Chapter 11: Starter and Trainer

-LITTLEROOT TOWN-

The town of Littleroot, which is also known as the town of beginners. Littleroot is a small town consisting of only few houses and one building, but although Littleroot is a small town. It is also the home of Prof. Birch, a famous and renowned Pokémon Professor.

In Prof. Birch's Pokémon lab, laying inside a machine, a Charmander woke up in confusion and drowsiness. Opening its blue eyes, it asks with a hint of familiarity and also helplessness.

"Cha char charman der (Now where am I?, wait, never mind, I can probably guess)''

As Eren says this, he looks around, looking curiously at the futuristic machine he is in. While Eren was feeling amazed at the technology in Pokémon world, a conversation reached his ears. Turning around, he spots Prof. Birch and May talking to each other.

"I've heard so much about you from your father, and I hear you don't have a Pokémon." As Prof. Birch spoke, he held his hand on his chin thoughtfully.

"Uh yes, Prof. Birch'' May replied with a hint of shyness.

"You should be at the appropriate age to receive a Pokémon and considering you indirectly saved my life. You may choose between these three Pokémon, but remember when you choose. You should be resolute in your choice. As your choice will affect and determine your future."

Looking at May, Prof. Birch said with a serious expression on his face as he pointed towards the three Pokémon in his bag.

Feeling nervous due to the pressure of determining her future right now, she nods her head and looks at the Pokémon information displayed above each ball.

[Treecko]

Grass

[Torchic]

Fire

[Mudkip]

Water

Seeing this made her even more nervous. As May was struggling to make a choice, a Pokémon's head popped out of nowhere, almost frightening her to death. Finding out who it was, she heaved a sigh of relief and looked at the Charmander in front of her.

"Oh, it's the Charmander. Shouldn't you be resting right now, and now that I think of it, aren't you be a Kanto starter? How did you get all the way over here to the Hoenn Region?" Prof. Birch came over as he looked curiously at the Charmander in front of him.

Seemingly ignoring the middle-aged man's curiosity, Eren couldn't help but stare at May in amazement and secretly say in his heart. May looks way cuter in real life than she does in the game.....

Being started at by Charmander made May even more shy. 

Seeing their interaction, Prof. Birch thought of a plan and said while looking at both of them. "You would be great together..uhmm I mean as partners."

Hearing this, Eren gave Prof. Birch a weird stare. 

Feeling this, Prof. Birch cleared his throat and said hurriedly. "Uhumm, nonono, don't get me wrong, what I meant by that was Pokémon partners, and considering Charmander is also a starter Pokémon, I'm sure he would love to have a partner."

Pausing Prof. Birch looks at Charmander and continues. 'So young Charmander, would you like to be Little May's first Pokémon?

Listening to Prof. Birch, Eren's eyes widen as he stares intensely at May in front of him. 

Sensing Eren's sight, May blushed and lowered her head.

A minute passed by, and seeing Charmander had no intention of replying, May heart was full of disappointment.

Just as May was disappointed in herself, the Charmander, who was staring blankly at her, suddenly moved. 

Walking towards Prof. Birch's bag with its chubby body, it looked at the information displayed above each ball.

Seeing that little Charmander, had ignored her, May's heart felt sad.

Maybe I'm not suitable to have my own Pokémon. She sadly thought to herself.

When May felt this way, little Charmander came over, holding a Poké ball in its hand and placing it on hers.

May felt confused when she saw this scene, but then felt down when she realised what this meant.

"Thanks, little Charmander, and it's fine if....." She said bitterly.

Feeling that maybe May may have misunderstood its actions. It shook its head, took out a Poké ball out of nowhere and placed it on May's other hand while pointing to itself.

Holding the two Poké balls in her hand, she suddenly realises something. "Wait, could it be that you want to be my partner and also want torchic to be my partner?"

"Char char" (Yes, of course).

Getting Charmander's confirmation May felt happy and hugged little Charmander in front of her.

Seeing this scene, Prof. Birch smiled and said to May. "Since it is so, then why don't you catch little Charmander first?"

"Huh, yes, I'm sorry Professor, for taking torchic also."

"No worries, just be sure to take good care of torchic""

"I will, Professor Birch."

After saying this, May turned towards little Charmander in front of her as she stretched out the Poké ball in her. 

Walking towards the Poké Ball, little Charmander gently presses its head against it and enters as the light on the button flickers and the Poké Ball sways sideways.

Finally stopping, a sound was heard, signalling May's success.

"Yay!! I caught my first Pokémon!"
