Chapter 1 - Escape from the Forest!

It took a morning to get used to a body that was twenty years younger, and only then did Quinn finally accept the fact that he had crossed over.

Only six hours ago, he was a programmer who sold customized Pokémon he modified. He had just received a large order for customizing 300 Pokémon, and he was going to stay up late to modify these Pokémon. As a result, he had only customized one, and when he closed his eyes for just a moment, he had crossed over.

After tensing his body and watching a large Caterpie crawl over him, Quinn determined that he had crossed into the world of Pokémon.

As a fan of Pokémon and a lonely person, it is naturally a joy to be able to cross into a world you like- but the current situation makes Quinn unable to get excited at all.

Really! When other people cross over, they usually start in the big city with a nice family, and he crosses directly into an uninhabited forest in the mountains!

A few minutes ago, he had just run away from the Caterpie habitat, and now he ran through a dense bush right into a small enclosing of trees with a Beedrill inside!

As we all know, Pokémon such as Beedrill are irritable and have a very strong sense of territory. If someone roams into their territory, then they will almost always be attacked.

Looking at the Beedrill with a pair of angry red eyes in front of him, and two big and sharp poisonous needles shining with a terrifying cold light, Quinn could not help but swallow, thinking, 'If I get hit with those poisonous needles, my dreams of becoming a Pokémon trainer will be over, right?'

"Buzz!"

There was a peculiar buzzing sound coming from the Beedrill, and Quinn could guarantee that it was not a friendly greeting. Sure enough, in the next few seconds, the surrounding trees shook- and then, multiple pairs of similar ruby-like eyes appeared from the shadows.

As a true Joestar would, he faced them and valiantly... ran away.

Not long after, the sound of the thin wings of the Beedrill vibrating close behind him rang in his ears. While blindly running through the forest- a fork appeared in his sight, and Quinn suddenly felt like he was escaping from an ancient temple.

(E/N -- Didn't expect a temple run reference, but good on the author for slipping one in.)

"Puff!"

Feeling a sudden pain from his back, Quinn's attention was instantly pulled back from his messy thoughts.

Quinn had been hit by a Beedrill using Poison Sting!

'Is God is trying to kill me!?' Quinn thought angrily.

But at this moment, as if denying his accusation, a river suddenly appeared on the left. He almost started crying tears of joy when he saw it.

Without hesitating, he ran over and jumped in! Quinn was very fortunate that he had learned how to swim before crossing over.

As river water poured into his ears and nose, Quinn held his breath and suddenly felt a hard, scaly object- grabbing on to it his panic.

He opened his eyes and saw a fish with dull eyes and bright red scales all over his body.

'Oh wow! Isn't this a Magikarp?'

Suddenly being grabbed, the Magikarp began to struggle. Pressured and unsteady from the current, Quinn could not hold on tightly.

In the next few moments, Quinn cursed those who called Magikarp a useless Pokémon! His face was red after being hit again and again by the Magikarp. What's worse is that he still couldn't get out of the water.

All because he saw the group of Beedrill hovering just above the surface of the water, it was obvious that they did not intend to let him go that easily.

'I need to keep moving.'

Quinn held his breath and began to swim forward, following the current of the river. After swimming forward ten meters, he surfaced for a breath, and then dived down again- careful to avoid any sudden attacks from the Beedrill.

After a while, the group of Beedrill gave up and angrily flew back towards their nest. Quinn could finally come ashore.

After raising himself out of the water, Quinn took a look at himself in the river. And looking at the handsome face reflected on the water, Quinn estimated he was probably around 10 years old.

'As expected, I am already a handsome guy at the age of ten.'

Taking another look at himself, his clothes were completely soaked after all the chaos that just took place. He was wearing the clothes from before he had crossed. A white short-sleeve with a blue sports jacket, a pair of sweatpants, and a pair of blue running shoes.

Searching his surroundings he noticed that the leaves in the forest had started to turn yellow. Guessing, he thought, 'It should be early autumn...'

Finishing his search and noticing any immediate dangers nearby, Quinn took off his clothes and checked the wound given by the Beedrill.

Because of his clothing- or perhaps some grace of God, the translucent purple needle did not completely penetrate his body.

Using a leaf to pull out the poisonous needle, he found that the skin near the needle's tip had turned light purple with a faint burning sensation. He had been poisoned.

Quinn was now desperate.

After being poisoned, Pokémon will slowly lose their physical strength and finally die. What about humans who have much less resistance? Quinn didn't want to imagine.

At this time, a faint rumbling noise could be heard from his stomach. He was hungry.

Before he had run into the Beedrill, he noticed many fruit-like things growing on the trees in this forest, which should be the berries commonly used in this world.

The main difference between them and normal fruits being berries have different supernatural effects. Such as the Cheri berry that can treat paralysis, the Rawst berry that treats burns, and the berry he needs most- the Pecha berry that can cure poison.

'I just don't know if berries have any effect on humans.' Thought Quinn frowning.

In addition to the berries, Quinn also saw many different ordinary fish in the river. As he had thought, there were normal animals in this world too!

Putting on his clothes which had some time to dry, he took his coat and put it under him- preparing to lie down and rest. The 'exciting' chase sequence had taken all his energy.

He looked at the clear sky through the trees, and thought, 'At present, the most important things are to get out of the forest, find a human town, and find a way to detoxify myself.'

After all, the forest is so big, it is not easy to find berry trees, not to mention whether you can find Pecha berries with detoxification effects.

Laying down, Quinn felt something spherical in his jacket pocket.

He got up and searched his jacket's pockets, and slowly took out a small purple sphere from one of his pockets.

Not knowing where he touched, the sphere quickly enlarged in his hand and returned to its normal form.

After seeing the true appearance of the sphere, Quinn was stunned.

The upper part is a two-shade purple top forming two brighter purple circles on the sides, and the lower part is pure white. There is a white button between the two halves, and right above this button is a white 'M'.

'This is... a Master Ball? But why was it in my pocket?'

Without thinking, he pressed the button on the ball- and with a loud click, the master ball opened! Suddenly, a bright white light flashed out from the ball.

In this white light, a Pokémon with orange feathers emerged.

But it is not completely orange. The feathers on its chest and neck are bright white, like the fancy napkins worn when rich people eat.

"Gah!"

The Pokémon held his head with his wings and looked over stupidly with those dull round eyes.

Quinn looked at it.

It looked at Quinn.

In the next second, a large amount of information suddenly appeared in Quinn's mind.

[Cramorant♂ (Shiny)]

Typing: Flying, Water

Ability: Gulp Missile

Base Stats: 1530 (HP: 255, Attack: 255, Defense: 255, Sp. Atk: 255, Sp. Def: 255, Speed: 255)

Moves Known: [Behemoth Blade], [Oblivion Wing], [Spacial Rend], [Roar of Time]

(E/N -- Book doesn't restrict Pokémon to four moves, at least the author note says so...)

Current Mood: &#?+!#@

Physical State: Perfect

Favorability: 100 (Favorite trainer, loves you more than itself!)

Quinn was shocked.

Isn't this the Pokémon that he had just customized before he crossed over?

A Cramorant, a shiny Cramorant at that, a Pokémon of the Galar region.

In the game, Cramorant is introduced as follows:

[It's so strong that it can knock out some opponents in a single hit, but it also may forget what it's battling mid-fight. But it never forgets a trainer it has bonded with.

This hungry Pokémon swallows Arrokuda whole. Occasionally, it makes a mistake and tries to swallow a Pokémon other than its preferred prey.]

(E/N -- It did slightly adjust the Pokedex entry, so I just went with it.)

Because it was used as the first Pokémon in the test, the six IVs of this Cramorant were set outrageously high.

The four moves it knows are also deliberately changed by Quinn.

Not only the data of the Cramorant- but also the software that he used to modify the data of this Cramorant appears in his mind!

Author Message -

1. It's not a brainless story where the MC collects, harvests, and kills the whole time.

2. Alternative traditional Pokémon.

3. The author can't write about women, so there is no romance.

4. There are ordinary animals in this world, others will be stunned. The protagonist will not eat Pokémon, and will not modify the Pokémon to sell.
