Gym Battle: Prelude (Edited)

They talked for 15 minutes until Adam said, "You have really hit a gold mine by becoming Oak's disciple and you have trained your Pokemons very well. I don't know how Shedinja could learn such moves however, it is a good thing. But I still think you may not win this fight.", said Adam.

"Really? She is that pissed huh?"

"Yes, let me tell you how it went. Our family focuses on versatility, not typings. But the world doesn't see us like that. Venusaur is a poison and grass type Pokemon. As per the laws set for the 3 families, only those gyms of such typings could be controlled. This was done cause we have many resources on those typings and we are experts on those typings.

The gym focuses on typings. So, we could either take over Celadon Gym with grass typing or Fuchsia Gym with poison typing. Taking over Koga's gym is not possible. He is very powerful and has many connections with the league.

So, only Renee was left. Renee is a soft woman with good gym qualities. She normally does not go all out when fighting trainers. But the situation would be different for you.

Though she could only use rare-ranked Pokemons for this fight, she would go all out. Even if your Pokemons are going to reach elemental rank you may not win the fight. So make all the preparation you would need. And even if you lose, challenge her again after a month."

"Don't worry. I will not give up. So, can you tell me about Renee's Pokemon?", asked Axel.

"Of course, I like your thinking. You are growing well. She would use Exeggutor, Vileplume, and Venusaur against you and in that order. The reason I know about this is cause of the information I have about her. Those 3 are the most powerful Pokemon in her arsenal in rare ranked category.

I don't know much about her battle tactics, but I can tell you this, her Venusaur is very strong. It has many versatile moves.", said Adam.

Saying it Adam talked a bit and then hung up the phone.

After hanging up the call, the first thing Axel did was call Oak and tell Renee that he would fight her tomorrow. This was done for many reasons.

First, if he canceled the fight by himself, it would take him a long time to get another chance as gym leaders were also busy people. So telling Oak to do it was a good decision. Second, He would need some time to make battle plans and it was already 7 am now.

Thinking that he would win easily, he had not made any good plans, and that needed to change.

Axel started to make his battle plans with the team. He could only be using Marcus, Nidorino, and Beedrill. Other Pokemons in his team had not reached rare rank.

He wanted the team to feel relaxed before the fight, so there was no hardcore training for today. He just discussed his battle plans with the team and hoped well for tomorrow.

Next day,

A young man stood facing the grass gym. The most noticeable thing about the young man was his silver hair but he also had piercing eyes. The young man was Axel Blaze.

Axel was ready for the gym battle. Adam had made him scared but he knew that he was more than prepared to face 3 rare ranked Pokemons.

Experience was not something that could be gained in a day, so he knew that he could not beat Renee, at least in the experience department.

But he knew that his Pokemon would be more powerful than Renee's Pokemon, especially, Marcus. It would be his trump card.

Taking a single deep breath, he opened the main door of the grass gym. Just as he entered, he was greeted by a beautiful receptionist.

"Hello, Axel Blaze. My name is Meena. Mrs. Renee has told me about you. Please follow me.", she said and started to walk.

Axel followed and reached a small room with sofas and tables in it. There was another boy of his age in the room. Axel was served tea and cookies.

"Please note that the arena is being prepared and may take around 15 minutes to be prepared. The contestants are requested to patiently wait for their turn.", said Meena going out of the room.

The boy next to him seemed to be a silent type of guy. Axel also didn't bother to disturb him. He had his own problems now. After 15 minutes the boy was called and now Axel was all alone.

And…..

After waiting for like an hour, Meena entered the room and told Axel to follow her again. This time he was led to a big door and was told,

"Please continue. I cannot walk past from here. After exiting the door, you would enter the battleground where Renee would be waiting for you.", said Meena pointing at the black door.

Axel took those steps and opened the door.
