The heavy rain continued to pour outside. It pelted on the rooftop repeatedly like little drumrolls on a frying pan, drowning out the weep of the boy crouch on the sofa after losing his favorite toy. Now that he thought about it, it was raining too when Johan showed up in his apartment when he cut ties with his so-called best friend.

Why was it always raining like a shitty drama on television?

Russell let out a grunt and tapped the teaspoon against the mug of hot chocolate after stirring it. He opened a cupboard and grabbed a bag of marshmallows to sprinkle on top of the piping hot drink. Once satisfied, he took the two mugs and trudged back to the living room.

"Here. Drink this. I made it extra sweet like you wanted." Russell offered the mug. He didn't put it down and waited, but when Johan still refused to take it, he clicked his tongue. "You can do your drama while holding the mug. My arm is getting numb."
