Ch. 42 - Hidden In The Dark

"Dipper, wait..." the players shouted to stop me.

I stopped my Bicycle and looked back.

Watching me stop, the player thought that I would turn back and come to them, but...

"Toodaloo sucker" I said as I rode my Bicycle with great speed and disappeared into the Tall Grasses of 'Route 6'.

Paddling my Bicycle through the Tall Grass, I put some distance between me and the players.

I reached the entrance of the 'Underground Path'.

[You have entered the Underground Path]

"Finally, Peace." I said as I breathed a sigh of relief after getting away from the crowd of players.

Moving through the dark tunnel of the 'Underground Path', I pondered, "Now that I think about it, Did that NPC say that people lose their items in here?"

"I should try using the 'Item Finder'."

I got off my Bicycle, took out the 'Item Finder', and did what I did last time.

The 'Item Finder' pointed to the front.

"That means there is a hidden item down the path." I started moving forward.

After moving for a distance, I used 'Item Finder' again, but this time, it pointed in the opposite direction.

"I walked past the Item." I muttered as I retraced my steps and used 'Item Finder' after every few steps.

Soon, I found the spot where the 'Item Finder' was pointing. Examining the spot with my hands, I received a notification.

[You found one Burn Heal]

"All this walking around for a Burn Heal. Well, it is free, so I ain't complaining."

After finding the item, I continued forward, but I was not dumb enough to think that there was only one Hidden Item in the 'Underground Path'. So, after walking for a short distance, I again used 'Item Finder'.

And I was right, as the 'Item Finder' pointed me to another Hidden Item.

[You found one Awakening]

[You found one Super Potion]

[You found one Antidote]

After a long search through the Dark Tunnel of the 'Underground Path', I finally found all the Hidden Items in it.

"*Phew* Finally got all of them." I said as I looked at the 'Item Finder', which was pointing in two different directions, indicating that there was no Hidden Item nearby.

After putting away the 'Item Finder', I exited the 'Underground Path'.

[You have entered Route 5]

But just as I exited the 'Underground Path' building, I realized that I lost track of time, and it was already dark.

"I guess I should head to the Pokemon Center of 'Cerulean City' and then exit the Pokemon World."

In the dark, I made my way to the Pokemon Center.

[You have entered Cerulean City]

Soon, I reached the Pokemon Center, and after finding a spot to sit in the sitting area, I exited the Pokemon World.

Getting out of bed, I stretched my limbs.

"Today was fun; I completed many quests, caught so many Pokemon, got the 'Item Finder', and outran the players."

"I wonder how other players are doing after they reached 'Vermilion City'. I should check the internet, but first, let's get something to eat."

After getting my belly filled, I opened my phone to check the latest posts on the Pokemon forums.

The other side of 'Route 2', which many players have previously seen from behind the wooden fences, can now be accessed. And on that side of 'Route 2' is a stone structure called 'Diglett's Cave', which leads to a new city called 'Vermilion City'.]

[So Now comes the question, What is inside 'Diglett's Cave'? and How do we cross 'Diglett's Cave'?]

[Just like how 'Pewter City' Gym was based on Rock-Type Pokemon, the 'Vermilion City' Gym is based on Electric-Type Pokemon.]

[The Gym Leader of 'Vermilion City' Gym is Lt. Surge who is also called The Lightning American. He's an expert on electric Pokemon.]

[Based on what we have found, Flying-Type and Water-Type Pokemon are a poor match against Electric-Type Pokemon. Players are advised to avoid using these types of Pokemon against Lt. Surge.]

[It is also found that Electric-Type Pokemon can cause Paralysis to their opponent. So it might be wise to buy some Parlyz Heal before challenging the Gym.]

[Another thing we have found is that Lt. Surge is cautious and has locked himself in. To get to him, players might have to face some kind of challenge or solve some puzzle. The information about this hasn't been known yet, so it won't be easy to get him.]

[Fun Fact, Dipper has already defeated the Gym of 'Vermilion City'.]
