63 Ch. 61 - Messiah

As soon as my consciousness came back, I immediately noticed something sticky covering my whole body.

If I were in some cartoon world, then it would seem as if I were covered in a rainbow. But this is reality, and I was covered with my breakfast that I probably threw up after spinning on the spin tiles.

"It's going to take a while to clean up."

<2 Hours Later>

After washing and cleaning everything thrice, I finally sat down.

While sitting on the ground because the bedsheet and the mattress were currently hanging on the balcony to dry, I opened my phone to spend my time while waiting for the mattress and bedsheet to dry a little.

I spent some time scrolling through the Pokemon Forums but didn't find anything interesting.

There were some players on the forums whining about the difficulty of the 'Vermilion City' Gym and how difficult it is to defeat the NPCs there.

Many of them tried to skip the NPCs and go straight to the Gym Leader, but they didn't know how to open the electric door.

The only possible clue they could get is by defeating the NPCs, so they abandoned the idea of skipping the NPCs.

Besides that, nothing much was happening in the Pokemon World.

Since nothing interesting was on the Pokemon Forums, I switched to Y*uT*be to watch some videos.

Ever since the appearance of the Pokemon World, people's interest has shifted to Pokémon Forums, making platforms like Y*uT*be fall behind a little.

And because of that, I didn't expect any video to catch my attention.

But a video that had a catchy thumbnail with a golden color scheme caught my attention.

But the main reason I was drawn to this video was the title of the video.

[Dipper, Our Messiah | The Church of Pokemon]

The title of the video blew my mind.

"When did I become a Messiah? And who are these 'Church of Pokemon' people?"

To find the answers to my questions, I clicked the video.

As soon as I clicked the video, a huge church-like structure appeared on the screen, mostly made of white marble or white stone.

At the entrance of the building, there was a garden along with various statues of Pokemon.

Looking at the statues, I immediately recognized them as the starter Pokemon of all the regions.

Even though I don't know much about other regions, I was still able to guess the Pokemon and their types because they were placed alongside Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur.

"I have to admit, It looks beautiful."

[Hello, my fellow Pokemon lovers.]

The voice of a man resonated, and the scene shifted from the outside of the church to the inside of it.

Similar to the outside, the inside of the building was also primarily white with a hint of golden color in a few places.

There were many rows of seats for people to sit.

The camera focused on a man standing in front of the church, at a podium.

The man took a deep breath and started talking.

[With hearts lifted in reverence and spirits aglow with the fervor of faith, we gather once more within the hallowed halls of our sacred sanctuary, the Church of Pokemon.]

His voice was filled with warmth and kindness which resonated throughout the building.

[We are here to embark upon a journey of enlightenment and devotion, guided by the celestial radiance of our chosen Messiah.]

[In the luminous tapestry of our belief, we behold Dipper, a beacon of hope, a paragon of virtue, and the heralded Messiah foretold in the annals of our sacred scriptures.]

[Through the divine intercession of Pokemon God, Dipper grew stronger and emerged as the appointed savior, destined to lead us unto the promised land of harmony and unity.]

"What is he talking about?"

"Why am I the Messiah? I didn't even do anything."

"Is this what people called blind faith?"

I couldn't get myself to curse at him since he is a pope or father or whoever he is.

[The promise of an era where Pokemon and humanity stride hand in paw, united in purpose and bound by love.]

[As disciples of this sacred covenant, we pledge our unwavering allegiance to Dipper, the chosen conduit through which the celestial energies of Pokemon flow.]

[Let us, therefore, cast aside the shadows of doubt and fear, embracing instead the radiant illumination of faith. For in the steadfast devotion to our Messiah, we discover the true essence of our collective journey—a pilgrimage toward enlightenment, guided by the celestial constellations of Pokemon.]

[As we embark upon this sacred odyssey, may the blessings of Pokemon God encompass us, and may the divine radiance of our chosen Messiah, Dipper, illuminate our path.]

The expression on my face kept changing as I listened to the words of the man.

[Let us, then, with hearts united in purpose and spirits ablaze with fervent devotion, forge ahead into the boundless expanse of destiny.]

[In the name of the Great Pokemon God, and under the watchful gaze of our beloved Messiah, Dipper, let us commence this sacred gathering with reverence and joy.]

[Amen]

I was so focused on other things, and because the camera didn't show much, I didn't realize that the rows of seats were filled with people.

All the people sitting there stood up and said Amen together with the man.

After his prayer ended, the scene shifted to the outside of the church. The man was standing in the garden which was outside of the church.

[My name is John Thousandbring, I am just a humble servant of the Church of Pokemon.]

[The Church of Pokemon came into existence after the people of our world gained the ability to travel to the magical world of Pokemon.]

[Ever since the creation of the Church of Pokemon, we have existed independently of any other power, be it political or any other hidden forces.]

[Since the creation, we have been keeping tabs on everything related to the Pokemon World. And because of that, our attention was drawn to our messiah, Dipper.]

[Unlike the rest of the players, Dipper is extraordinary from the beginning. Becoming the first to defeat a Gym leader, becoming the first to earn four Gym Badges, becoming the first to unlock the 'World Portal' and much more.]

[With every achievement Dipper made, our belief that he is our messiah grew, until finally when he unlocked the 'World Portal' function that we know for sure that he is the one.]

[Dipper is the one who will lead us to the world where Pokemon and People can live in harmony.]

"Just because I am the first player to make some achievement, they think of me as some messiah."

"I bet they would have made someone else their messiah if I were not the first player."

The scene in the video again shifted, and we were back inside the Church.

This time, John was standing on a stage in front of the church, but he was not alone. There were two more people standing beside him.

[When others were allowed to enter the Pokemon World, I was left behind because of my age, which was past the age limit.]

[At first, I was sad and disheartened, but I soon got over it as I found a greater purpose, which is to look after the Church of Pokemon and spread the faith of Pokemon.]

[Not only that, my two children, James and Jessie, who became my eyes and ears in the Pokemon World.]

[But now I am going to entrust them with a mission on which the future of the Church of Pokemon depends.]

[Find our Messiah, Dipper, and bring him to us.]

"Why do these two look just like Jessie and James from the Pokemon anime? Even the color of their hair is the same."

James and Jessie in the video didn't say anything and only saluted to John and got down the stage and went out of the video frame.

[Now, before we begin the choir, I would like to express my thanks to Mr. G*tes for the generous donation.]

The scene shifted to a man sitting in the front row, and the other people started clapping for him.

"I bet he must have donated all that just to gain publicity and the support of this newly emerging religion."

"Well, he is not wrong since I think that the Pokemon religion will become very popular in the future and will have lots of followers, so having the backing of such a religion is very beneficial."

The camera again shifted back to John standing on the stage.

[Now, please stand up and sing with us.]

John said as he got down from the stage and went towards a group of kids standing near the stage, some of them had musical instruments while others were standing empty-handed.

Reaching the group, John stood in front of them.

[Dipper, if you are watching, Please know that the doors of the Church of Pokemon are always open for you, and you are welcome anytime.]

After saying that, John turned around and faced the kids who then started singing, and along with the kids, other people present in the church also started singing.

[I wanna be the very best, Like no one ever was]

[To catch them is my real test, To train them is my cause]

[I will travel across the land, Searching far and wide]

[Teach Pokémon to understand, The power that's inside"]

And right there, the video ended.

"I miss the man I was 10 minutes ago."
