Alex decides to continue his journey to Pewter city so that he can have his first gym battle but to get there he has to pass through the Viridian forest which is densely populated with bug pokemons and no one has ever reached the inner most region of the forest.
The path to Pewter city was created by the alliance through the Viridian forest's outer region because everyone has to take long away around the middle and inner region of the forest it takes 3 days for the trip. According to the rumors the middle region is dominated by 4 low king level pokemons and the inner region is the domain of a low Half emperor level Pokemon.
Viridian City's Northern sentry troops stops Alex from going into the Viridian forest.
Soldier1: Boy, Where do you think you are going?
Alex: Sir , I would like to go to Pewter city. Is there a problem?
Soldier 2: The crime rates in the cities of Kanto Region are increasing in an alarming rate so I suggest you move along with a group .
Alex : Thank you sir for your advice, is there a group going to Pewter city anytime soon?
Soldier 1 : There should be a group going there soon they should be here anytime.
As Alex and the soldiers were talking a group of young students along with 3 teachers come to the sentry troops camp.
Mr David: Hello sirs we are here to take the children to Pewter city.
Soldier 1 : Hello Mr David, Mr Vincent, Miss Kathy good to see you all.
Alex : Hello Teachers I would like to go to Pewter city do you mind if I tag along??
Mr Vincent: What is your name boy? Why do you want to go to Pewter city?
Alex : sir my name is Alex ,I am going Pewter city to challenge the gym leader.
Vincent: You fight against the gym leader.... Hahaha that's a good joke ...you think you will be able to fight against the gym leader of Pewter city with your little strength.
Alex: How do you know about my strength without even battling me??
Vincent: oh... So are you Challenging me to battle now... Sure let's see how strong you really are.
