6 Chapter 5

Arthur and his family arrived back at their mansion with a sense of excitement hanging in the air. It had been quite an eventful day so far, and Arthur was eager to get started on training his new partner, Froakie. As soon as they walked through the door, Arthur turned to Froakie, who was still perched comfortably on his shoulder.

"Alright, Froakie," Arthur said with a grin, "let's head out back and see what you've got."

Froakie let out a cheerful croak and jumped off Arthur's shoulder, leading the way to the backyard. The family followed, watching as Arthur and Froakie made their way to a small battleground that Arthur had set up in the backyard for training purposes. The area was spacious and well-maintained, perfect for practicing moves without causing too much damage.

Once they reached the battleground, Arthur turned to Froakie. "Okay, Froakie, show me all the moves you know!" he called out.

Froakie nodded enthusiastically and prepared to demonstrate its moves. It started with a low, guttural growl that echoed through the backyard. The Pokedex Arthur carried automatically began to describe the move.

"Growl: a move that lowers the opponent's attack stat," the Pokedex chimed in, providing helpful information.

Froakie then launched into a series of quick jabs, using its webbed fists to perform the Pound move. The Pokedex described the move as Froakie executed it flawlessly.

"Pound: a physical move that strikes the opponent with the user's body part," the Pokedex informed.

Arthur watched Froakie perform the moves with a thoughtful expression. The little Water-type was quick and agile, and its moves were precise and powerful. However, Arthur realized that Froakie was lacking in its water-type moves, which would be essential for future battles.

"You've got great moves, Froakie," Arthur said, giving his partner an approving nod. "But we need to get you a good water-type move. You have two options: Bubble or Water Gun."

Froakie tilted its head to the side, as if pondering the options. Arthur decided that Water Gun would be the better choice for Froakie, as it offered more versatility in battle.

"Let's focus on teaching you Water Gun," Arthur announced.

Froakie's eyes lit up with excitement at the prospect of learning a new move. It punched its webbed fist in the air as if to show its readiness to start training.

Arthur instructed Froakie to sit down and meditate. "To learn a water-type move, you have to find the water-type energy in your body," he explained. "Close your eyes and focus on finding a blue-colored energy within you."

Froakie obediently sat down and closed its eyes. Arthur watched as Froakie concentrated, its small chest rising and falling with each deep breath. He couldn't help but smile at the sight of his eager partner, who seemed determined to learn the new move as quickly as possible.

To Arthur's amazement, it only took Froakie about ten minutes to find the blue energy within its body. When Froakie opened its eyes, Arthur could see the confidence and determination shining in them.

"Wow, Froakie! That was fast!" Arthur exclaimed, clearly impressed. "You've got some serious talent!"

Froakie let out an enthusiastic croak, clearly pleased with its progress. Arthur knew he had made the right choice in choosing Froakie as his starter Pokémon. Its quick learning and eagerness to improve made it the perfect partner for his journey.

With Froakie having found its water-type energy, Arthur knew it was only a matter of time before it would master Water Gun. He and Froakie spent the rest of the afternoon working on perfecting the move, with Froakie showing incredible progress.

As the sun began to set, the Hearthstone family gathered on the patio to watch Arthur and Froakie train. It was a perfect end to a day full of new experiences and possibilities. Arthur couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to explore this world and create memories with his family and his new partner, Froakie.

Arthur was working with Froakie in the backyard, the little Pokémon eagerly attempting to perfect its new move, Water Gun. As they practiced, a maid approached the duo with a smile on her face.

"Master Arthur, dinner is ready to be served," she said, gesturing toward the mansion.

Arthur nodded, signaling to Froakie that it was time to wrap up for the day. The little Pokémon happily bounced alongside him as they walked back inside. Elena's voice echoed through the hallway.

"Arthur, dinner time!" she called.

Arthur, Diana, and Elena made their way to the dining room together, where they found Alex already seated at the head of the table. He greeted them with a hearty smile.

"Hey, Arthur, Diana, Elena! Just got back from work at the restaurant and I'm famished!" Alex said, clearly pleased to see his family.

As everyone took their seats around the dining table, Froakie, curious about the new face, jumped onto the table to greet Alex. The head of the family laughed, delighted by his son's starter Pokémon.

"Well, would you look at that! Froakie sure is a lively one!" Alex exclaimed, gently patting Froakie's head. "So, Arthur, I see you've chosen Froakie as your starter Pokémon. What made you decide on it?"

Arthur, Froakie, and the rest of the family seemed to perk up at the question. Froakie even let out a little croak, as if it understood the conversation was about it.

"I've been thinking a lot about my team for the upcoming Lumiose Conference," Arthur explained. "I needed a water-type Pokémon that was fast and could evolve into an even faster form. Froakie was the best choice for that. Plus, Greninja is incredibly powerful and its speed is a huge asset in battles."

"Sounds like you put a lot of thought into it," Alex said, nodding approvingly.

The meal continued with the family discussing Arthur's plans for his journey. Arthur informed them that he intended to leave the next morning. Diana's eyes widened with a mix of excitement and worry.

"That soon?" she asked, her voice carrying a hint of concern.

Arthur nodded. "Yeah, I think the sooner I start, the better. There's a lot to explore and many trainers to meet along the way."

Elena smiled at her son, understanding his determination. "Just make sure to take care of yourself, Arthur. It's a big world out there."

"Don't worry, Mom," Arthur reassured her with a grin. "I'll be careful. Froakie and I will make a great team."

"That you will," Alex chimed in, lifting his glass in a toast. "To Arthur's journey! May it be full of exciting battles and new experiences."

The family raised their glasses, joining in the toast. Froakie, not wanting to be left out, let out a cheerful croak and did a little victory dance on the table, causing everyone to laugh.

As dinner came to an end, Alex and Elena shared a knowing look with each other. They turned to Arthur with a smile.

"We have a little gift for you before you leave on your journey," Elena said, her eyes twinkling.

Arthur's curiosity was piqued. "A gift? What is it?"

"We'll give it to you in the morning," Alex said, giving Arthur a playful wink. "Something for your adventure, you'll see."

Arthur couldn't help but feel excited and curious about the gift. After dinner, the family spent a little more time together, enjoying each other's company and discussing plans for the future. Froakie continued to entertain everyone with its playful antics.

Eventually, it was time for bed. Arthur said goodnight to his family and Froakie, then made his way to his room. He couldn't shake the anticipation of the gift his parents had mentioned. He let Froakie be out of his pokeball for the night. As he lay in bed, he found it hard to fall asleep, his mind racing with thoughts of the journey ahead and the mysterious gift.

Despite his excitement, Arthur knew he needed rest for the adventure that awaited him. He closed his eyes, drifting off to sleep with dreams of new Pokémon, exciting battles, and the bond he would continue to build with Froakie.
