Chapter 3: Enter Route 1 and Taillow

I head towards route 1.

{Father} 'Champ, you just gonna leave without saying goodbye?' He laughs.

"Oh, I forgot. Sorry, dad."

{Father} 'It's all good, son. I wish you good luck on your journey.'

"Thank you." I smile.

He nods, then heads back home.

I turn and head into Route 1.

I grab a map I had packed yesterday out from my backpack, and look at it. I'd sigh, realizing I was walking the entirely wrong direction.

"Great..my directions stink.."

Elekid laughs a bit.

A faint noise from a pokémon could be heard.

{?} 'Taillow!'

We look around, finding a pokémon on a branch of a tree. I grab my pokédex.

"Woah, what is that?"

{Pokédex} 'Taillow is young, it has only just left its nest. As a result, it sometimes becomes lonesome and cries at night. This Pokémon feeds on Wurmple that live in forests. Taillow courageously stands its ground against foes, however strong they may be.'

I smile. "Elekid, ready for another pal?"

Elekid smiles, jumping off my shoulder immediately.

"Alright." I chuckle.

Taillow looks over, tilting its head slightly.

"Elekid, use thunder shock!"

Elekid obeys, electricity sparking off of his arm as he leaps up towards Taillow. It delivers the blow. Taillow would move just before the attack hit flying down towards the ground. It would fly up into the sky, looping around and coming right at Elekid.

"Elekid, use Thunder Shock, once more!"

Elekid turns around at the right moment, delivering another blow from the thunder shock. The attack finally connecting with Taillow. Taillow hits the ground, exhausted.

I grab a poke ball off my belt, clicking the button on it and the ball gets bigger. I quickly throw the ball at Taillow. The button hits Taillow, bouncing up into the air and opens up a bit and Taillow goes inside it. The ball drops to the ground shaking once, then twice, then a third time, and finally the red dot on the button fades as a faint sound comes from the poke ball. I step forward and pick up the poke ball. Elekid jumps up onto my left shoulder.

"You were great out there Elekid." I smile.

He smiles back.

I grip the poke ball throwing it. Taillow would appear on the ground. I kneel down.

"Welcome to the team Taillow!"

{Taillow} "Taillow!" It would fly up onto my shoulder.
