Part 1 | Find a job

"Don't go back to Indonesia just yet,"

Chealse's smile suddenly faded when he heard his mother's statement on the phone.

"Since you just graduated, just look for work there. Help your family. Your father keeps complaining of back pain, I don't know what he feels."

As usual, Chealse could only be silent, suppressed and let her mother talk to the end. After waiting for a long time, her mother finally ended the call and was closed by Chealse's sigh.

The girl massaged her temples slowly, while looking at the two large suitcases that she was ready to bring back to Indonesia at first. However, after hser mother said that, Chealse decided to change her plans.

"Now where should I go?" The girl spoke to herself.

Chealse looked back at her cellphone screen and then looked for someone's name. "She should be able to help me."

Before long, she finally found the name of the contact she was looking for and made a phone call to it. "Are you in the apartment?" Chealse waited for her interlocutor's answer with a feeling of trepidation.

Chealse suddenly smiled. "Okay, I'll be there."

Without taking much time, Chealse immediately pulled her two suitcases and closed the bedroom door. By the way, this was her last day at the hostel.

Chealse Adeline, received a scholarship to study in Berlin, Germany since four years ago. The girl studied at BSEL or the Berlin School of Economics and Law and occupied one of the dormitory rooms for students who received scholarships.

Chealse is one of the students who received a scholarship to study in Berlin. There were hundreds of other students who had the same fate as her. Chealse said goodbye to the lobby guard who always greeted her every time she entered the dormitory. A middle-aged woman with such a gentle voice.

"Are you going back to Indonesia?" said the woman with a charming smile.

Chealse shook his head slowly. "Does not seem. I should probably stay here for a while."

The woman furrowed her brow. "Why?"

Chealse can't say everything. She just smiled and made her even more curious. "Do you want to continue your education?"

"No," Chealse answered quickly. "Maybe… I'll work."

The woman nodded in understanding. "I see, then have you got it?"

Chealse turned to her left and the taxi she ordered had arrived in front of the dormitory. "I'll get it later. Sorry I have to go, my taxi is waiting."

Chealse waved her hand and pulled his two suitcases in a hurry. A young man got out of the driver's seat and took over Chealse's suitcase. Chealse immediately handed over the two heavy objects and got into the passenger seat.

Before long, the man sat back in the driver's seat and glanced at Chealse through the small mirror above him. "Want to go to the airport?"

Chealse who was reading the map on her cell phone spontaneously shook her head. "Take me to the HighPark apartment."

The journey from BSEL dormitory to HighPark is actually not far, only Chealse will be tired if she brings two large suitcases by bus. Even though she's been in Berlin for four years, Chealse doesn't really know the ins and outs of this city. The girl can't go anywhere just to satisfy her craving for sightseeing.

There is pocket money that needs to be saved, there are living expenses that she must suppress and there is a family that she must help to survive. Since her father's company went bankrupt, Chealse had to endure everything.

"Do you know who you are going to visit, Miss?" asked the young man after the car had stopped for a few seconds.

"Of course." Chealse answered as needed and then looked up at the tall apartment building on the right side of the street.

"Then I'll help you get your suitcase out." The man jumped out of the car and swiftly took out two Chealse suitcases.

Chealse just smiled a little and then called the person he was going to meet. "I was already in front of the HighPark apartment. Can you meet me?"

Chealse paid the meter then let the taxi that took her off to continue his work. The girl entered the apartment building and was greeted by a receptionist. "Can I help you?"

"Um, I was waiting for a friend to pick me up." Chealse spoke politely, so the clerk wouldn't suspect him.

"Alright, please wait there." The employee pointed to a waiting room with several sofas there. Chealse just obeyed while hoping anxiously.

The girl sat up straight and texted her friend that she was waiting in the lobby. Chealse took a deep breath. "Sooner or later, I have to be independent"

"Hey Cheals!"

Chealse raised her head. Always called her Cheals. "Hi, Patricia!"

A girl named Patricia immediately grabbed Chealse's body and gave her a quick hug. "Sorry for making you wait so long."

"No, I was just sitting here." Chealse looked around. "Although to be honest, it feels awkward because I've never been here."

Patricia laughed at the Chealse police force. "So? Don't worry, you'll soon have a unit here."

Chealse blushed. "I wish you the best."

Patricia immediately took Chealse to her apartment. Along the way, Patricia explained the outline of the work she would give Chealse.

"I was very lucky to get this job at the end of my semester. Because, in the near future I will be able to get a place here and not be confused when I leave the dormitory."

Chealse just silently listened, especially when she entered Patricia's apartment, everything looked different. Chealse frowned when she saw some gym equipment in the corner of the room. "Doesn't this apartment also have a gym?"

Patricia stowed Chealse's suitcase behind the door and approached Chealse. "True, but sometimes I need some privacy when I want to correct my posture."

At the same time, something seemed to be touching Chealse's shoulder. The girl turned quickly and felt quite relieved when she found Patricia's right hand perched on it. "And you should too," added Patricia again.

Chealse glanced briefly. "Do what?"

Patricia grabbed Chealse's shoulder and faced the girl to a large mirror that took up most of the space in the corner of the room. "Look at you. You need to add muscle here… and here." Patricia touched Chealse's arm and chest and made the girl very surprised.

"What for? Wait, I came here to work, okay? I'm not looking for a lover." Chealse let go of Patricia's arms and sat on the living room sofa.

Patricia laughed then walked slowly towards the kitchen. "Before starting work, you must prepare your best appearance. Isn't that good advice?"

Chealse just took a deep breath and looked at her reflection in the big mirror. "So, you think… I should get into shape before actually working out?"

"Just a suggestion," Patricia replied quickly. "It all depends on your choice."

Patricia thrust a drink at Chealse. The girl frowned. "I'm not used to drinking alcohol, Pat. Don't you know that?"

"Know and from now on you should get used to it." Patricia poured a clear liquid into Chealse's small glass and placed it on Chealse's right hand. "There have been many successful projects because of this."

Chealse was getting more and more clueless. "Because of alcohol?"

"Because of alcohol?" Patricia repeated Chealse's question then laughed. "Right, because of the alcohol! Those people will smile happily and then make a pact with us. You know what I mean? Sometimes a job gets done at the dinner table and this is one of them."

Chealse swallowed her saliva then watched the alcoholic liquid that was ready to flow down her throat.

"Drink, we are going to meet the boss tonight!" Patricia did the same, but with a smile hidden behind her glass.
