The three men were selling things that were banned by Holy State Grandia, but something Evren considered to be common place. Some of the things consisted of daggers and short swords. But they also had books and artwork. The books were something Evren was interested in, so he asked to see them. One of the three pulled out three books and showed them to Evren. One of them was a history book, the other two were personal journals. The first of the two journals was from a sea captain. It showed locations and azimuth settings based upon magnetic north and star constellations. He thought it might be something the folks wanting to take up piloting ships might be interested in.

The second journal was from a mage on the southern continent, showing the entire process of spell creation. There was a lot of information missing, like the spells that are already in existence and the processes that already exist, but the process was incredibly informative.
