"Red bear and thunder hog!"

There was only one small group of orcs that came within range of the camp. Fortunately, Evren was on watch at that time, and the orcs were quietly dispatched. In the morning, everyone broke down the camp and stored it back onto the wagon. It had stopped snowing later in the day yesterday, so they had fresh snow to walk through on the way to the red bear's den.

Along the way, they saw some deer, but Evren had them refrain from hunting them now, in case they alerted the red bear. However, along the way Evren sensed something large up ahead. He thought the red bear had left its den and had wandered around, but when they got closer, they found a massive boar. It looked different from the boars he had hunted previously, and there were the occasional snapping sounds coming from it.

The boar came charging at them, and Evren called out, "Spread out!" The group spread out behind him, and he stood his ground to distract the boar and meet the charge. When the boar was about ten meters away, he cast 'wall' in front of the charging boar and it ran into it, shattering the wall and continued towards Evren. Evren cast another 'wall' in front of the boar, and it stopped on this one, having lost momentum from the first wall, but a snap of an electrical discharge came off of the boar when it hit the wall.

"Walter, take over for me, be careful it uses electricity in its attacks." Evren said as he began to back up. "Fletcher, don't feed it electricity and just stick to the magic arrows. Isobel, see if you can cripple its legs." He reached into his bag and pulled out his bow and quiver. He strung the bow as he said, "Harley, try to keep it contained."

Evren put an adamantium arrow on the string and called out to Walter, "See if you can turn him a bit." Evren took a stance and began feeding magic into the bow, a soft green glow coming from it. When the boar had turned to the side, Evren released the arrow with a burst of magic, and the arrow went clean through the boar's chest, right behind its elbow. The boar turned on Evren and he heard a 'wall' cast from behind him that stopped the boar in place. Isobel appeared from behind a tree behind the boar and slashed its tendons.

Evren lowered the bow as he called out to Isobel, "Isobel, you didn't happen to see where my arrow went, did you?"

She replied, "Evren, I didn't even see you shoot an arrow."

The boar fell as Evren began jogging in its direction. He passed by the dying boar and ran to where the boar was when he fired the bow. He looked behind him, then forward again and jogged ahead. He found a tree the arrow glanced off of, and another tree the arrow embedded itself into. It wasn't that deep, so Evren was able to retrieve it.

He cleaned the arrow off and headed back to the party. Walter had just finished off the boar with a slice to the throat. He turned to Fletcher, "You did good, just don't aim for the body. We can probably use the pelt on this thing. I think it was a thunder hog. And it would be for your armor at that."

Evren took out his adamantium dagger and proceeded to clean and dress the hog. The smell of blood attracted the attention of a sleepy red bear that was trudging through the snow towards them.

Fletcher called out when he saw it, "Evren!"

Evren swore inwardly because he had let his guard down. "Ok, like we talked about. Aim for the belly or the head, try to not damage the pelt if possible. This thing has extra limbs, so aim for those as well. Keep your distance and work together."

Evren and Walter approached the bear from the left and the right while Isobel went off into the woods to circle around behind it. Harley called out from behind, "'Light!'" and a globe of light appeared before the bear's eyes. It was blinded with a roar. Fletcher started firing arrows at its face and what little chest that could be seen. The bear rose up on it's back four legs and swung blindly with its front two.

Harley called out again, "'Goliath!'" and a stone man that appeared to be wearing a toga appeared from the ground. It approached the red bear to grapple it so the others could get attacks in.

Fletcher called out to Harley, "Harley, could you get him to step a bit to the left so I can see the bear?"

Harley nodded and replied with an enthusiastic, "Ok!"

The bear stood up on its back two legs, its top two grappling with the goliath, its middle two swiping at the goliath's mid-section, making pieces come flying off. Walter approached from the right taking a swing at the middle paw on his side. Evren circled around the goliath and stabbed at the bear's stomach. Both weapons had managed to cut it, but not very deep.

Isobel appeared from behind and slashed repeatedly at the tendons of the bear's back legs. The bear got furious and tried to turn around to attack Isobel, but the goliath had a grip on it and refused to let it budge. The bear turned back to the goliath and bit at its neck, ripping a large piece of rock out with it.

Walter managed to slice deep into the muscle on the outside of the paw, causing a lot of blood to pour out. Evren had sliced the inner part of the paw on his side and cut the tendons, making the paw go limp.

Isobel shouted, "I can't cut the tendons, its too tough." And stabbed the bear in the ass out of frustration. The bear roared in pain, and she looked at the blade stabbed into flesh, "Oh! That works."

The bear swung its paw again, sending blood and rock flying. Harley said from the rear, "I don't think it'll last much longer."

Another magic arrow went flying into the throat of the bear. The arrows weren't going too deep, but the multitude that had hit had caused significant bleeding, and a gurgling sound could be heard from the bear's roars.

"He's going down!" Harley called out and the goliath crumbled away to the ground. The bear following it down to land on top of it. The bear stamped down at the remains of the goliath.

Walter ran in and stabbed deep into the bear's side. He gave the sword a twist and then backed away. "Not fast enough!" Yelled Evren as he slashed at the opposite side of the bear and jumped back quickly. The bear that was about to hit Walter, faltered as Evren struck it.

Isobel was repeatedly stabbing at the bear from her position in the rear and seemed to have become oblivious to what was going on around her, the look on her face bordering madness. Evren called out to her and pulled her from her trance, "Isobel!"

She looked at Evren, stuck out her tongue and stabbed the bear in the tendon on the back of its paw, jumping back. The bear's back end fell onto the damaged side, then righting itself. Two paws on the right side were not disabled, and the bear had begun bleeding from its mouth.

Fletcher shot another arrow at the bear's face, hitting it in the eye, making the bear cry out in pain. Walter slashed it between its upper and middle legs, drawing its attention towards it. When it drew away from Evren, he drove his sword into the chest behind the bear's elbow and tried to leap back, but his sword had gotten stuck.

Evren backed off and ran over to the thunder hog where his bow was and prepared to start shooting the bear. The bear though had lost its fight and was getting weary from the loss of blood. Evren walked around to the side of the bear and saw that the bear had rolled onto that side, driving the sword the rest of the way in. It wouldn't take long for the bear to die now, so Evren went back to cleaning the thunder hog.

By the time Evren finished, the bear had died. With a little help, they rolled the bear onto its side so Evren could retrieve his sword and begin cleaning the bear. As he was cleaning the bear, Walter and Fletcher had begun burying the innards of the boar and left enough room for the bear's as well.

When Evren finished, he buried the innards while Fletcher, Walter and Isobel began dragging the thunder hog back to the wagon. He cleaned himself off then followed the others to the wagon with Harley.

"Are you ok, Mr. Evren?" she asked.

Evren smiled, "Yeah, just thinking how we're going to get that bear and the hog back up that hill."

When they got back to the wagon, the others were resting, so Evren turned the wagon, so it was facing back towards the fortress. Evren then walked back to the boar and looked at it for a while. "It's smaller than the ones I killed before."

"You've killed one of these before?" Fletcher asked.

"No, not a thunder hog, but a big boar." He nodded, "It was good eating, but it took forever to get them back to town."

He stretched his neck and said, "Ok, ready? I'll get the front; you guys grab the back."

The others walked over to the back end of the boar as Evren pulled the top of the boar on top of his back. Then using his legs and the power of grunting, he stood upright and with the help of the others, managed to get the boar onto the wagon.

They walked back to the red bear and everyone stared at it. "Ok." Evren said, "I'll get the head again, Walter you get by the middle legs and Fletcher and Isobel can get the back. Harley, see if you can lighten the load with 'levitate.' It may have a weight restriction, but it may help.

Harley nodded and cast 'levitate' on the carcass. Evren and the others bent down and got under the bear to lift with their legs. Except for Fletcher and Isobel. There was some confusion for a while but eventually they managed to lift the back end. They moved unsteadily through the woods towards the wagon and with great strain on the wagon, managed to get the bear loaded on the back.

As everyone was taking a break, Evren was staring up the hill, thinking. When everyone was ready, he said, "Harley, cast levitate on the wagon as we move." He looked to the others and said, "Damn, I should have taught you guys too." They shrugged and Evren continued. "I'm going to use my power on the wagon, you guys just help by pushing."

Everyone got into place, Harley cast 'levitate' on the wagon, and Evren lifted it with telekinesis to the point of straining and said, "Ok, let's go!"
