86 Generous rewards (Edited)

It has been 2 hours since Axel had caught Bulbasaur in his Pokeball. Now, Axel was in the training field and Bulbasaur was just getting familiar with its new friends.

Charmeleon was acting arrogant like always showing what it can do. But the innocent Bulbasaur had stars in its eyes. It thought Charmeleon was so cool and powerful.

Nidorino was friendly and Shedinja was like an adult or boss of the team. As for Gogoat, It just said hello, and kept quiet.

Bulbasaur was a very curious Pokemon. Since it had spent all of its time in a small area of the forest, it was excited about anything. It would look around the field, the houses, and restaurants and jump in joy.

Bulbasaur was 3 months old now. That means it was born on the day Axel came to the Venu family. Somehow, it seemed like their meeting was fate. Axel was extremely glad to have such a cute Pokemon. But its stats said otherwise.

Bulbasaur was a tank. Its defense and sp. defense was high. It had higher health at this stage. It had learned all of the primary moves like 'Razor leaf', 'Vine whip', and 'Tackle'. It also had learned 'Substitute' which added its tank powers. As for poison-type attacks, it had only learned 'Sludge'.

But this was more than enough for a wild, 3 months old Pokemon. It seemed like it wanted to be a tank. That is what Axel had thought for Bulbasaur.

Today was the day, 2 league representatives would visit Axel and Mark for their rewards.

There was a middle-aged woman wearing a formal dress sitting on a chair. On the other side of the chair was another chair which was seated by Axel.

Mark was in another room with another representative.

The league representative introduced herself as Heena. She looked like she was in her 30s though Axel didn't inquire about it. A man's salary and a woman's age should never be asked. His mother had taught him that.

Heena had a trademark smile on her face. It looked like she had practiced this smile for so many years that it almost looked natural now.

"Mr. Axel Blaze, the league is happy with your contribution. Since you are only 13 years old, your achievement is highly graded. The rewards you would receive would be much better than normal rewards. The league is doing this to motivate you in your further research."

"I would like to thank the league for this generosity."

"Ok then, let me tell you about your rewards. Do remember that it is non-negotiable. The league had prepared 4 rewards for you. Your first reward would be Pokedollars. The league would reward you with 50 billion Pokedollars."

Axel had a surprised look on his face when he heard it. It also pained him as 70% of it would not be his.

"Yeah, even I was shocked by this amount. The maximum cash reward for any new research is 10 billion Pokedollars until now. It seemed like the league has high expectations from you."

Heena continued, "As for the resources, the league would give you 1 lucky egg, 1 life orb, 2 elemental gems of poison type and ghost type, and a scope lens. The qualities of all these resources are the highest."

If Axel was shocked by the cash reward, his response to this reward could only be described as unbelievable. But he had just learned it from his previous mistake and didn't show it on his face.

"It seems like the league personally chose those rewards for me. I could use all of these rewards.", replied Axel.

"Yes, actually I was the one who chose those rewards for you. I am a huge fan of your work. Your research and imagination on the research could not be described in words.

The lucky egg would be for a new Pokemon at your party. I am sure you have some. The life orb would be for high attacks, the elemental gems are for Nidoran and Shedinja, and the Scope lens would be for Beedrill when it evolves.

Unfortunately, we could not know what other types of Pokemon you have now. The Venu family has been excellent at keeping your records hidden."

Axel didn't know that the Venu family was hiding his records. But they seemed to be doing a pretty good job. The league didn't even know that his Nidoran had evolved into Nidorino and was already a rare-ranked Pokemon. He guessed that they didn't even know that he had unlocked Aura, evolved his Weedle to Beedrill and caught a Bulbasaur.

But Axel was happy with it. It was better to keep his secret to himself. He was world-famous now. Powerful families, trainers, associations, and leagues of other regions would keep his track. He made a note to thank Angela later.

"Now, the third reward. It is one of your choosing. But it should only be up to Pseudo king rank. That means any items or resources could only be used for a Pokemon up to Pseudo King rank.

As for the last reward. The league grants you a wish of your own. Yeah, this reward surprised me too. It had never happened before. But your wish should not be unreasonable like wanting a Champion ranked Pokemon.

The 3rd and the last wish could be redeemed at any time. Your last wish would depend on your future and current contribution to the league. So please use it strategically."

"These are some valuable rewards. I am grateful for it. But, may I ask, why is the league being so generous to me?"

"There is no particular reason. You are a young successful researcher. And from what I have heard, a good trainer too. The league just wants you to represent itself on an international level when the time comes.

Prof. Oak was the one who decided this. It seems he is very fond of you."
