11 Pokémon Egg!

Red and Green wore standard summer clothes, such as shorts and a regular T-shirt. They were talking happily with one another as they scrolled down the boardwalk.

Galen had seen these two before from his memories since this was merely a town. Everyone had seen each other's faces, so how could he not recognize them?

He didn't say anything to the duo and quickly left the scene. However, Red discovered him, but Red didn't greet or stop him from leaving.

Galen didn't want to get involved with the main characters like that so easily. As far as he was concerned, these people would be fleeting memories during his journey.

Galen decided to head home, but he had started to go to the Floral shop. He wanted to plant and grow his own berries.

However, he was worried about the great number of Rattata in his area. They would probably sniff out his berries and wreak havoc on his garden.

Galen could only buy what he needed from a store to settle these matters. Once he arrived home, his siblings were once again sitting on the couch and watching television.

This time, they were watching tournaments and interviews with Master Ranked trainers. They greeted Galen and even wanted him to join them, but he had to take care of his Pokémon.

Galen arrived in the backyard soon after.

"Alright, it's the same routine as ever, so don't resist," Galen said as he took Magikarp out of the aquarium.

In the same fashion, Magikarp didn't resist and allowed Galen to do what was needed. He smiled because he could tell that this treatment was working.

Though just a little, he could see that Magikarp's complexion was vaguely recovering. Once this treatment was complete, Galen thought for a moment. Afterward, he decided to place the [Soothe Bell] around Magikarp.

'This will make it friendlier because everyone knows the attitude of a Gyarados.' Gyarados had a serious anger issue, but it was understandable.

It was almost as if it was taking out all of its resentment on those who looked down on it. Whether it be Pokémon or humans alike, by causing mass destruction, terror, and mayhem.

To Galen, this was the best decision he could make right now.

"Now I need to choose which of these three I want to keep for myself." Galen thought about Krabby, Shellder, and Staryu.

After some thinking, he decided that he wanted to keep Shellder for himself. Once Shellder evolved into a Cloyster, it would have access to every move it would have learned through leveling as a Shellder.

This method was the same for Staryu, it would take leveling to learn those moves. However, once it evolved, it could be taught all of its moves immediately.

The only downside was he needed to pay and use a machine to learn these moves. Galen would need to approach an exchange counter to get some Heart scales to make it happen.

The exchange for Heart scales was one hundred Pokédollars each. Most people weren't willing to pay so much, but there were always people coming to do so.

"Shellder isn't so good, but as a Cloyster it could fight well." It was strange, but Cloyster could levitate and fight on land.

This was never explained in the anime, comic, or games. He had watched it fight on television, and it did great in on-land combat.

Galen surmised that Cloyster's ability to float on land had something to do with Liquid oxygen. Not only did it allow it to float, but it also allowed it to breathe on land, and it was extremely cold to the point where it could leave a Pokémon or Human frostbitten.

As for where the Liquid oxygen was located, it was definitely in its shell. Liquid oxygen also took up less space than oxygen in its gas form—making it lighter and easier to carry around.

This probably played a role in Cloyster's typing as well, but this was only Galen's speculation as none of this was ever confirmed.

"Indeed, Liquid oxygen provides buoyancy, which is sufficient to float but on a relatively low magnetic-field level and strength. This could be why Cloyster was always seen floating at low altitudes."

Afterward, Galen decided to feed Shellder its personal species's candies. Furthermore, he fed Staryu some nutritious food. As for Krabby, it was in his storage, so it didn't need to eat as it was in a stasis-like state.

Galen went back to his room before shutting the door and checking his storage.

"A Low-Grade Egg Incubator?" This egg incubator looked like any egg incubator, but it was made out of some type of red metal.

Galen clicked the switch and a light came on at the top, indicating the incubation process had been activated.

"This is a fortunate sign-in item since this is likely an item I would only get at a Daycare or breeding center."

Galen couldn't be sure, but sign-in systems—from what he remembered only gave items related to the location.

Next, Galen scrolled through the Exclusive Pokéblock Guide Book. This book was thick and it was only volume one, which meant there were more volumes.

"This book shows basic, intermediate, and advanced Pokéblock methods." Galen also noticed that there was nothing but Generation One Pokémon in this book.

There were picture demonstrations of every Generation One Pokémon. They all had their own page to themselves, but they shared the same page with their evolutionary forms.

"It shows what Pokéblock and Poffins they like to eat." Galen was stunned because some of these Pokéblock concoction methods weren't known to the public.

This book was precious because of this since Pokéblocks helped improve aptitude. Anything that could help a Pokémon's aptitude was sought after.

"The start of the book shows what each type of Pokémon likes most before diving into a specific Pokémon's preference."

Galen knew he couldn't show this book to the public, or it would be questionable if he could keep it or not. There were secret concoction methods in this book that people didn't know about, it was simply a treasure.

"There was one key berry needed for each of these secret methods. For instance, water-type Pokemon would need to have a Passho Berry."

This berry originally was used to weaken the attack of one water-type move during battle. Once consumed, it would activate and weaken any water attack.

This example was the same for electric types—with them needing Wacan Berry as a key berry during the concoction process.

Galen sat at his desk and studied a few of these concoction methods for a while. Before he knew it, two hours had gone by.

"This is some amazing stuff, I definitely can't show this to anyone." Galen didn't even want to show his siblings this discovery, so he put the book into his storage.

This book even had the recipes for Pokéblocks that could improve the Pseudo Legendary Dragonite, the Legendary Birds, Mewtwo, and even Mew!

He had already memorized the most important concoction methods. Galen mainly studied the water type Pokémon portion since this was available to him.

Afterward, Galen was called for dinner.

The days went by swiftly as Galen continued to sign in until he finally reached the last day for this area. At this moment, Galen was waiting so he could sign in one last time at this location.

On the Fourth day of signing in, Galen received Five Exp. Candies XS, One Hasty Mint, Ten Bottles of MooMoo Milk, and Three Rainy Lure Modules.

On the Fifth day of signing in, Galen received Ten Magikarp Candies, Ten Krabby Candies, Ten Staryu Candies, and Ten Shellder Candies.

Now, he was finally on the last day for the South Sea. The rewards on the fourth and fifth were a bit disappointing, but it was better than nothing.

Galen was convinced that the things that he already had played a part. At least, it played a part in the rewards he would receive. Those Candies were a little too convenient and 'coincidental' for him.

The countdown finally reached zero and renewed, allowing Galen to sign in.

[Ding! Signing into the South Sea!]

[Congratulations, Host, you've received One Pokémon Egg!]

[Congratulations, Host, you've received TM-Chilling Water!]

"... ..."

Galen was silent for a moment, this time he had gotten two items. These items, of course, appeared in his inventory space.

Just looking at the designs on the egg, he already had an idea about what Pokémon it was.

Galen looked around before quickly leaving the boardwalk. There was no need for him to come to the location anymore. Besides going on that trip to Cinnabar Island and stocking up on antibiotics, there was no other reason.

Arriving home, Galen saw his sister and brother in the front room as usual.

They watched many battles—in which, Galen usually joined in watching after he came back from the docks and attended to Magikarp and feeding the other Pokémon.

Galen went to his room and sat at his desk before pulling out the egg. This egg wasn't at all small and was several times bigger than the average egg.

Galen immediately inspected it.
