99 Chapter 98 : Reaching Trovita Island

Thinking of alternative plans to stop Snorlax, they agree on trying to put it asleep. A massage by Ash's group does not appear effective, while James and Misty's methods make them fall asleep instead. Jessie gets an idea to use a Snorlax suit and pretend to be Snorlax's mother, but Team Rocket is sent blasting off from a Mega Kick. Now alone, Ash's group comes up with a plan to have Jigglypuff sing to it, though they need to find Jigglypuff first, and then, before anyone can fall asleep, catch it in a Poké Ball.

By chance, Ash and his friends find Ruby's staff asleep with their faces scribbled on. Surmising that Jigglypuff is nearby, they decide to build a stage for Jigglypuff, complete with colored markers and large signage. Just as Snorlax strips the second island and is heading towards them on the third, Jigglypuff shows up and begins to sing, while Ash and Pikachu manage to hold off sleeping long enough to land a Thunder on Snorlax and catch it in a Poké Ball. Once again, Jigglypuff uses its marker and the new colored markers to scribble on everyone's faces for falling asleep .

Later, as Ash and his friends leave the island, Ruby arrives to tell them that the islands stripped bare by Snorlax have since had new saplings growing. Ruby thanks them for their help by giving them a bag of candied grapefruit peels.

//Meanwhile with Gary//

Gary was very close to reach Trovita Island . They find that Trovita Island is surrounded by whirlpools and huge spiked rocks. Gary called out Blastoise so that he could avoid those whirlpools and huge spikes .

Reaching the island they find a girl playing with Seel while a young man was looking at them to ensure there safety .

While seeing a boat coming to the it attracted the attraction of both of them .

Young girl ran towards the girl and hugged Eva . Eva petted her head . Soon the young man also came wanted to say hello to Eva but stopped while looking at Gary . The young man went towards Gary and greeted " Hello champion Gary I am Gym leader of Trovita Island Rudy " Gary shook his hands and said " Hello "

The young girl also looked at Gary with stars in her eyes and said " Hello Champion my name is Mahri "

Gary shrugged her hair in response .

Rudy said " I heard that Gary is coming to Orange Islands I didn't believe that at first "

Gary just shrugged his shoulders and laughed

Rudy said " Let's not waste time in pleasantries and have a battle am I right "

Gary nodded with a smile .

Rudy schedules the three-round Gym battle for the next day as they had to prepare the field , and tells Gary to pick three Pokémon types they'll use to battle each other with .

Gary picked after a strong thought " Bug , Rock and I don't think third is needed "

Rudy looked at Gary with a stunned expression and laughed .

Girls after hearing Gary they chuckled they knew that Gary will forever remain the same . They then head down to the Gym to see Rudy's Pokémon working out by dancing to music as a way of improving their skills .

Gary was impressed by training methods of Rudy and praised him for that by saying " You are totally different from trainers I have encountered so far "

Rudy was very proud listening to the praise of Gary but soon had Cold water splashed on him

Gary continued " But you are like the easiest type of person to deal with "

Rudy now could barely smile and asked "How "

Gary smirked and said " Tomorrow I will show you "

Rudy nodded and very much looked forward to tomorrow's match .

The next morning, Gary and Rudy prepare to battle each other on top of one of the island's huge spikes. The spectators, including Girls and Mahri, watch from a hot-air balloon, while one of Rudy's friends provides commentary while riding a Pidgeot .

(The friend on Pidgeot will be named Geo to avoid confusion )

Geo " This battle is an official Orange gym battle where both trainers will fight each other with having 3 one-on-one pokemon battle and the trainer to win 2 times will be regarded as the winner . Start the match "

Rudy asked Gary " Which type for the first round "

Gary smirked and said " Bug "

Rudy nodded and called out Scyther " Go Scyther "

Gary also called out " Go Scizor "

Scizor looked at Scyther with contempt . Rudy was shocked by Scizor as he never had seen such pokemon in his life . Seeing his reaction Gary said " Scizor is evolved form of Scyther "

Hearing Gary's word Rudy was already under lot pressure .
