Reward and Punishment (Edited)

Axel was having a happy conversation with Oak. He must say that he enjoyed his talk with Oak. It was both knowledgeable and hilarious. Oak had his way with words. As they were talking to each other, Axel got a notification from the system

"Oh fuck!!!" shouted Axel and ran toward the training field where Bulbasaur was. 'Extend the evolution' shouted Axel in his mind to the system.

'Then forcefully stop the evolution' said Axel

They had already reached the gate of the training field by this time. Oak was also following Axel as he saw Axel in a very nervous state. Just as they opened the gate,

Oak and Axel saw the evolution light of Bulbasaur.

"Is Bulbasaur evolving? How did you know?", asked Oak.

But Axel didn't have the time to come up with a made-up story right now. After some seconds the evolution light of Bulbasaur stopped and both of them saw Bulbasaur standing confused.

"Did your Bulbasaur forcefully stop the evolution? I have never heard or seen a Pokemon stopping its first evolution. I have seen Pokemon stopping their final evolution but not the first when Bulbasaur still has the final evolution of Venusaur." Said Oak.

'Dang it!!' shouted Axel internally.

He had been in this situation before when Weedle was evolving. Axel was not in close proximity and the system gave him 1 reward and 3 punishments.

From what Axel could gather, he could extend the evolution process due to the system but he had to be there to witness it. He hoped that the punishment this time was not so severe.

'Tell me the punishments first.', said Axel

Axel didn't know when he woke up but he could not see. He could feel that he was in a bed and by the smell of the medicines around him, he was certain that he was in a hospital but he could not see.

Axel tried to open his system. It was a relief that he could at least see the system and use it but not anything else.

"Axel you woke up. We were scar... What Happened to your eyes?!!!!", shouted Oak.

Axel had blue eyes but now it was white,, pure white. It was not like his eye color changed but like it was sealed. Oak could not comprehend what had happened.

"I don't know Oak. But I cannot see. What has happened to me?", said Axel. A

xel could not tell that it was due to the system and he could not come up with a reasonable explanation. So he played the 'dont know anything' card.

After the short conversation, 3 hours were spent in continuous check-up of Axel's abnormality. But nothing came up. It test showed as if Axel had been blind since his birth. This was intriguing.

That day, none of Axel's Pokemon did their training. Everyone was surrounding Axel. But Axel had not even told his Pokemon about his system. So, he chose to remain silent.

"I feel that this thing is temporary. I don't know why I feel it but my gut tells me that it is temporary.", said Axel.

"If you are so sure about your instinct then I would suggest you believe it. I don't have any ways to heal your eyes for now. I apologize.", said Oak.

Oak was feeling really sorry about it. Being blind for the rest of his life would severely limit Axel's potential. But Axel knew that it would only be for a month.

He could train his Pokemon as usual cause he didn't need to interfere in their training at every step. After losing with Oak's Pokemon repeatedly, all of his Pokemons have become diligent in their routine. But Axel had planned to train his body this coming month which he could not do.

He had read many light novels where the protagonist would train their body in new martial arts and even improve when they go blind. But Axel was not stupid enough to attempt that. This was not a Chinese light novel and he didn't want to get accidentally hurt. But he didn't want to waste this 1 month.

Sure, it was his mistake that the system gave him punishment but he still wanted to utilize this 1 month to the fullest. But he could not read, or experiment on research or even train his body. So what could he do?

After thinking for the whole night, Axel came up with a solution. The solution was so obvious. It was to train his Aura.

Yes, his Aura. Axel was neglecting his Aura training for quite some time now. He just didn't have the time and the patience for it. Right now, Axel could only use Aura sense and Aura resistance. There are many training phases in Aura. One of the most basic and important ways is to meditate. So, Axel decided that he would use this 1 month in meditation.
