This Isn't What It Looks Like

<Pearl Pov>

What you saw just now was a flashback of my first day in this house.

Me and David had gotten married because his parents didn't approve of his girlfriend, now mistress, Cordelia Watson.

The other reason was because our parents' friendship was really strong, and because David's parents were very fond of me and knew that I'd had a crush on David since we were kids.

*Sigh* When I woke up this morning, David wasn't there for breakfast, so I asked Mrs. Gray, and she told me that David had gone out and hadn't returned home. {btw it's been a few days -author}. Probably went out on a date with his mistress.

Though he is cold to me, and cheated on me, I still care about him and his well-being, because he was my childhood best friend, well at least he was MY best friend.

I was driving over to Cordelia's apartment. We were going out for a candle-lit dinner. But she didn't know because well... It's a surprise.

When I reached the building, I took the elevator to the fifth floor. As I got closer to the door, I heard not one but two voices coming from inside. One sounded suspiciously male...

Instead of knocking, I directly opened the door, only to be greeted by two shocked faces on the couch, who had -evidently and momentarily- been making out with each other.

"D-David! W-wha-what are y-you doing h-here?" Cordelia stuttered' a shocked look on her face.

"Wow, Cordelia, I thought that you loved me, and would never cheat on me, wow." I said clapping. As I was about to leave, she grabbed my arm.

"D-David, this isn't what it looks like! I can-" she said, trying to make it look like it was an accident, and she didn't mean to, but the damage was already done.

"Get your filthy hands off me!" I yelled, shaking off her hands from my arm. " I was a fool, a FOOL to believe that your love for me was pure. We are over Cordelia. Don't let me see you again." I said and walked out.

Back in the car, I started my way home. Some while later on the road, I noticed blaring lights through my tear-filled eyes. They were headed right at me...

Turning the car sharply, I crashed into a nearby tree to avoid getting crushed.

Taking out my phone, I was able to call Arthur, my best friend, and tell him my location before I lost consciousness.

Waking up, I looked around to see that I was in a hospital ward. Arthur sat in a chair next to the bed, playing who knows what on his phone.

*Sigh* "Really Arthur? Even when your best friend is sitting in a hospital bed, your playing on your phone. How upsetting." I breathed at him.

"Is it my fault your here, sitting in a hospital bed?" Arthur asked, still focusing on his phone, but I caught him subtly rolling his eyes.

*sigh* "Forget it. Tell me, how long have I been out for?" I asked, sitting up in my place.

"Pfft. you've been out for almost three days." he said chuckling.

"WHAT?!" I shouted.
