25 Eleventh leaf, and magical abilities?

Time continued to sink past Wu Motian's fingers, each second spelling an unchangeable and harsh truth, the drumming of bells from some celestial song slightly burning his heart.

Forget about death soon after killing his enemies, he was soon to die here.

Even with his superior strength, and skill, the sheer degree of drones amassed to seize him truly put into perspective the limitations of a mortal.

A casual kick could send his opponents flying off, their chests caved in and life disregarded.

Meanwhile another hapless soul would replace the previous one, and nothing would change.

Wu Motian was heavily considering using his Dharma idol, but he didn't want to show it off.

While there weren't many Immortal practitioner's in the mortal realm. There were a few. Ye Zheng didn't count for one yet, but his own great grandfather was an expert at Divine Gate stage. While simply a peon at Divine Gate realm of possibility, the lowest form, it could surmount Wu Motian. He wasn't yet ready to combat that old crook, who'd most probably rush out at the notion of another Immortal practitioner like him, extracting his soul and body, draining his blood, and devouring him for every benefit.

That was why he always kept a low key, not using his Dharma idol too much, except when he could leave no witnesses.

His Dharma idol could shatter mountains and pull seas, but it was too grandiose and too incapable to be called omnipotent. Someone might see, and that was too much of a risk.

Yet death outweighed every risk.

Motian hurriedly stepped back, wind shot from his flexing muscles. The dull sound of earth cracking resounded, and he shot back.

He needed to escape, yet even as he moved as fast as he could, more shadows peeled forth blocking his way.

He was like a wooden raft in the harsh seas.

Just then ten men gathered around him, the instigation brought about by a woman wearing a thin black uniform with a black veil covering her face.

They shot forth in a strange and powerful martial array.

He was left with no defense, his hands shot out like cannons blinking forth like fangs of lightning borne in a second and gone.

The ten men fell, but the woman had used this opportunity to fall behind him, and spun like a loach taking a knife to his back.

His newly evolved physique allowed the place a fingers breath inside alone, and he replied with a heavy elbow strike to her face, shattering it like a watermelon.

His eyes frowned. Even without proper time to adapt to the true nature of the bloodline, his physique from the initial refinement and cultivation in human deference made him nearly invulnerable to weapons. Yet this weapon could desecrate him immortal body, as lowly as it was? How could he conceive such a thought. He collected the weapon, and was stunned to find the edge was made from Moon night ore, a rare metal found in heavy yin zones. It could be counted as an Immortal treasure.

Wu Motian silently placed the blade in his Inverse Heaven orb, he could later reforge this into a crown to help with the White Dragon scripture.

Putting some inscriptions and it could be a powerful yin gathering tool.

Yet that was left for later, his own concerns about the appearance of the weapon left him more cautious and excited.

If many of these people had such weapons, he was in deep peril, yet similarly fortune.

He fought on and on, and by the afternoon having arrived. He was left collapsed on the ground, barely able to lean on the edge against some corner shoving his spear to and fro in hopes of seizing these men's lives.

Exhaustion washed over him, even with his superior physique a hundred blades continuously piercing him with no defence only meant death.

Yet as if to acknowledge his efforts, a heavy voice echoed.

"Who dares touch my son!?"

Wu Motian sighed, slipping back, finally his support had arrived.

He was quite happy he had sent the letter to the Wu Clan before going into closed door cultivation.

"How dare your dirty Huang clan touch my son! Do you want to die today!"

A powerful voice echoed loudly, it carried an unbelievable might that sunk all the experts down.

An aged figure, with long black hair, with silver streaks, and a golden crown made as if out of lightning.

His hand swept out, and a terrible fist shot down a certain figured about to thrust a dagger at Wu Motian's heart.

A hundred experts fell to Wu Motian's side from the sky.

Each bearing the mark of Wu.

The aged man, then snorted before disappearing into golden light.

He hurriedly approached Wu Motian, and hugged him tightly.

"Ah, my precious, precious son! I'm so happy to see you! Ah, do you know the amount of heartache you caused your father! Aigo, I feel so abused! I knew I should have left sooner, your damn grandfather kept trying to calm me down! Bloody calm his head down!"

A soldier who looked especially fierce approached the two, and bent 90°, and asked, "Sire, what should we do with these fellows?"

Wu Tang looked disdainfully at those assassins, no imperial protectors and snorted, "Kill them all! Take their bodies and feed it to the dogs, and then burn down their families! I don't want their descendants, or ancestors living!"

The solider bowed, "At your command!"

The countless armored soldiers, with the character for Wu drawn on their chests, took out their gleaming swords and fell like jackals among the bunch.

Meanwhile Wu Tang, hurriedly took out a few bottles of medicines, he showed them into Wu Motian's mouth, and said, "Ah, my beautiful son, look what these bastards have done to you! Ah, yours head it full of wrinkles!"

Wu Motian smiled, he hurriedly pressed the bottles away and smirked, "Father I am fine, just a bit tired. As for wrinkles if not for worrying about you, how else would I have suffered. A son can die ten thousand times, but never forgets to concern himself over his father."

Wu Tang smiled brightly, he then showed a dim expression. He swept Wu Motian's hair to the side, "I'm sorry son. I heard about Brother Lin. If only..."

Wu Motian smiled, "No father, don't blame yourself. It was my fault. Yet master would be ashamed at both of us for looking back alone, not progressing. He would have wanted us to be better, not to starve ourselves in despair."

Wu Tang gently hummed, "Hm. Long'er is smart. Compared to this weak hearted old man, you are surely the pride of our Wu clan, and your master. I'm sure he is proud of you."

Wu Motian smiled slightly, he then said, "Father I've decided to change my name. Call me Wu Motian from now on. I know it's rude and mean of me to disregard the clan in my selfishness, but I don't want to be associated with the Huang clan. I don't like them and their arrogance. They are undeserving of occupying my name."

Wu Tang was stunned, before heartily laughing, "Of course! Of course! Who needs that bunch of high nosed bastards! I would have done so sooner if you had wished, now that you have said who dares question! My son's name is Wu Motian!"

...

Within a closed room, the rumbling of water striking the earth could be heard echoing, and the heavy breeze that shuffled forth was piercing, as faint a ghostly haunt.

There were clouds of smoke rolling about, as the incense burned.

A heavy breath exploded out, and the smoke was shot out, and the wind drove it, sinking into his lungs.

He opened his eyes, and in his palm a small Dharma idol rotated on a lotus throne.

Wu Motian carefully observed a leaf that was near completely torn apart.

He send a few bouts of lifespan into the Dharma idol, flashing veins rose on the Dharma idol.

It began to spin faster, and faster.

Nearly a 200 years of lifespan, everything he had gained from the previous occurrence was exhausted and the final step was reached.

The clear sound of paper tearing echoed, and a leaf tore apart. Now with eleven leaves on the lotus throne.

Wu Motian gently touched the Dharma idol, and a burst of power and lifespan flooded him like a great deluge.

100, 200... 1000 years of lifespan shot into him.

Strength filled him, with a hundred times greater than the first transformation. His physique began to transform, and his bones crack and heal again and again becoming silver, then gold colored. His meridians opened like wide channels, and his pores were like vortexes.

Every breath involved the power of Heaven and Earth, every action carried the Dao.

If before he could be counted among a slightly above average human deference cultivator, now he was comparable to the saint level experts of those Immortal sects and clans. His Inborn energy was thick and colorless, completely pure without a breath of the mortal world.

Furthermore his talent had exploded forth, although not comparable to true geniuses he was nearing the limit of his current talent.

Talent was divided into 4 stages, lowly, middle, high, top, supreme. In his past life when the Ancient Nightmare tested his talent, he said it was at High, not bad, but not good. For reference, Feng Jiaying, and Ye Zheng respectively were Supreme and lowly level talents.

There was no physical quantification for talent, it was mostly summed into three aspects, Cultivation speed, comprehension, and Dao insight.

It wasn't a pure definite upon power, neither was it without essence in it's valuation.

Wu Motian himself was good at all three, with a greater result in Dao insight, yet not enough. Yet now through this transformation, his Cultivation speed, and comprehension had increased by leaps. He was nearing the limit thus for High grade talent.

His mind felt clear, and problems he had before seemed to disappear, and with a simple breathing cycle, he could absorb limitless quantities of Celestial energy relaxing in the atmosphere.

Yet that wasn't all, Wu Motian closed his eyes.

Blue light softly spilled from his closed eyes, and he could see various threads shooting from his head.

Not to mention, he could see among the threads there were glowing marks that shot towards every corner.

There was one connected to him, and he followed it outside.

He crossed a few waterfall's, and mountains, and arrived at a small hold enough for a childs hand to fit inside.

Wu Motian slapped the entrance and broke it open. He pushed his hand inside, and grabbed something.

Looking at it he looked confused.

"This... Isn't this a Clear Sky orb?"

A small ball the size of an egg, was in Wu Motian's eyes. It shone with brilliant colors, most similar to frozen saliva.

He looked up, and saw the golden mark face, and then break apart.

The energy falling into Wu Motian's string, making the red thread become thicker and more powerful.

He ate the clear sky orb, and moved back to his room.

His hand strummed one of the strings which glowed in a faint golden color.

Suddenly his vision twisted, the air in his body was kicked out of him, and he was forced to the ground.

His eyes showed a new scene.

A woman was silently sitting in the middle of a forest. Guards surrounded her like locusts, but she didn't seem to mind. Her soft red hair danced in the wind, and she calmly let the sunlight bathe her.

A string of sounds then fell into his ears, 'Hm, to be thinking of him now. How interesting."

A small smile showing on the beautiful woman's face.

The scene then cracked and Wu Motian appeared back in his original place.

"What..."

He was completely exhausted, and hurried back to his room.

He laid on his bed, and fell asleep. A heavy headache shooting across his brain.

Two days later he finally woke up.

He felt better now, and could properly think.

Wu Motian slightly hummed, "This seems like the Karmic powers of some of those Immortal clans. Yet all they can do is manipulate karma, what is this ability to observe others and see their thoughts, and find treasures. It's as if I can see their karma and luck."

While others could sever, create, and kill with Karma, he could instead observe it.
