew that," Ash lied.

"Clearly, but I remind you just in case, that you are very clueless" – smiled Delia.

Then, the quiet breakfast continued and when they finished, Delia picked up the dishes next to Ash.

"Let me pick up the dishes and go to the laboratory, Professor Oak will be waiting for you" – said Delia.

Ash nodded and before leaving Delia spoke to him again.

"True, before leaving, take the cap that I prepared for the occasion, I left it next to the entrance, I almost forgot" – said Delia.

Ash looked to the side of the entrance and on a small piece of furniture, he saw the cap that Ash used in those alternative films.

He picked it up, put it on his head and left the house.

Today was an ideal day, the sun rose in the sky giving off a scorching heat, small spearows and pidgeys perched on the roofs of the houses, among other well-known Pokémon in the area.

Ash looked around in wonder at the sights as he watched the Pokémon fly, but soon realized he had to leave and hurried over.

Luckily identifying the laboratory was not a problem because it was the largest building in all of Pueblo Paleta.

Quickly, he came to the entrance and knocked on the door.

"Who is it?" – answered a voice.

"It's me, Ash," Ash said.

"Ah, Ash, that's good, that's good, it's good!" – said the voice.

Ash opened the door and was shocked when he saw the person, it was Professor Oak in the flesh, there, in front of him.

"Come on, don't stay at the door, come in" – Professor Oak smiled upon seeing his reaction.

Ash walked in and headed towards Professor Oak.

"It seems that you were really excited and got up earlier than usual, unfortunately we have a problem" – said Professor Oak frowning.

"What's the problem?" asked Ash confused.

"Well, Gary and two other trainers arrived an hour ago and already took all the starters, unfortunately," sighed Professor Oak.

Oh god, I know where this goes, but let's play along.

"Everyone, now what will I do? I even got up early," Ash said disappointed.

"Well... I still have a Pokémon left, but I don't know if you'll like it..." – Professor Oak said as he crossed his arms.

Curious that even arriving at the time Ash runs out of initial Pokémon and has to choose the pikachu.

"Why don't you tell me and let's try?" – said Ash hopefully.

I guess you can try – Professor Oak said as he took a pokéball out of his pocket with a little lightning bolt in it.

"Inside there is a pikachu that I captured some time ago, the problem is that it is somewhat rebellious," said Professor Oak.

I hope I don't take the download.

"I'll try," Ash said.

"But..." – said Professor Oak reluctantly.

"Today is my sixteenth birthday and I will go on a trip, for that I need an initial teacher, I have to try" – insisted Ash.

"Good, but don't say I didn't warn you" – said the professor giving him the pokéball.

Ash picked it up and excitedly threw it lightly into the air.

The pokéball opened and revealed a small pikachu with a bad face.

Ash was thrilled to see that it was indeed Ash's pikachu, the one from the anime.

"Pika!" said Pikachu angrily looking around.

"Hello pikachu, my name is Ash and from now on we will be companions" – smiled Ash.

Pikachu stared at him.

"God here we go," said Professor Oak nervously.

But contrary to his expectations, the pikachu did not throw the lightning bolt he expected, but simply extended his small hand to Ash surprising him.

"Delighted!" smiled Ash.

After recovering from the initial shock, Professor Oak took out a pokédex and some pokéball from his pockets, 5 specifically.

Ash looked at it and noticed that the pokédex was one of the new ones and not Dexter as in the original.

"As they seem to get along, I won't entertain them anymore, here's your pokédex and your pokéball," the professor said giving them to her.

Ash accepted them, but realized that he had forgotten the backpack, luckily, he had the typical belt to store pokéball and the pokédex was thin enough to fit in his pocket.

"Another thing before you left, as I assumed you would want to start with Kanto I took the trouble to sign you up for the league, good luck" – said the professor.

Ash sighed and walked out of the place with Pikachu beside him.

Not that Pikachu and he were the best colleagues, but at least he didn't electrocute him and seemed to have more respect for him than the original.

"Come on pikachu, I'll introduce you to my mother and then we'll leave," Ash said with a smile.

"Pika" – Pikachu nodded.

Then they both ran to Ash's house where Delia was already waiting for him with the backpack in her hands.

"I see that in the end you decided on the cute Pikachu, good choice, by the way, take your backpack" – said Delia while giving Ash her backpack.

Then he picked up Pikachu and began to caress him with emotion, Pikachu looked uncomfortable, but still held on.

"Well, that's it, I'm leaving mom," Ash said with a smile.

"Okay, be careful son and don't forget to call me from time to time" – Delia said leaving Pikachu on the ground.

"I will," Ash nodded as he went for a run with Pikachu by his side.

"Let's go Pikachu, on the adventure!" – Ash said with emotion.

"Pika!" – Pikachu nodded with emotion.
