The end of the journey

Sigh

"I need to return to the starting city as fast as I could, I guess today is the perfect time to continue my journey to the north" The boy sighed and got himself up, then he started walking toward the entrance of the shelter and took his step to the land above ground.

While he was just leaving the town centre (underground shelter located in the town centre), he saw his friend, Halius, walking toward it. The boy automatically waved his hand at him, "Halius! Come here! I have something to talk to you"

Halius complied and there he was, standing right in front of the boy himself, "My friend, I have something to do as fast as possible. I hope you don't mind, but this is urgent for me. So get a rest for two hours and we will depart from this town"

Halius smiled and said, "Why need to wait for 2 hours if we can do it now? I have my things ready. We could depart from this town and continue our journey to the north"

The boy smiled when he heard the words coming out from Halius's. He placed his hand on his shoulder and said, "Well, there's no time to waste then, let's continue our journey!"

After 10 of long days of walking and resting on different settlements, the two boys finally reached what people said to be the place where the 'great wizard' was staying at. But all the two boys saw was flat land, and that's it.

But suddenly, Abel got a notification.

[One of the 5 elven sages, Rayene, invited you to enter her tower]

And suddenly, a cylinder-shaped tower showed itself on the flat land, the entrance of the tower, the firm looking wooden door, facing toward the two boys. They looked at each other at first and nodded before going inside the tower.

What greeted them inside was a comfy-looking room, with couches and three cups of tea on top of the table. On one of the couch, sat a beautiful and young-looking woman with glasses, reading a book with her legs crossed.

While still looking at her book, she said, "Welcome to my tower, Abel and Halius, come sit on the couch and we can begin our talk"

They both complied and sat on the couch nervously. The woman then said, "I'm Rayene and to clear up something, this is actually not my body. Now… let's move onto our talk, don't need to waste time, I already know what happened"

Abel said, "Including what happened to Calendin?"

She responded, 'Yes, including that too, including all the things that the Prince of Olethnura did. As I said, I don't want to waste time but you two must know what happened to Calendin before he was transferred to Light Grove forest"

The woman gulped before she continued her words, "First of all, Calendin is a part of an ancient clan, I can't tell you the name of the clan, but this clan is known for mind-reading technique. And with great power, comes great responsibility, but the man himself, my friend Calendin, fell in love to someone secretly and abandoned his responsibility as the heir"

The woman took a deep breath this time before continuing her words, "That girl was me… anyway, whole clan and rival clans found out, they kidnapped me and threatened him to abandon his right to the throne… if you may ask, he did exact that. He was banished from the city and the rival clan sent me to the place far, far away from the light grove forest. That was basically all his background"

She then took the cup of tea and took a sip out of that before saying, "Now, let's head to my background and what I can offer to help. I'm just one of the lowly, commoner elves, my story was nothing important or great, but, here I am as one of the 5 sages of the elves. Since I was a child, around 3 years old, I cast my first spell, fireball and because I was travelling to every corner of the world before staying here, I have a lot of knowledge"

'I know where this is going' Thought Abel when he heard all those words.

She continued her words, "Yes, you probably know what I will offer, knowledge of magic, a lot of them. And because of that, if I were to teach you two magic, it would take at most two years before you grasped almost all of my knowledge, so… I'm giving you two the decision of becoming my student"

She then went silent and assuming it was his turn to talk, Abel said, "That was a lot of information to process… but sadly, I must reject your offer, simply because I can't stay here for two years straight since I have important matters to attend to, I apologize once again"

She sighed and was about to say something but suddenly was interrupted by Halius, "If I can ask you a question, whose body are you in?"

The two of them looked at him and grinned, then she answered his question, "This is the body of my student, she is a human, 16 years old, so…. I assume you want to study magic with me and my student from now on?"

He stood up and bowed to the woman, "I will do so without hesitation, please accept me as your student"

Abel sighed and took a sip from his cup of tea, 'I guess love does blind people'

The boy then got up from the couch and gave the woman a slight bow, "Thank you for receiving us today. Looks like my friend here is much more interested in magic than I am, I will leave him to you from now on! Thank you for taking care of him for me!"

He left the tower right after that and began making his way toward the starting city, Ortown.
