603 Flashback
Flashback,
"Where am I? It is so white in here.", said a white bulb of smoke. This was a human in a soul form.
There was nothing here except for the white background. The human could see nothing except for the whiteness all around.
"Did I die? This is the life after death?", the soul asked himself.
He tried to remember as much as he could. He could tell that he was a beautiful family. Even though his father was strict, he knew that his father loved him. His memories were very vague. He could not remember the specific details of his past life but he knew that he had somehow died.
But how did he die? He didn't know. He just could not remember. He knew that he had died and now he could not meet his family now but he didn't feel sad for it. That was very weird.
Suddenly a yellow blinding light covered the whole place and the white smoke could finally see something other than whiteness. It was an old man in a butler costume.
The man was around 6 feet tall, had clean shaven face, and well-trimmed hair, and was in a black suit.
The soul was shocked to see this person. This man had a complete body and the soul could feel that this butler-like human was not simple.
"Who are you and where am I?", asked the soul.
"You have just died and you are in your soul form. As for where you are, just say that you are in the middle of death and another life. The creator has trapped your soul here for a grander purpose."
"Grander purpose?"
"Yes, normally when a person dies, one of the 4 things would happen. If you have done good things in your life and you have committed no sins, you will be allowed to…."
"Go to heaven?"
"No, things like heaven don't exist in a true sense. You will be able to attain salvation in the truest form. You don't need to know more about it cause you are not in this category."
The soul felt that this old butler was making fun of him.
"Don't worry. Extremely few people would be able to achieve it. Now, if you have done some sins but the sins are not so high, you will face some punishment and then go through the cycle of reincarnation forgetting your previous lives.
If you die before you are meant to, then you will roam around your planet in a soul form. This is a type of punishment and you will be lonely. Trust me, you don't want that.
Finally, if you have committed sinful acts, sins that could not be redeemed by punishment, you will suffer eternally.", said the butler.
"So, which category am I?"
"You were in the second category but the creator stopped your soul from the cycle of reincarnation cause he has a mission for you.", said the butler.
"And if don't want to perform the mission?"
"Then you will go to the cycle of reincarnation, forgetting everything. So, do you want to hear the proposal?", said the butler.
The soul nodded its head.
"You will be able to go to one of the 2 universes. The first universe is the universe of magic and you will divulge into the magic of death and necromancy. Second is the universe of Pokemon. So, which universe do you want to choose?"
"Is the universe of Pokemon like the same universe in the anime?"
"The anime and the real universe are different in a lot of things but there are also similarities. It is just that the anime you watched was for the kids, so many things were taken out. This will be the real universe."
The soul thought for some time and made a decision to choose the Pokemon universe. This was the safest option. He didn't know anything about the other universe and the Pokemon universe was relatively safer than other universes.
"I will choose the Pokemon universe."
"Good. Now, before deciding on it, let me tell you what you will have to do there. Let me tell you the mission.
You will obviously grow stronger but there is an entity that is manipulating the gods of that universe. Don't worry, you don't have to defeat that entity. You just have to save Arceus and Ho-Oh from that manipulation and save yourself."
"What is that entity?"
"You don't need to know about it right now. That is a secret and since I don't know you much, I cannot trust you with that name. When you have become capable enough and trustful enough, you will naturally know about it.", said the butler.
"By the way, who are you?", said the soul.
"I am the system that would be helping you in this universe."
"Cool, so I get a system. what are the powers of it?"
"Well, except for knowing the stats of you and others, you will grow stronger at a faster rate and so will your Pokemons. There are other things too but you will have to explore it.
So, the question still stands, do you want to go to this world and accept the system? You can say no if you want."
"I want to go there.", said the soul with determination.
"Good."

"Let's call myself Axel Blaze. He has always been a hero for me.", said the soul with a smile.

"I remember. I finally remember. So, I had agreed huh.", said Axel to the system.

Yes Host. You have agreed and now you have to fulfill your mission.

"Can't I get all the powers of the system right now?", asked Axel.

Ding!
Negative host. Your body is not strong enough to hold so much power right now and as I have told you, everything has a price. Are you ready to pay all the price of all the powers right now? I suggest that you do not as you are not prepared for it.

"So, that means I still have the option to use all the powers of the system.

If the system believes that you will not die by it, then yes.

"Don't worry, I will not use it. I don't want to die."
"Hey, Axel. Who are you talking to?", asked Red.
"Don't worry, this is something personal. I will tell you later.", said Oak as he already knew what was happening. Oak knew about the system.
"So, Arceus and Ho-Oh have been compromised and we not only need to save them but also save ourselves from this entity."
"That is the gist of it. I only care for us humans but Gengar wants to save Arceus and Ho-Oh too. So, we came to an agreement that we will help each other out.", said Oak.
"By the way, there is something that you need to know about Marcus. Marcus could not tell you this as Arceus and others might be looking at it. But since we are here, I will just tell it to you.

Gengar then began to tell what sort of problem Shedinja would face in the future and what were the solutions. [A/N: This had been described in 'Story of Vetal']
Axel was shocked to hear such things. However, he believed that Shedinja would be able to do it. He trusted his knight.
"So, what should we do now? And how many times could you use this illusion move?", asked Axel.
"I can use it once in 2 months but I suggest that we don't use it so much. Arceus might get wary about us.", said Gengar with a sigh.
It was thousands of years old and it had seen how the Pokemon world had flourished with the leadership of Arceus but now it was being manipulated and they had to hide from it.
"We don't even know if Arceus and Ho-Oh are being manipulated.", said Gengar.
"No, it is for sure that they are being manipulated. Don't ask me how I know. Just know that I am sure of it. The question is how will we be able to achieve it.
From my perspective, I need to master this grand energy and also the other evolved version of this grand energy that the first Pokemon master failed to do. Only then could we be able to face this entity.", said Axel.
"That seems to be the only way. But remember Axel, you are still a kid and you don't have to shoulder all the responsibility by yourself. You have your family and friends.
This is one of the things that I did wrong when I rose to fame. I only cared about myself and my power. I didn't consider my family and friends and here I stand alone and it is very difficult doing this alone. Don't forget that.", said Oak.
"Axel, we will support you with everything that we can. The world is not ending tomorrow. We still have decades and decades of time. That means you still have a lot of time to train and become capable enough to deal with this thing. So, try to take it easy.", said Red.
"I don't know about other Pokemons that you have but I believe that your Shedinja will become very powerful in the coming future. Just treat it well. I believe, that I will become the most powerful Shedinja in the history of this world.", said Gengar.
Axel was starting to feel the pressure and he now realized why Oak had not said anything to him. He just wanted to live a good life and train with his Pokemons.
He never wanted to save the whole world. That was not something that he had in mind. But now it seemed like only he could do this.
"I need some time to think about it. That is a lot of information.", said Axel.
"It is okay. You take as much time as you want for this.", said Red with a smile. Red also knew that it was not an easy decision. This was one of the reasons why he left his dream to become the Pokemon master.
"Ok, let's end the meeting now. I will also meet with Marcus before going.", said Gengar, and then it cancelled the illusion.

After coming out of illusion, Axel just said that he needed some alone time and then he went to the forest. Gengar also went to meet with Shedinja. It had not seen its student for some time now.
Meanwhile Red and Oak were still sitting on the chair.
"Oak, what do you think? Do you think that Axel can take that responsibility and pressure? Do you think that he will agree to become this hero?", asked Red.
"I honestly don't know."
"Then why are you so calm about it?"
"Red, I can feel that Axel will bring a huge change in this world. He is different from you and I. He is extraordinarily talented and hard-working. He also has a family that he wants to protect. He has Pokemons that he wants to protect and this city that he wants to protect.
I believe that he will make the right decision and agree with the proposal of being this hero. Because there is no other person that could do it."
"I know that Axel is the most talented trainer we have seen in recent years but aren't there others like Cynthia and Stevens too? I just don't want Axel to take this responsibility.", said Red.
"You are right, there are others but I believe that Axel is the most suitable of them. They will help Axel in the time of need but Axel will be the one to take that mantle.", said Oak with a smile.
