Vs Bruno!

Honestly, Mold Breaker itself was pretty much useless all the time! For reference- Mold Breaker allows the use of moves despite abilities.

Basically, if a Pokemon has Levitate and you have Mold Breaker, you can hit Earthquakes and other Ground Type Moves.

That's about as far as it goes for use!

First of all, Pokemon that have Levitate are more often than not Ghosts… Or Rotom! But you wouldn't send an Electric Type into an Electric Type even if it has Levitate in the first place.

Secondly, most people try to get Type Advantage so you'll be seeing Ground Types against Ampharos, and Mold Breaker doesn't let Electric Types hit Ground Types suddenly, so it still doesn't have a use.

This is just a dogshit ability that no Pokemon should be cursed to have, it's really a shame it even exists.

The only use Ace could see is if someone sent in a Rotom against a Gyrados that Mega Evolved and used Earthquake. But even then, who in their right minds would send a Rotom in any form into a Gyrados.

Take another step back, you don't switch out when you see a Mega Evolution?????

Buddy, go back and play some more games, the competitive scene isn't for you, okay?

Another scenario is that you have a Haunter or Weezing with Levitate. Earthquake is a killer for them, but as soon as you show off Mold Breaker and use Earthquake, the opponent laughs so hard they cry as they click Destiny Bond.

The final point!

Ampharos can't learn Earthquake!

So rounding up, Mold Breaker is useless.

But Quark Drive on the other hand… Yes, it's laborious in the Games, but it's quite good in real life. Mainly because if you're fast enough, you can set up Electric Terrain and get the Stat boost before the enemy can react.

He didn't know exactly if the boost disappeared when the Electric Terrain was gone or not, but at that point, the battle would either be over or Ampharos would be out of the fight.

So, in this way, Quark Drive was useful in certain scenarios. Though Ace still wasn't happy with this ability being copy pasted on the Paradox Pokemon. It was lazy and cheap, some of them didn't benefit at all!

For example; Walking Wake is a Water Type Pokemon, to activate Photosynthesis, it must use Sunny Day.

… Okay, no problem bro! Let me one shot you with an insta-charge Solar Beam! Bye bye, Walking Wake! I hope the 30% boost in Special Attack was worth it!

Of course… You would switch out when you saw a Grass type appear, but then you're still useless, okay!?

Ace was standing in Lumiose Tower, listening to a seminar with his arms crossed. He nearly fell asleep!

As the old man was chattering endlessly, Cynthia walked over, whispering, "Ace!" Ace looked over and Cynthia smiled, waving to the side, "This is Diantha, the Champion of the Kalos Region." Ace looked at the pretty woman and said "Oh…" before noticing something behind her.

Ace's eyes lit up and Cynthia paused, "Oh?" Diantha blinked as Ace walked past her, "Yeah, yeah, Nice to meet you or whatever. Cynthia, don't introduce me to these useless people in the future, okay?"

Cynthia was startled and Diantha froze.

'Useless?!'

Diantha frowned and said coldly, "What does that mean?!" Cynthia looked troubled and Ace ignored her, walking up to a man in a straw hat. He stopped in front of him as the man looked up from his Steamed Bun Baskets.

Ace's eyes blazed with flames, "You're Bruno, right?!" Bruno looked at him strangely, "What do you want, kid?" Ace said directly, "Fight me!" Bruno waved, "Not interested."

Ace chuckled and the next second, Bruno was holding Ace's fist an inch from his face.

Bruno frowned at Ace, who grinned, "Not with Pokemon!" Bruno's eyes lit up slightly, "Hey hey… Looks like this trip's finally getting fun! Come on." as he stood up, walking out of the building.

Ace followed him quickly as Cynthia followed after him with Diantha, looking at her apologetically, "Sorry, Diantha…" Diantha snorted angrily, "Who is this jerk?!" Cynthia apologized, "He's my friend. He's quite strong, I thought I'd introduce you since we might be colleagues in the future…"

Diantha sneered, "A future Champion? It's a joke, right?" Cynthia frowned slightly, "He was rude, but he's a strong trainer!" Diantha stopped talking because Cynthia was getting a little upset, but she really didn't believe it.

After all, this guy called her useless!

They came to the side of the Tower, seeing Ace and Bruno standing across from each other.

Ace turned to Mareep and said, "Noivern, protect Mareep on the side, okay?" Noivern grew to his original size and let Mareep lay on his back as he crawled to the side. Cynthia walked over and rubbed Noivern's ears, making him growl happily.

Bruno looked at Noivern and nodded with a smile, "Well bred!" Ace waved his arms and grinned, "We can be pretentious later! You need a warm-up, old man?" Bruno chuckled and crouched, bouncing on his feet, "Nah."

As he disappeared!

Ace stepped back and raised his arm, blocking a kick to his head!

Bruno grinned at him before jumping back as Ace's foot was up now!

Cynthia and Diantha only saw these poses, none of the movements! Byron walked out and yawned before looking over with interest, standing next to Noivern and watching as Cynthia nodded at him. He smiled and asked, "How long has it been?"

Cynthia smiled, "Just started." Byron rubbed his palms, "Great! Come on out, everyone." he released all the Pokemon he brought with him.

Cynthia looked at one of them in confusion, "What is this?" Byron smiled and shrugged, "I don't know! Me and Bisharp ran into a pack of Bisharp and Pawniard the other day, after a hard fight Bisharp evolved!"

Kingambit looked at Cynthia and nodded coldly, "Kingambit!" Cynthia smiled and waved, "Kingambit?" Kingambit nodded coldly, turning back to the fight. Byron chuckled and patted his back, "He's just cold, not on purpose." Cynthia waved with a smile, "Don't worry about it."

Diantha felt ignored and she frowned.

Ace and Bruno finally started for real!

Ace flashed and punched forward while Bruno tilted his head, shooting his foot over! Ace caught his ankle but Bruno twisted and kicked at his head again, forcing Ace to push him away and back off.

Bruno nodded and shot off the ground, Ace flickered and they collided fists before punching again!

Dozens of loud bangs later, they separated.

Ace blew on his fists and shook them, this old man's fists are like steel! He whipped his arms to the side as they turned black. Bruno looked with interest before clenching his own fists as they seemed to harden.

Ace's eyes lit up and he made a pose with his arms up. Bruno flickered and punched forward as Ace caught his fist, pulling as he uppercut Bruno in the chin, taking a foot to the chin himself!

They separated and Ace wiped his lips, "Nice counter, old man!" Bruno chuckled and licked the blood from his nose, nodding.

They disappeared again as Ace ducked under a kick, pressing on the ground and twisting out, kicking Bruno, who held his arms out, moving them to block Ace's feet repeatedly!

Ace tucked his feet in before pressing off the ground, stomping out with his feet! Bruno slapped his feet to the side and kicked out as Ace blocked with his arms, flipping backwards to his feet.

He stepped back a few times and Bruno appeared in front of him again, staying low as he threw an uppercut. Ace twisted and smashed his elbow in Bruno's face, shooting his knee up, knocking him in the chest.

Bruno stepped back as Ace flew over, slamming his heel down from above as Bruno crossed his arms above him.

Ace and Bruno were revealed to the audience in this state.

Ace had blood all over his face and Bruno grinned with teeth covered in blood. He pushed Ace off and jumped off the ground, smashing down his fists like hammers. Ace twisted his body but still got hit, shooting into the ground!

He rolled out of it, spitting out some blood before flickering back as slapping sounds echoed.

Ace caught all of Bruno's fists while jumping back quickly. He stopped on a backstep and stepped forward, slamming an elbow in Bruno's chest, only to be caught and countered with a kick to the face!

Ace rolled back into a tree, wiping his face with his shirt.

Damn! This old man is tough!

He got up and tilted his head, dodging a fist. Ace punched Bruno's gut being blocked again, but this time Ace punched Bruno in the face like lightning!

Bruno was confused and muttered, "Predicted?" He looked at Ace, who grinned with bloody teeth. Bruno chuckled and held out his hands, provoking Ace, who narrowed his eyes.

Taunting me?

It works!

He kicked off the ground and appeared in front of Bruno instantly!

Cynthia's eyes showed surprise, that was… Shave?!

Ace clenched his fist, shooting it forward like a bullet as Bruno tilted his head, getting a cut on his cheek! He threw an uppercut and there seemed to be sparks as Ace's head shot back!

Bruno raised his brows as Ace turned his head back, smiling. 

Alarm bells went off as Ace locked his arm around Bruno, passing by him while holding his neck. He jumped and flipped Bruno over, slamming him into the ground!

The impact shook the ground and kicked up a cloud of dust!

Ace jumped out of the dust as Bruno punched at him, blowing a current of air, parting the dust!

Ace let out a breath and kicked out violently! Bruno rolled to the side and looked back as the trees were severed in half, falling to the ground. He turned back with sparkling eyes, "Good boy! Amazing!"

Ace blinked as Bruno clenched his fists, grinning before punching out!

Ace's eyes widened as he felt like he was hit with a ton of bricks! He flew out and snapped a tree behind him with a fierce wind that rustled the leaves directly!

Ace stood up and rubbed his chest, "What was that?!" Bruno laughed happily and replied kindly, "Same principle as that kick just now." Ace was awed, "You're awesome, old man! This is my strongest move so far!"

Bruno paused and got serious as Ace appeared in front of him with his fists out, "Six King Gun!" Bruno froze as a serious blast of pressure blew right through him, rattling his insides!

He was dumbfounded and coughed up blood, wiping his lips, "Creating a Shockwave from your Knuckles… Good move but…" He grinned, "It must hurt, right?" Ace's arms trembled and he wiped his sweat, "Not that much." as he forced a grin.

Bruno chuckled and punched out as Ace tilted his head, shooting his foot up, catching Bruno in the chin, but Bruno took the blow and grinned, hooking his arm around Ace's neck and pulling!

He crashed his elbow down on Ace's back and planted him into the ground before kicking him flying!

Ace flew in the air and flipped around, kicking behind him as he jumped back in the air! Bruno's eyes marveled and he laughed, clenching his fists and narrowing his eyes.

Ace flickered in the air and appeared on the ground, crouched. Bruno's eyes tracked him instantly as Ace jumped up, shooting up a knee!

Bruno leaned back but his chin was clipped, making him dazed for a few seconds. Ace raised his leg up with his arms behind his back, slamming his heel down and sending Bruno into the ground!

Bruno pressed on the ground at the last second and spun, kicking out and knocking on Ace's chest with his heel! He turned and pushed off, flipping over and slamming his heel down as Ace twisted in the air, swinging his leg back, meeting Bruno's heel.

They bounced off and landed on the ground as Bruno exploded off the ground, punching forward harshly, a loud scream echoing from his fist as Ace grit his teeth, throwing a punch back.

Bruno's fist was harder than steel and sent Ace tumbling back. He flipped to his feet and stepped back a dozen steps, holding his arm. Bruno let out a breath and waved, "Alright. Enough."

Ace frowned and Bruno chuckled, "Anymore and you'll really hurt yourself. Not to mention me, that Six King Gun is no joke!" Ace sighed and Bruno walked over, grinning, "You're not bad, kid." Ace shook his hand and chuckled, "You're pretty strong for an old man."
