29 Ch. 27 - Grind On S.S. Anne

"Now, I can 100% say that even though this world is similar to the Pokemon games, it is not the same, and there are many hidden things in it. But if this world is not the same as the Pokemon game then why do the people of this world act as NPCs?"

"Why do they have scripted dialogues? Did the Chairman have scripted dialogues of the blackmail situation too? or did he acted independently?"

The more I thought about it, the more puzzling it became.

'It's no use thinking about it. I would only waste my brain cells but wouldn't get any answers because of the limited information that I have.'

'Anyway, Now that I have secured the Bike Voucher, the next thing I need to do is to get the <Cut > HM.'

After some time of searching, I was able to find the harbor where the S.S. Anne ship was supposed to be.

When I got to the harbor, there were two ships present, unlike how it was in the game.

'Shouldn't there be only one ship present on the harbor?' I thought as I made my way towards the first ship but was stopped by the red barrier.

"Sorry, the ferry service isn't available at this time. You need at least 4 badges to travel to a new region." said the NPC who was guarding the path.

'So this is how players will travel to other regions. I would also need to have 4 badges to use the ferry. But since I don't have 4 badges, I can't go to any other region.'

After getting the information about the first ship, I made my way to the next ship, which should to the S.S. Anne. Similar to the last time, I was again stopped by the red barrier.

"Welcome to S.S. Anne!" said the NPC dressed as a sailor guarding the path to the ship.

"Excuse me, do you have a ticket?"

"Ah, Yes, I do." I said as I took out the ticket from my backpack and showed it to him.

[You flashed the S.S. Ticket]

"Great, Welcome to the S.S. Anne." said the NPC as he stood back silent.

After that, I tried to move forward and unlike last time, I wasn't stopped by the barrier this time.

After a short walk on the platform connecting the harbor to the ship, I was in front of the S.S. Anne ship.

'Now, I just need to find the Captain of the ship, get the HM form, and get off. And I could defeat some NPCs along the way.'

I entered the ship.

"What a surprise, I didn't expect to find <Pay Day> here. Good thing I chose to skim through all the compartments of the ship rather than directly going to the Captain's compartment."

<Pay Day> is a move where the Pokemon throws coins at the foe which are recovered after the battle. The amount increases with the foe's level but it is only effective once per battle.

'Using <Pay Day>, I could gain money even when I am fighting with wild Pokemon, but none of my Pokemon can learn this move.'

It's such a weird move. Like where do these coins come from? and why are their amount tied to the foe's level?

Can the Pokemon create coins outside of the Pokemon battle?

Is there a limit to how many coins it can generate besides the obvious limit where the max coins are tied to the max level of Pokemon which is Lv. 100?

What will happen if the move is used against humans or if it is used in a blank space?

Will this move work if I took it to the real world and used it there?

So many questions appeared in my mind, but I wiped them away as I needed to focus on the current task.

After putting away the TM, I continued skimming through the compartments while fighting the NPCs.

While going through the compartments, I found a nice girl who offered me to take a short rest because I looked like her little brother. I agreed to take a rest, and doing so healed all my Pokemon to perfect condition.

After that, I continued with my task.

While fighting with Nidoran ♀, because of its Poison Touch ability caused Poison to Charmeleon.

After completing the battle, I returned back to the nice girl who again offered me to take rest which healed Charmeleon.

'It is nice that I don't have to go back to the Pokemon Center in the city to heal my Pokemon else it would take me forever to clear S.S. Anne.'

After healing my Pokemon, I continued.

[Should a move be deleted and replaced with <Dragon Tail>?]

<Dragon Tail>, a move which will forcibly switch the foe's Pokemon to the next Pokemon in the foe's team, or when used gains wild Pokemon it will end the battle.

Such a powerful and useful move but which move should I remove for it? Sometimes I wish that the Pokemon could learn more than four moves.

I hope that it will change when I take them out into the real world.

After careful consideration, I chose to replace <Rage > with <Dragon Tail>.

It's better to end the battle quickly than to drag it.

And just like that, I reached the area where the Captain's compartment was located but before going to the Captain's compartment, I chose to head back to the nice girl and heal my Pokemon.

From the game, I remember that Blue would come out of the Captain's compartment and will challenge the player.

I wonder, will he challenge me again, since he made me a promise to defeat me then I think he would.

So it is a good idea to get my Pokemon healed before moving forward.

After reaching the nice girl's compartment and taking a rest to heal my Pokemon, I looked at the gain I had in S.S. Anne.
