1 Chapter 2: The underworld

Opening my eyes to this bright light, I blink to adjust as the image becomes clear. I was now standing in a dark hallway, lit only by the blue flames on the side lines of both walls. Looking forward I see two iron doors with great detail on it. Figures reaching to the sky, to be more precise the sun. These people are the sinners stuck in hell for eternity, for they will forever try to reach the heavens with no luck. The doors themselves were probably 12 feet tall? Maybe bigger, they looked so thick that they would crush a human if they ever detached from their place.

I began to walk, each step I dread the closer I got to those doors. I reach out both my arms and I push them open, though they were big the doors were actually light to the touch and easy to open. A sudden gust of wind hit me in the face as a bright light, blinded me temporarily. I shake my head and blink to adjust my eyes, looking up I sigh. Here I was, in the hall of judgement and the center of the underworld.

I cleared my throat and looked at the big figure in front of me. A man with long silver hair and deep red eyes, sitting on his throne wearing a black cloak with silver linings and a black crown with ten points of blue flames. Black earrings on each ear, the sun, the moon and a small sword with a red stone. Something that always caught my eye whenever I got here, the man was simply breathtaking. On one side sat two more figures and on the other side three, a bit smaller. Six males and one female, all wearing similar clothes that still can be distinguished from the others. Each their own crown and accessories and each a different word above their throne. A language I had never learned yet for some reason I can read.

-PRIDE, GREED, WRATH, ENVEY, LUST, GLUTTONY AND SLOTH-

The one in the middle with the flashy hair had the word: JUDGEMENT

I let out a small chuckle and waved at him, acting to happy for my own good. "Long time no see!!!" I yelled. "How are you doing?!?" I added.

His brow twitched in irritation while the others just looked shocked. "Valerie Alexuis?!" The female asked as she almost slid of her throne.

"It's Lilly this time, but yeah that's me. Goodness you guys look the same as always, seriously loosen up!!" I said with a laugh. A sudden thud made me jump back as I looked back at the middel man. He was looking down and clenching his fist, the atmosphere felt very heavy now and there was a cold silence until.

"Why are you back already?!?" He asked with a loud and demanding voice looking back up and down at her.

"I should be asking you the same thing....I thought I would live till 50 this time?" I asked with a shrug, I looked away but stole glances at his face. He was showing pure disgust and annoyance at the same time. "I mean isn't it your duty to ensure that? Or did you lose a document like last? Let me guess Cerberus ate it? Or Envy just stole it from under your nose?" I asked irritated, trying to rile him up. What right does this man have to be so mad?! I should be mad, I should be screaming! I'm the one who died!

Again he slammed the handle of his throne, with so much force the entire castle shook casing me to fall on my knees. "Hey don't be so mad everyone makes mistakes, sometimes once or twice. Though in your case 27 times" I said sarcastically while making myself comfortable on the floor. You might think I'm crazy for acting this way with the literal ruler of hell, but honestly I've had enough.

"28!!" He corrected and sighed, turning his head to the left as he raised his hand and his assistant flew in, the boy didn't look a day over 16 with a pair of small black wings on his back and black horns. Wearing a grey suit while holding a bunch of documents and other scrolls.

"What happened this time?" He whispered to the boy. Though I could not hear, I could guess what he was asking him. He's so predictable.

"Uhhh I'm not sure, here it says age of death 52. Natural causes" the boy whispered back looking nervous as his eyes fell on me for a few seconds then back at his documents.

"52?" He mumbled then look back at the small creature in front of him. "You've only been gone for 15 days!!!" He yelled out, making the boy jump and drop his documents. He was trembling and sweating as he swiftly collected them and flew out from the back.

In the meantime I was just ticking on the floor, it really did seem like water. It was quite soothing, probably the only good thing about hell. "I don't know, not my fault" I mumbled back and rubbed the back of my head. "You know you always promise me that I will live, but...." I said looking up with a glare. "Why do I always die before 20?!?" I yelled while hitting the floor and getting up. "I either trip and fall to my death, get poisoned by my evil step mother or step sister, get hanged for a crime I did not commit, burned alive after the accusations of being a witch, starve or freeze to death or get killed by the same men over and over again!!!" I added sounding frustrated and dramatic, while acting out some of the tragedies.

He was nodding and listening at the first few deaths but the last ones were a surprise, he suddenly got up. Surprising everyone by his sudden actions as he turned smaller and walked up to me. There he stood in front of me now in the size of a human, still taller. I'm around 5.6 and he was probably around 6.9?Stepping back to him getting closer as the giant suddenly grabbed my wrist, now this was new and I could hear a few gasps from the back.

"What do you mean by that? You haven't mentioned this before!!" He said in a strict tone as he leaned in closer.

"Uh...What...first Your too close!!" I yelled out flustered as I tried to pull myself away from him, but that only made him tighten his grip.

"Speak!!" He said loudly in a demanding tone, he was impatient and worried from the sound of his voice. I flinch at the sudden change and look up at his eyes, serious and scary. I had never seen him like this before, without noticing it my body was already trembling. What does he want me to say? I gulp and averts his gaze, why can I remember them now?
