Chapter 123 - Indigo League; Cynthia vs Paul [Part 2]

"Weavile use Dark Pulse" A ball of purple rings of energy appears in front of Weavile's mouth. He then fired a beam of purple rings of energy at the Milotic from the ball.

"Counter it with an Ice beam." A light blue ball formed in front of Milotic's mouth. Then, multiple light blue or white beams were fired at the purple rings of energy.

Both of their attacks collided in the center of the battlefield.

Boom!

The explosion created a 10 meters deep crater in the center of the battlefield. Both Cynthia and Paul continued their battle without any care from the world.

"Weavile quick attack."

Weavile to charge at Milotic at a very fast speed. Cynthia seeing this ordered Milotic to use a double team.

Again the entire battleground was filled with hundreds of Milotic which made it very difficult for Weavile and Paul to find the real one.

Weavile had no choice but to stop, looking confused. Paul felt Cynthia was trying to lure Weavile into her trap. He didn't like the situation. Especially a situation where the unpredictable can happen without him even knowing about it.

"Weavile Icy Wind" Weavile took a deep breath and then blew cold wind blizzard which destroyed all the double teams of Milotic. Soon Weavile and Paul spotted Milotic standing right in front of Cynthia.

"There you are! Weavile uses the quick attack to increase your speed and then use slash." Weavile disappeared from his place at a very fast speed.

Milotic saw a flash of a black shadow approaching her at a very fast pace. Milotic panicked as she couldn't keep up with Weavile speed.

But Milotic's trainer had a different thought. Cynthia smirked as if she had won the battle and ordered Milotic. "Milotic use ice beam on the ground around yourself." Paul widened his eyes after realizing what Cynthia was trying to do.

Under his gaze, Milotic made a layer of ice on the ground around her.

Before Paul could tell his Weavile to stop, his Pokemon already had fallen into Cynthia's trap. The slippery ice caused Weavile to fall right in front of Milotic.

"Milotic use dragon tail"

"Weavile use quick attack to ESC... Boom!" Paul couldn't even finish talking as he saw Weavile was sent flying.

Bang!

Weavile fell on the ground 23 meters away from Milotic with blood coming out of his mouth. The dragon tail had directly hit Weavile's chest and rib area.

Weavile felt unbearable pain in his stomach and chest areas. He felt the pain could stop his heartbeat anytime. Some of Weavile's ribs had shattered and while others had cracked which made things even more difficult for Weavile.

Weavile struggled to stand up. Weavile wanted to give up as the pain and the broken ribs made it extremely difficult for him to stand up.

But Weavile had to remember who his trainer was. When he remembers the terrible treatment that Paul will give him if he loses, Weavile had no choice but to stand even though his legs and hands were shaking as blood kept leaking from his mouth.

"Time to end this, Hydro Pump" Milotic fired a straight strong beam of water more than 2 meters thick in size towards Weavile.

Seeing could only widen his eyes as the water blast hit even without wasting any second.

Boom!

Weavile!

When the water blast hit Weavile, he felt like he has been hit by a truck. The force from the attack sent Weavile flying directly to the other side of the battlefield.

Boom!

"Weavile has lost his consciousness. Weavile is unable to battle." With the referee declaring that Weavile is unable to battle, the whole stadium went mad with cheers and chants for Cynthia.

[This is Paul's first defeat in the Indigo League. The two Pokémon fought hard but one small mistake from Paul's side and a golden opportunity from Cynthia's side changed the whole tide of this battle.]

[Things might go very differently if Weavile hadn't fallen for because of the ice layer Ice that Cynthia cleverly ordered Milotic to make. It was a genius move from Cynthia with perfect timing and precision.] The never-changing frowning and stern-looking expression on Paul's face still didn't change as he watched his Pokemon treated by the emergency team.

Paul calmly took out second Pokémon.

Drapion!!

[It's Drapion. Drapion is a Poison and Dark-type Pokémon. Drapion is known as the Ogre Scorp Pokémon.]

Drapion is a purple, scorpion-like Pokémon. Its body is segmented and it stands on four pointed legs. It has two large claws at the front, the tips of which release poison, and a similar large pincer on its tail. It can rotate its head 180 degrees. Drapion typically resides in the desert, although they have been spotted in marshland.

[Although Drapion evolves from a Bug-type, it does not retain its original dual typing after evolution; but gains Dark as its secondary type.]

[Poison is super effective against Water-type. I am afraid Paul has a type advantage against Milotic which will give Cynthia a difficult and disadvantageous situation.]

"Battle begins" With the referee's signal Paul and Cynthia restarted the battle with full energy.

"Drapion uses Pin Missile" Drapion's claws glow white and are raised above its head, where a thin, white line forms and connects them. Drapion thrusts its claws forward and shoots white streams of pins at the Milotic.

"Counter them with Hydro Pump."

Boom!

Milotic countered with a Hydro pump and managed to destroy the attack before those pin Missile could reach Milotic.

[Milotic is feeling the pressure of fighting a higher-level Pokémon. Milotic level is 38 while Drapion is level 40 Pokémon. So Cynthia and Milotic are fighting an opponent who not only has a type advantage but also has an advantage in terms of level.]

"Milotic use Mist." Milotic eyes glowed in blue light as the fog started to spread from around the whole battleground, blocking the view of everyone.

"Milotic now uses double team." Everyone was left confused and curious about what Cynthia was doing.

"Drapion be careful. Prepare to use Pin Missile any time." Drops of sweat began to roll down his neck. Paul was feeling nervous and a little anxious. In this situation, Paul couldn't see his enemies or know from which direction the attack is going to come.

Seeing that the entire situation was under her control Cynthia smirked knowing that she had won the second round.

"Now use Ice beam"

Hearing Cynthia's voice, Paul's face turned pale as he could see where things were going.

The ice beam came from every direction, confusing Drapion. Drapion couldn't find the difference between fake and real.

Boom!

Drapion's full body was covered in Ice.

"Drapion!! Break the ice quickly." Paul sounded more and more nervous and anxious at this point.

The whole stadium turned silent only the voice of Cynthia, Paul, and their Pokémons attacking sound could be heard.

"Too late, now use dragon tail." Everyone was blinded because of the thick mist. A second or two later after Cynthia's attack, everyone heard a loud boom sound.

Boom!

The mist suddenly dispersed as Drapion was seen flying and crushing the ground.

Even after getting hit with back-to-back two attacks from Milotic, Drapion didn't look seriously injured or anything.

Drapion didn't even waste more than 2 seconds standing up.

'Fortunately, Drapion is not seriously injured. I can't continue things in this way. I am afraid Cynthia will use this same technique on Drapion and I would have no choice but to watch Drapion get beaten without doing anything. I have to switch my Pokémon.'

"Drapion return"

[Paul has chosen to recall his Pokémon.]

[I would say Paul has made the right choice. Paul didn't have any move that could counter the Milotic Mist and double team attack. Even though Drapion wasn't seriously injured but if Cynthia continues to use that same tactic a few more times then she would be able to Defeat Drapion.]

Aggron is best described as a monster. It bears a dark gray dragon-like appearance with iron plates over its entire body, horns over its eyes, and claws; this Pokémon was built for battle. Some say that it looks partially like a castle wall.

[Aggron is a Steel and Rock-type Pokémon. Aggron claims an entire mountain as its territory. It mercilessly beats up anything that violates its environment. This Pokémon vigilantly patrols its territory at all times.]
