54 Chapter 53 : News of Pokemon Tide!

Sabrina was confused. Though every city and town would face Pokemon Tides, the Tides would generally happen after a particular time period. Big cities like Saffron generally only experienced it once a decade. At times, there might be a couple of decades between successive raids. On the other hand, smaller towns and villages experienced Tides a bit more frequently. Considering how early the Tide had formed, Sabrina was very suspicious.

She muttered, "It looks like that group is involved. Call all the instructors for a meeting, Gardevoir and Alakazam. Also, call the head of the Dojo and Silph Co. along with Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy."

Gardevoir and Alakazam nodded and teleported away. Sabrina teleported into her office as well. She grabbed her phone and called a number.

In a couple of seconds, the phone was answered. A voice was heard, "Gym Leader Sabrina. You have called the Special Emergency hotline. Can I know what is the matter?"

Sabrina replied, "Inform Lance and the Elite Four that Saffron City will soon face a Pokemon Tide. The strength of the Tide is unknown. I'll update the League about the details on the Tide in a couple of days. We will require assistance."

The eyes of the person at the other end widened. He immediately responded, "Noted. I'll inform them at the earliest."

Sabrina cut the call and teleported into the meeting room. By then, instructors in the Gym had already teleported in and taken their seats. Sabrina sat at the head of the table. Within a couple of minutes, Gardevoir and Alakazam teleported the remaining 4 people into the meeting room and teleported behind Sabrina.

Everyone had gathered and looked at Sabrina. Seeing her serious expression, everyone realized that something major had happened. Nurse Joy asked in a concerned voice, "What's the matter, Gym Leader Sabrina?"

Sabrina took a deep breath before answering, "A Pokemon Tide is forming. It is still in its early days and might take a few days to form properly, but Saffron City will have to endure a Pokemon Tide very soon."

The eyes of every person in the room widened. Their expressions became very grim. Damian Silph, the president of the Silph Co. asked in a grim tone, "So soon? Shouldn't we have at least 3 more years before the next tide?"

Sabrina didn't answer. Her silence itself answered his question. Officer Jenny cursed, "It must be those damn terrorists again! To think that they can force a Pokemon Tide to happen so many years in advance. The League needs to eliminate them quickly. Otherwise, there is no telling how many cities will suffer due to their atrocities!"

Everyone else solemnly agreed. Eliza, the second in command in Saffron City said, "They need to be hunted, but now is not the time to be focused on them. Our focus has to be on stopping this tied with minimal losses while watching out for any other schemes they might be plotting to take advantage of the situation. Lady Sabrina, do you know the size of the tide and the composition of Pokemons that formed it?"

Sabrina answered, "No, I sensed it just a few minutes back. I'll dispatch my Pokemons to scout and take out some leaders after this meeting. While I do that, I need you guys to start preparing for the war. The city will be put under a lockdown.

Deploy our armies. Conscript every Trainer over the age of 15 years into our armies. Place younger and disabled trainers as the backups in case our armies mess up. I have informed the League as well. We will get as much aid as we can receive from them as well."

Everyone in the room nodded. They were Elite Trainers and extremely experienced having gone through and survived multiple Pokemon Tides. They knew what the protocols were for such situations.

Eliza said, "Alright. You can leave the preparations to me, Lady Sabrina."

Sabrina nodded and said, "This meeting ends here. We will have another meeting in two days. I'll find out more about the tide while you guys prepare the armies."

Everyone nodded and quickly left. Knowing the severity of the matter, no one had any time to waste.

Nurse Joy entered the Pokemon Center and immediately made calls to the Joy family, asking for some reinforcements so that the Pokemon Center could handle the extreme number of injured Pokemons they would need to heal during the Tide.

Similarly, Officer Jenny called the Jenny family and asked for assistance to ensure that the rules were followed during the Tide and the city didn't fall into anarchy.

The Master of the Dojo and the President of Silph Co. rallied the trainers under them and ensured that they were ready for a battle. Damian increased the security of the Silph Co. building while asking the Elite Trainers under him to assist Eliza. As for the Dojo, most Trainers were excited to participate in a war.

The one who had the most important task was Eliza. As the second-in-command, she was the General of all the forces in Saffron City and was only outranked by Sabrina, the Gym Leader. She met with her subordinates in the army. Within minutes, the entire city was placed under a lockdown. As for what a lockdown meant?

Every Trainer who entered into Saffron City had to register themselves while entering. They also had to do the same while leaving the city. It was a rule common to all the cities and towns in the regions that were governed by the Pokemon League.

If someone snuck into the city without doing so, they wouldn't be able to use important facilities like Pokemon Center and Poke Mart! Companies like Silph Co. didn't provide their services to such people either. Had Orion not been young and a trainee in the Gym, he wouldn't have been able to use those facilities either.

These rules ensured that the city was aware of every Trainer who was present in the city. In case the city ever faced danger, every League-registered Trainer would have to lend a hand. No one was allowed to desert. If they did, then the consequences were extremely heavy and usually far worse than death! Once the lockdown was initiated, no Pokemon Trainer could leave the city or refuse summons without being labelled a 'deserter'.

After initiating the lockdown, Eliza dispatched the instructors to call back the armies that were roaming outside the city to eliminate any wild Pokemons that came close to the city borders. They were the reason why Orion found so few Pokemons near the city and had to travel quite some distance to fight wild Pokemons.

While the instructors did their assigned job, Eliza dispatched her subordinates. They began summoning every Pokemon Trainer who was a part of the official army in Saffron City. They were in charge of properly deploying the armies to protect the city.

While the preparation was taking place, loud sounds of bells rang through the entire city, successfully getting everyone's attention. As people heard the sound of the bells, their eyes widened.

Orion, who was training his Pokemons in the Gym, heard the bells as well. His eyes widened as he cursed, "Shit! A fucking Pokemon Tide!"
